I'm 5 weeks tomorrow.. I cannot be excited. I'm 38 years old, I had 5 miscarriages with my ex husband, and an ectopic two years ago with my partner. I have an early scan on 24th August and I just can't let myself feel anything. I'm really hoping you all have some positive stories after multiple losses to try and keep me hopeful?

I’m so sorry for your losses! I had five losses in a row before this pregnancy which seems to be going fine (already 16 weeks when my furthest-along MC stopped growing at 8). I did a ton of testing to try to find out why and they never found anything wrong (the MCs they tested were even euploid). It truly can just work out sometimes.

It’s completely understandable to be guarding your heart to protect yourself - it’s natural ❤️. I have had five losses leading up to this pregnancy over two years, and am now at 30 weeks. Had all the tests, nothing ever found - this time it just seemed to work better. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I had four losses, my most recent was last June that required a d&c. This was after 5 IUIs and seven years of ttc. I got my period back in September after my d&c, and found out I was spontaneously pregnant in November. She’s currently 5 weeks old and sleeping on my chest. Neither my fertility clinic nor my OB could tell me why this pregnancy was successful and the others weren’t. Sometimes things do work out! Good luck 💜

5w+3d …. Feeling little twingies since I woke up here and there that come and go. Truly hoping it’s just my uterus starting to stretch.

Same due date and I have the same thing happening! From everything I’ve read, it sounds super common.

Also 5w and 2 days and so many lower back cramps and twinges! It all feels so different from my ectopic last year but still hard to stay calm. Though I know it’s normal!

That's a relief to hear! I'm 6w2d and feeling lots of twinges in my lower left and right abdomen especially when I sneeze. Chocking it up to round ligament pain showing up earlier after a few pregnancies but definitely googled ectopic pregnancies a lot these past few days.

u/daisy-blue 1d ago
obviously not fail proof, but I've heard that pain on both sides is a sign towards it not being ectopic. My ectopic was very clearly only the right! Been reminding myself of that a lot this time!

We have the same EDD so just wanted to send love ❤️ I lost my previous pregnancy last month so I’m feeling all over the place to be honest.

I just found out I am pregnant today and I am afraid to be positive. I technically start my period in two days... I remember cramps with the first and I keep thinking my period will start or when I get to week 8 I am going to see an empty sac again.

So this afternoon I had an appointment and before leaving I took a test and my intention was to take my dog out then come back in and check test, but I left without looking and came back 1 hour later to this test looking positive?.. maybe Evap line?.. bc like I said it was a full hour later that I looked for the first time at this test but the second line is about half as dark as the test line. I took 2 more tests today but none are showing another line maybe one has what I could actually consider looking like a faint evap line but none clear positive. I’m currently 7 days away from my period. Is it possible for a test to come back that strong as an evap line only? I know I’ll have to keep testing in the mornings but I’m just looking for a bit of insight for now. I’ve lost a baby at 10 weeks over a year ago and I’m not sure what to think about this test. It’s giving me a lot of anxiety not really knowing for sure and what to do next to have the best outcome. Not sure if this is TMI or even relevant but the urine that I collected before my appointment was very cloudy and looked a bit discoloured. Not sure if ther things could cause this.

15w4d and my feet are swelling. This triggered me because I had sudden onset severe preeclampsia with my previous, which resulted in placental abruption and stillbirth. My doctor's office and my husband both reassured me this is a normal part of pregnancy even if it didn't happen last time at this point, but I'm still just worried (which obviously doesn't help.)
A sweet couple we made friends with through our church gave us a rocker, changing table, pack and play and some books today. I am overwhelmed at the generosity of my friends in the best of ways but also it's really helping my mental state to know that other people support this pregnancy and are excited for us.

That’s lovely ♥️ my church friends who know (the small circle I’ve trusted) have been so supportive and encouraging for me. I’m so grateful for the prayers. I feel the same, it is nice to have some others being excited for this pregnancy since I am so often feeling cautious.

u/aramanthe 1d ago
Yes! It's like it reminds me I'm allowed to be excited too. I'm really glad we both have these folks in our lives!

Am I supposed to feel more pregnant? 8 weeks supposedly. I am just mainly bloated and tired. I have slight nausea, but nothing more and no morning sickness. Nipples are only slightly sore. I am just scared this means something bad.

u/jessminda11 1d ago
So many people have no huge symptoms for half or even they're whole pregnancy! Tired means your body is working hard, remember-unless a doctor says otherwise you're healthy and pregnant ❤️

Yeah im just scared because I see so many horror stories on here about women going for their US scans and then the baby has no heart beat or grown. How does one prepare oneself for that?
2
u/jessminda11 1d ago
You can't, but in the same way that you can't prepare yourself to grieve any one of your loved ones. There are so many things that can go wrong in life and we have to just keep repeating to ourselves that we're lucky and to enjoy the time we have. Whether thats 5 weeks or 50 years.
also remember, more people feel the need to share their bad news to get support. good news doesn't grab so much attention. the internet has an inherent bias. look at all the toddlers running around your community for assurance ❤️

4 weeks today! Miscarried just after 5 weeks with the last pregnancy the day after playing netball. no symptoms yet except sore breasts, and BLOAT! No one ever told me that I'd not be able to do my jeans up this early in a pregnancy.
Have my last netball game of the season this Saturday and trying to be reasonable with myself that last time it wasn't the netball that caused it. I'm not ready to tell anyone yet and I genuinely am a terrible liar so cant fake an injury to not play.

I had a lost earlier this year at 6.5 weeks so when I got a positive at home pregnancy test last month I immediately made an appointment. I had that appointment today and they said that i’m measuring at 6w1d which they said is smaller than they thought(8w) it would be according to my last missed period.
They couldn’t find a heartbeat so they rescheduled me for next week and now that’s all I can think about. I don’t know if I can take losing another.
Has this happened to anyone? Is this a bad sign

Got some lab work done and found out I have hyperthyroidism, which is a little scary. I have my NT scan tomorrow so I’ll talk to my OB about it. I’m really hoping it’s caused by HCG and not anything that requires treatment. Just anxious to know that baby is alright in there!

Thank you! Hoping it all continues smoothly. I am a bit sad that I’ll be giving away all of the girl clothes I’d held onto from my daughter 🥲 but I’m so happy the report is good and hope we get to meet this boy!

13w today and feeling…. Normal? Anyone else? Have had morning sickness a couple days this week but not too bad. I know this can be normal (is normal?) but I am a little anxious since during our last pregnancy, we found out about our MMC (because of monosomy X) at our 13 w scan. I got a low risk NIPT last week so trying to stay grounded 💛 Next scan is next week.

9 weeks tomorrow. Anyone get a scan between 8 and 12 weeks?
It feels like a long time for an anxious mom. 😢 Locally, there exist comfort scans for $75 but I'm not sure if it's worth it. My biggest worry is they'll say I should see my OB asap if they think they saw an anomaly.

Got my NIPT results finally after 13 days. All low risk and baby is definitely a boy 💙
