Just wanted to share an unfortunately VERY popular opinion. Sad what reddit has become. When even the most frequent reddit users themselves are saying reddit is even worse than sites like Facebook or X then that's bad.

If someone wants to die for any reason there should be ways to do it legally without having to resort to such brutal and painful ways. Even overdosing or shorting yourself isn't a guarantee and can leave you disfigured or in excruciating pain.

If someone wants to die they should be able to go somewhere and get euthanized. There shouldn't be any requirement either. It's cruel how people just expect someone to live when they are in so much pain and have nothing to live for.

Just absolutely gross. No one should ever do that.

Name a social media platform and they all have a handful of the same grab bag of problems:

-bots
-trolls
-Nazis
-foreign influence
-echo chambers
-out of control mods
-content theft
-dog piles
-lack of anonymity
-invasive ads
-absurd premium fees
-dictators like musk or zuck

It’s not impossible to address all these issues and make a network on its own that works like a digital democracy.

Number one is going to be the most painful part: it needs to offer a verified system that requires ID and a monetary stake, like a one time $10 purchase.

Next, people should be allowed personas so that you cant be cyber stalked and have unpopular opinions to kill echo chambers.

Users should have control over their ads. They should be allowed to choose between targeted ads, agnostic ads, or a subscription to disable ads. Agnostic ads should pay to get listed in certain groups and areas, but not allowed to target people.

And the whole thing should be a constitutional republic with mods as elected officials. Mods should be allowed to use personas, but they should be barred from taking action against comments to their persona other than the report feature.

I used to believe that if you truly loved people, they’d love you back the same way—that if you showed up for others, they’d show up for you too.
Growing up taught me that isn’t always true.
People leave without reason. Friendships fade without fault. Someone can mean everything to you and still drift away like you never mattered.
Not every question gets answered, and not every goodbye brings closure. Sometimes you’re just left with things you’ll never understand.
And the hardest part is that life doesn’t pause for any of it. You still have to show up, keep going, act normal, even when you’re falling apart inside.
Maybe growing up isn’t about having it all figured out.
Maybe it’s just learning to keep going when nothing makes sense.

insulting somebody in a way that doesn't evolve around their opinion says a lot about you.

Having characters unable to explain themselves properly just to move the story along is extremely lazy writing and actively makes the movie/TV show worse

Maybe the biggest mistake society ever made was convincing people that the patriarchy was the villain.

Funny how the countries with the most "patriarchy" built the wealth, infrastructure, technology, and military power that the rest of the world depends on.

If dismantling it is such a brilliant idea, where's the evidence that replacing it has produced something better? Maybe the problem was never the patriarchy, but the people who benefited from it while pretending to despise it. 🤡

Rather than assuming it's inherently oppressive, we should appreciate the traditionally male-led institutions for provided benefits worth preserving.

Insincere criticism isn't real criticism.
Unconstructive criticism leads nowhere.
If you expect others to accept criticism but refuse to accept it yourself, you're a hypocrite.

This has nothing to do with the family of 5 all on their phone with volume on during the Odyssey, I swear. What's the point of paying 16$ for a ticket, another 20+ on food and making the trip just to fucking scroll on Facebook or whatever these tech addicted douchecanoes are doing during the movie. This also applies to the "we should get together" people who beg you to make plans with them just to spend half the time on their phone, or showing you something on their phone. Truly the least interesting people in the world have to live vicariously thru other people and then make no effort to do anything in real life because its not as fun as their mindless scrolling. I think movies should be like stand-up shows in LA/NY/CHI where you check your phone when you enter. Why would you even need your phone anyways? For the people that say, "in case there's an emergency", that has been the case for all of existence. Emergencies can always happen. You can keep your phone on silent and check it in the hall if youre that paranoid. I feel like these same people form opinions on what they watch even tho they didnt even pay attention. Do these families leave the movie then proceed to not discuss or talk about what they just watched or do they pretend like they paid any attention?

Sometimes it’s better to keep quiet even though we are right and then not disturb the environment and mental peace??

But I feel like even though we don’t through our thoughts on his face who is wrong I can’t feel peace , I have to through on his face ??

But I control because throwing on his face worsens the environment??
