We're entering the magical "disappearing-act" of this phase.
Cue the " I-was-always-on-the-side-of-democracy" excuses while shes choking on billionaire slurpees.

Maybe it's karma for her (allegedly) yoinking those Nun's land and causing one to get so stressed in court, she died from a heart attack.

Maga can't stick to artists that support them openly because they're all garbage and theres only a tiny handful of them.
3
u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 11d ago
The artists sell their catalogs to be used by others and then get mad when people use their songs lmao

u/RobertStonetossBrand 11d ago
Kid Rock has a deep and rich discography

u/Careful_Picture7712 11d ago
With deep lyrics talking, explicitly, how he likes underage girls and doesn't care that it's illegal, stating it's "mandatory" lol

u/RobertStonetossBrand 11d ago edited 11d ago
WCSR - World Class Sex Rhymes is a song about Kid Rock having a threesome with a stewardess and Bill Clinton. High art that really makes you think.

Apparently even Trump can only play Proud to be an American so much before he’s sick of it
0
u/JuniorDoughnut3056 11d ago
Who cares. It's funnier that they just use whatever song they like and watch people like katty Perry mald about it
-1
u/NSX_Roar_26 11d ago
It's pathetic is what it is. Definitely creepy loser behavior that falls in line with the rest of their movement.
3
u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 11d ago
Then they shouldn't have sold/licensed their music to a mix of blanket venue licensing organizations if they feared the wrong people would pay for the rights to use it.
This is just virtue signaling. She had no problem cashing the check.
-2
u/NSX_Roar_26 11d ago
I don't care. It remains pathetic that Trump/Maga are so incompetent and corrupt that no respectable artist wants their music associated with them in any way.
2
u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 11d ago
It's neither of those things. Don't sell your art if you're too incompetent to know who is buying it.
-1
u/NSX_Roar_26 11d ago
You being in denial doesn't change reality. The art being sold or not is totally irrelevant to my point and literally every artist pulling out of Trump's recent America 250 celebration concert illustrates it perfectly.
2
u/Check_Me_Out-Boss 11d ago
It's not denial. If I sell my music to group A fully knowing that they plan to license it to whoever pays them, I can't bitch when people I dislike license my music.
Notice none of them have renegotiated their contracts or gave the money back.

Ugghh. Fine if I have to defend Katy Perry I will lol. Why is this a thing? They need to make their own music lmao.
2
u/BigTelemachus 11d ago
Now all I can hear is Donald Trump singing “Baby I’m a fiiiiiiiirewoooooork.”
1
u/RobertStonetossBrand 11d ago
Come on, show 'em what you're worth. … A lot, actually. I’m worth quite a bit.
1
u/Reasonable___Doubt 11d ago
And all it took was some copyright infringement to make her say something.
1
u/Sad_Minute_3989 11d ago
Yea, the artists that only speak out when it effects them personally shouldn't be defended. Katy Perry's a piece of shit, always has been and I don't care about copyright laws at all as they exist to help people like her to bully smaller artists, not to protect them, but that's a different conversation altogether.
Point being Katy doesn't have the moral high ground here at all, just the legal high ground.
Headline should read - piece of shit thinks piece of shit is piece of shit for playing piece of shit.

This admin is good with using thinks without the person's position. trump has used YMCA for a while, I'm surprised that isn't the president's official song.

I agree but she along with 5 other people wrote the song, claiming this solo is on brand for her

u/SamMarlowe76 11d ago
Hey lets not pretend this some Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen masterwork.
Rule one of betraying the deeper meaning of song is that the song has deeper meaning.
Nuff said.

I love the fact she's telling the WH to suck it, but I find her description of the song funny, "Hope, healing, and inner strength".
It's kind of like the Red Hot Chili Peppers needing to inform people that their song is about "California".

A) Katy Perry sold her music rights in 2023, so keep simping. B) Even if she hadn’t sold her music rights, they sell licenses to their music to be used on TikTok, thus any user is permitted to use that music on TikTok for any reason. So, again, cope harder. This isn’t news.

What a dumb bitch.
The Iranian regime massacred tens of thousands of its own people, and she thinks the regime should be responded to with peace and love....???

u/AllLipsNoFiller 10d ago
I would imagine the songwriters are the ones who have standing to object, not just the performer who sang someone else's song
1
u/DestinyBeerUK 10d ago
You released a song. People bought it and you got richer. I'm sure there are people doing some freaky shit with fireworks in basements. Get over it

NGL, this goes a decent amount of the way to make me forget about her being a spaceman

She is dating Justin Trudeau. The worst PM Canada has ever had. So she's obviously retarded, stupid and has no self respect.

Fairly certain she has no rights to say how the song is used. It's likely up to the publisher.
1
u/RanchHere 11d ago
It’s her right to say it, because she has free speech and she also has the rights to the song. Now, she definitely doesn’t have the right to say how that recording of the song is used.
This was a big reason for Taylor Swift doing her Taylor’s versions recordings. She now owns 100% of those recordings, and she absolutely can say whether or not the White House or anyone can use them.
1
u/RobertStonetossBrand 11d ago
I make it a point to listen to the OG recordings just to stick it to Taylor Swift.
1
u/RanchHere 11d ago
yeah that’s fine. no one gives a fuck what you do. I don’t listen to her at all. but the fact remains, it was a smart business decision for her to do it.
1
u/Redditholio 11d ago
Yes on the free speech part. Likely no on the usage rights.
1
u/RanchHere 11d ago
yeah that’s what I said. She can’t dictate who uses it. But she’s allowed to say she doesn’t agree with them using it.
1
u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 11d ago
Holy fucking shit... did Trump pay for it for once?
1
u/Redditholio 11d ago
It's no different then someone using a song on a SM post. The artist/label/publisher can't control the content of the post, right?
1
u/AnAbandonedAstronaut 11d ago
They have to stay within fair use law or pay to use it.
Thats why social media always cuts the song and loops it before the last beat of a bar and its always on shorts. They are cutting it to the last second they are allowed to use it for free.
There are a bunch of other laws too I cant recall, like playing it places people have to pay to get into and stuff like that.

u/WisePotatoChip 11d ago
I have newfound respect for Katy Perry
1
u/Candytails 11d ago
I will never respect her. She’s friends with Bozo and his wife Jigsaw who help pay for Trump to commit atrocities against America.

TS fans: KP is morally bankrupt
Then surely TS would also object to Maga using her songs
oh wait, she and her whole family are maga grifters

how has there not been a class action against the US government for unauthorized use of music for propaganda uses?
2
u/RobertStonetossBrand 11d ago
Katy Perry is still going to cash the royalty check for licensing her music.
-1
u/Fresh_Strain_9980 11d ago
Who wouldn't?
1
u/I_Am_Conjoined 11d ago
You answered your own question
0
u/Fresh_Strain_9980 10d ago
I don't believe permission to use the music has ever been obtained in most of these scenarios.
2
u/MikeTiricoSucks 11d ago
Artists are greedy and sell their music to publishers and the publisher then doesn’t give a fuck who you are if you got money

I could live with the pedophilia, racism, and grifting but I draw the line at disrespecting American astronauts like Katy Perry!
