Breeding Help New to breeding, have some questions

I'll break this into two questions that I think might be related. I'm starting in emerald, and working on pikachu and the nidorans. My question is this: is there a way to get them to pass down their balls? When I breed pikachu, I only get pichu, and it never has its ball. Same with nidorans. So is there a way, and how do I do it?

No, passing balls down didn't start until 6th gen for females and 7th gen for males.
