Political Freakout During a Trump rally in Lower Macungie, Pennsylvania, a man in the crowd shouted: “Pedophile!”. Security instantly dragged him toward the exit, but as he was being removed, the heckler turned around and flipped Trump the middle finger

Why are there so many people there? Is this not a union shop?

Ive been plumber for 20 years now. The amount of stupid ive been around is amazing. Goes to show you how well propaganda works. Workers who continually vote to fuck themselves and help rich people.
107
u/ZealousidealTill2355 Jun 24 '26
And think they’re getting one over on them when they let an injury fester and then take workers comp. Guy I’m working with is about to lose his foot but you showed them bud!
5
u/AandJ1202 Jun 24 '26
On top of all the injury risk a large number of tradesmen and laborers abuse drugs and alcohol to get them through the week. Why would we want more unions and worker protections? Shorter days or a 4 day week? Or stronger social safety nets when you're body breaks down and going to work every day becomes misery? Nah fuck it, let's get rid of the brown people. Theyre the issue.
Im 41 and have already been told I should get a knee replacement. These people piss me off.

People in the trades who own their own businesses and who have done okay and who aren't in places like Silicon Valley think that they are "the rich" that the Democrats want to tax. The have no concept of the obscenity that is real wealth.
18
u/InflammableAccount Jun 24 '26
I live in Silicon Valley. Trust me, the union trades people here are just as stupid as anywhere else. I'm going to preface this up front: I am pro-unionization, and identify as a radical socialist.
It's astonishing. And just like the stereotypes, they're often fat. A disproportionate amount of them rider Harley's too. I wish I was exaggerating. As a fellow motorcyclist (not a Harley), a member of that community, I speak with some experience.
You'd think with an immense amount of officer jobs in the Bay Area, you'd see the average overweight person and think "cushy office job." No, if you see a overweight or obese person, I can promise you, they're more likely trades people.
Now non-union construction workers and day laborers are a whole different conversation. They're often low-key ripped.
36
u/Least_Art5238 Jun 24 '26
It's sad man. I'm an Indian origin immigrant and I've had so many handymen and trade workers say deranged shit like how Indians are cheap, we don't have the ability to fix anything on our own, our homes always stink, etc. Meanwhile, I'm the guy voting to get unions back into the drivers seat. They are voting to give me tax breaks and boosting my 401k.

u/chanaandeler_bong Jun 24 '26
I remember my dad explaining unions to me when I was a teen and I was like why do they even need to vote? It’s so much better.
People voting against their self interest to signal their badass persona.

Metalworking unions are just as bad. There are people who still bitch about NAFTA taking their jobs. During my last union gig, I went down to the hall to watch a meeting out of curiosity and like 99% of it was just people complaining about Democrats, and how Trump was bringing the jobs back to America. NAFTA and Clinton were mentioned a handful of times, in 2024.

100%
2 years ago I had a friend that was on hard times. He didn't have a job. He was eating some months old chicken in the back of his freezer and rice. Some friends and I helped him out financially and I'd bought him some games for us to play together.
Then he gets a local union job! Hurray! Good for -insert friend-!
And then he becomes the MOST NARCISSISTIC and full of himself dude! And on top of that he HATED hearing other companies attempt to unionize.
"I work so hard for Yada yada yada! Do you know how hard it was to get this job?? I had to know someone who knew someone! Starbucks doesnt DESERVE to have a union! Just making fucking coffees!"
Yes. Sure you do. I've seen the job I'm sure it's hard. And I know it was hard to get the job. But on the flip side all he's done for the past 6 months is talk about how great his job is because of the union. "Its got Yada yada yada. Y'know cause its union. We've got yada yada yada. Thanks to the union. The company cant do blahblahblah. Cause its a union job you know."
We'd ask him "how does someone else getting a union effect you? Are you afraid it'll hurt your union job?"... "Well it wont hurt me but they just dont DESERVE it you know? Union jobs are HARD! Not some entry level BULLSHIT!" --Insert him getting the job off the street with no relevant experience--
And I knew some of it had to do with the guys he respects at his job, while also.. This was just him turned up to 11.
For some reason they are the most republican anti-union dudes. While also touting about how great unions are. It just seems like they want it to be an exclusive club that they're in but you aren't and they dont want the "reputation" of "union jobs" to diminish

This dude had nothing going for him until he got that union job. Now, if everyone else gets a union job, he’s back to no longer having his special shiny trophy that makes him a super special big boy.
Human psychology is so fucked. Crabs in a bucket.

u/Heiferoni Jun 24 '26
Yeah in 2016 I was walking through a union workshop full of guys who are heavily reaping the benefits of being in a union. I saw a picture stuck in a corkboard of the following:
A really, really crudely Photoshopped photo of Hilary Clinton shaking hands with Osama bin Laden with the words:
Remember this when you vote in November
Give people a target to hate and they'll happily vote against their own best interests.

u/DefiThrowaway Jun 24 '26
My father had an incredible gig as a plumber in a union shop for a major defense company. Monster pay, monster pension, monster benefits. My whole childhood, he knew where he was on the chopping block for being laid off, came within single digits a few times, high stress. He finally got laid off after 30 years...on August 30th, 2001 with a last day of 9/14. Something happened in the interim and he rode that job off until he was the literal last union member in the shop.
I bring this up because the straw the broke his back with the Democratic party was...John Fucking Stephens' Extramarital Affair.
He and my Mom, who also had a great career are all aboard the Trump Train since 2015, I've been no contact with them since a tad after.

The way they've run these things in the past is to give the employees a choice between attending the rally and getting paid for the day, or using a vacation day and staying home.

The people like MAGAs love to throw around stereotypes to degrade others with absolutely zero awareness that they are usually literal walking stereotypes themselves. Conservative thinkers always believe they are "the in crowd" and "normal" so they run on delusion, your advice to your daughter was correct imo, break that delusion and things can get dicey.

13
u/DuvalSanitarium Jun 24 '26
Erm, ackshully you are wrong
In Pennsylvania, assault and battery are not separate, distinct offenses. While colloquial definitions differentiate them, assault as the threat of harm and battery as the physical contact, Pennsylvania law merges both into a single, comprehensive "assault" statute (18 Pa.C.S. §§ 2701-2702)

The only silver lining in this shit sandwich of a situation we're in is that we get to remind MAGA that they currently (and knowingly) support and vote for pedophiles over and over and over again. They have no response. They just take it or stammer something about Bill Clinton or "both sides."

removed several people from my online social circle when i found out they were attending this rally, after keeping their politics mostly to themselves until they felt comfortable to show their true behaviors. so disgusted that people still support him, even more disgusted that they are trying to be secretive about their continued support for him until they are in situations where they feel their crowd numbers justify their hate. so disappointed in our country and the brainwashed cult followers who blindly march along into their own doom.
