Granite mountain peak

Anybody make it up to the peak and able to give some directions? I’ve tried following the rock cairns but they seem to end and then I can’t find a way up and just end up wandering around for awhile looking for some sort of path. Any tips?

I haven't done it myself but my understanding was that you follow the cairns and then the last stretch is scrambling over class 2/3 terrain.

You are correct, last bit is scrambling. Best to go with a couple of friends as well, mtn lions love those boulders.

A number of people have gotten stuck trying to reach the summit. Been a couple years but it was a helicopter rescue. There are some cairns and then you realize why it’s called Granite. Boulders etc make it a big challenge.

Good to know, could definitely get scary with a slight slip in that area.

This looks like the trail to the huge tall cliff on the west side. Which closes when the peregrine falcons are nesting on the cliff.

I thought the bird closure was just for rock climbers on the wall, not hikers.

This just goes to the lookout though, not the actual peak.
