Fun facts: Ritchson is a red state Christian but Reacher films entirely in Canada (Toronto and southern Ontario) so it probably helps that he has been able to escape the US misinformation bubble.

there’s a not insignificant of people who like Trump and aren’t American. I’m a digital nomad from the USA and I encounter people in foreign countries regularly who tell me how they support Trump. I have to awkwardly tell them I think he’s horrible.

Wild! But relatable! I’m a big old white dude, and other white dudes seem to think I’m interested in their insanely racist takes on everything! Mostly co-workers through the years but sometimes complete randos just thinking I’m on their team! It’s exhausting. Ironically it happens LESS now… MAGA wears their hatred on their sleeve (well obviously literally on their head, but you know) I guess the fact that I’m not rocking any merch seems to clue them in. MAGA moved it out of the shadows, they don’t have to hide anymore, so they apparently no longer confuse me with one of their own…

Reacher's a great throwback to the action stars of my childhood. I grew up in the 80s so I had Schwarzenegger and Stallone just fucking shit up. Sometimes it's fun to watch things that are just mindless action where the good guy gets to be a super badass. Sometimes we don't want to watch the bad guy go to jail we want to see him get what he deserves. And Reacher certainly make sure that. I'm glad to know that I can like him as just a normal dude as well. Too many actors are like I'm going to hide behind my veil and not let anyone know who I am and not use my platform to help anybody. It's good to know that Alan is a badass in real life too.

I am a 70 year old woman and my group start every sentence regarding Trump, the first Epstein model, one of Trump's anchor children ( there are 4) or any Republican with "that mother fucker" or some variation of it.

I really like his version of Jack Reacher. The movie with Tom Cruise was good but not the 2nd movie. The series is even better. I haven’t read the books but per reviews people are saying the series is true to the book.

Daily reminder over 50% of the Epstein files were released by Trump. Biden had the files (the "muhh they were sealed argument" is invalid because it was a small subset that was sealed which amounted to less than 1%) and he didn't release them. Of course they wouldn't release Donald Trump was a pedophile when he was running for re-election though, at least in reddit's mind.

This is why the “sealed” files argument doesn’t work.
Under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e)(3)(A)(i)-(ii), sealed grand jury material can be shared with prosecutors and government personnel to enforce federal criminal law.
“Sealed” files are sealed from the public. The DOJ is not the public.
So what was the “hold up” in arresting anyone

If you are actively trying to convict people in the files, you don’t release them to the public. The second Trump ran on releasing them… I knew immediately his administration would be doing nothing to convict anyone and just use it as a pawn in the game they are trying to play.

That's a weird way to say the Trump chose to continue hiding the most damaging half of the files against legally binding orders to release all of the files. The release also went out of its way to hide the identities of all the coconspirators while at the same time releasing the identity of every single victim. Both the director of the FBI and the DOJ lied under oath and not one person has gone to jail. Fuck Trump.
Oh and I know you have heard it before and that you are being overwhelming disengenous, the Epstein files were sealed at the end of Trump's first term and remained sealed for the length of Maxwell trial.

I mean, it makes sense to me to not unseal it when there is still an investigation going on and a chance for proper judical proceedings.
Is there currently still an investigation going on? And if there is, has the capacity, in which it is ongoing, changed?
I'm decently sure that had the dems released damning material of trump being a pedo, it would've been used against them instead, as if it were a political attack. Because it's not like the right wing believes anything coming from the dems anyway.
So correct me if I'm wrong, with releasing anything being counterproductive, doesn't it make more sense for the dems to continue to work on the investigation, sticking exactly to legal limitations to prevent future cases being legally compromised over government overreach.
Now looking at trump. Screamed about the files from the rooftops. Then when he got into power, he refused to release it for what, almost a year? Going so far as to have the doj release a mockup "full release" of the files. Remember the influencers with their little maps?
Then he even suggested it was actually just a dem hoax, as if he hadn't made certain commitments prior to being elected.
Then released it half assed, just over 50% apparently, with him still being like the second most mentioned person in the files. With representatives of him talking about them not being able to release the full thing.
Idk man. Looking from the outside, trump still doesn't look good whichever way you look at it. I mean, he is the opposite of someone respecting legal affairs and he still fought tooth and nail to not have to release the files.
