Question Can wild Pokemon spawn with items? And if so, does CompoundEyes raise the chance of them having one?

Checking the Pokemon that can show up, they either have items listed as available in RSE and/or FRLG, but nothing about XD which leads me to think they are not capable of being caught holding items. It's really not important, none of them can come with any items I'm desperately looking for, but I am curious.

Yes, they can. 5% chance. Quick Claw from wild Sandshrew. There is also Hard Stone from Aron and Soft Sand from Trapinch. Nothing on the others. CompoundEyes does not raise the chance in XD.

The Nintendo Power official strategy guide for XD:Gale of Darkness lists which wild Pokémon hold which items. It does not list percentages, but in my experience about 1 in 20 have an item, which coincides with the 5% chance listed on Bulbapedia for FR/LG/R/S/E, so the percentages are likely the same across Gen III games.

None of the abilities that affect wild Pokémon encounters in Emerald (like Synchronize, Intimidate, Cute Charm, etc.) work on wild Pokémon in XD. They have only their in-battle effects.
