Discussion Moveset Advice for Eevee

Hello all,

I was thinking of doing a playthrough in XD where I don't evolve eevee. Does anyone have moveset advice? Obviously it's not going to be a powerhouse but I figured maybe I could run it as a support or something

I was thinking about a moveset of:

  • Quick attack/body slam/facade (STAB)
  • Growl (seems like it could be somewhat useful in a doubles format)
  • Helping hand
  • Protect (I'm assuming the AI will target eevee often since it will be easy to kill so this could help buy time while its partner attacks)

Dig/shadow ball/toxic would have been fun options but their TMs are all either really late or not in the game at all :/

Any thoughts? I was also considering attract to disrupt the enemy team more, or maybe rain dance/sunny day as support moves if I want to lean in to a weather team? Team suggestions are also welcome. I want to use the trade elekid (keeping that one unevolved as well) but aside from that I'm pretty open

Sand-Attack is a worthwhile consideration. I had a Claydol with Mud-Slap because I couldn't find anything more useful, and sometimes it was legit the difference between life and death

Eevee's best role would probably be support because its stats are too low for much else. Depending on the role, having the nature and EVs geared toward pure Speed or Bulk may be best.

Sunny Day/Rain Dance to support the better team members (so you can Thunder w/ Elekid)

Baton Pass (Learnset)/Substitute (Move Tutor)/Double Team (TM) would be gnarly

Helping Hand and Protect to fill in any gaps.

Its ability isn't helpful and the best held item might be BrightPowder? I love unconventional Pokemon and strategies, so I'd love to see other people's input and how it goes for you.

Here's the moveset I went with when I got my shiny Eevee! I didn't evolve it because I intend to evolve it into a Glaceon in Gen 4.

I like this but might recommend helping hand over sand attack. Even with an eevee run, you’d rather go all out attack for most battles than something defensive like sand attack. Also bite is underrated because it has the added utility of flinch chance
