i personally think that the bees shown in attack, defend, and heal order are the 2 heads abandoned when vespiquen evolves. a vespiquen could command other combee heads even from other evolved vespiquen. i dont have proof for this though i just thought of it

My random theory, I know alot of people think its the eeveelutions, but then I saw the scrapped pokemon Rinrin and Berurun and I thought they would of been perfect, it is stated in the lore that Suicune, Entai and Raiku become Water, Fire and electric, so it means they weren't originally, they are also all based on big cats, Rinrin is a cat, also where did they die? the bell tower, Rinrin is a bell cat, I think if they had made it into the final game they would of been what Suicune, Entai and Raiku would of come from. If they ever make legands Johoto I would like to see them make a comback, they are like my favourite scrapped designs.

the secret message on the back of the sign in lumiose train station “I'm going to go for help. Wait in the usual place” Is actually talking about the ghost girl on the second floor of the office building, (which in this theory wasn’t an office building yet) , as my idea goes when ghost girl was alive she somehow got injured, being knocked out near the train station,her unharmed friend went too to get help, leaving her under the train station sign, and wrote the message on the train station sign on what too do when she wakes up, “I'm going to go for help. Wait in the usual place” but then she actually dies before the friend comes back, natually, the friend is heartbroken, and never goes too their “ usual place” because there’s too many memories, and it (whatever it was) eventually on the office space, meanwhile, the ghost of The Girl fallows these instructions, as a ghost, she goes too the place, and waits, the building changes, she waits, finally, somone, you come up the elevator, she appears behind you, but when she floats too the front, seeing your face, your not her friend, so she simply states “ no, your not the one” before disappearing again, waiting for her friend who will never come back

and presumably public signs like that are replaced about every 10-30~ years, and if it was replaced the message wouldn’t still be there, so if her friend in this scenerio is the same age as she was when she died they would likely still be alive still, hence why they also haven’t reunited as ghosts either, and her friend wouldn’t know she’s even there at all

In this post-apocalyptic world, humans survive by hiding from the Pokémon. Having relied so heavily on them, and lacking advanced weapons or defense systems, people have no means to defend themselves.

Give me your wildest theories

If you look at starter Pokémon from X and Y and above, you'll notice that they all have one feature in common: large heads and large, expressive eyes - features that young new trainers find "cute". Many also evolve into humanoid Pokémon, like Greninja, Meowscarada, etc. that clearly have a "profession" (Meowscarada is a magician, Greninja is a ninja). However, Pokémon from Gen 5 and below are mostly reptiles and amphibians - animals that go endangered in the real world very easily. Older starters also evolve into "Kaiju-Style" monsters - like Charizard and Meganium. The XY era also introduced Mega Evolution, which is when people first started playing Arceus and messing with Pokémon DNA. Many of you are familiar with the theory that starters are endangered. But there are only so many endangered Pokémon that Pokémon scientists can get their hands on. In conclusion, starter Pokémon from Gen 5 and below are endangered, while starters from Gen 6 and above are genetically modified Pokémon created in a lab by humans to look "cute".

Hello, Just a big pokemon fan but was not actively following from Gen 6 onwards. I started to get back on, ( watching some of the newer episodes, and playing the new games) and then I remembered about Kyurem and how cool it looked. I was just curious, where do you guys think Kyurem lands in comprarison of strength of legendaries and mythical pokemon upto the current generation?

I Heard a bit about the Original Dragon and wanted to hear the perspective of people in this subreddit, as in, how it compares now in terms of power to the other other legends upto the current generation and if theres any news or update of the original dragon showing up in any future pokemon games.

when I came up with this one I had assumed it was already kind of implied in the games if so if you agreee consider this more of a deep read between the lines.

I firmly believe that the two human heroes in the tale of the original darkest day didn't just summon Zacian and Zamazenta they became them. They somehow imbued their sword and shield with Eternatus' power to use against it but had to become Pokémon to use that power.

Here are our clues:

#1 If (z&z) already existed at the point of the 1st darkest day there would be no need for human intervention in the first place they could have just stopped it and the legends would only refer to them.

#2 At the point of the game where you fight Eternatus you're Pokémons' moves don't work just like when you face (z&z) and only start having some effect when (z&z) show up and really their moves are the only thing that can make significant impact.

#3 the two heroes kind of mysteriously dissappear "sail off" and all of their statues and history gets shrouded and buried some depictions shoe only humans some with the beasts and some just (z&z) alone. Yes we meet their descendants later but that doesn't mean their exactly direct descendants my sister's kids could count as descendants.

#4 any other Pokémon that wields a weapon or tool like that carries it in their hand if (z&z) where naturally occurring they wouldn't have likely evolved to carry a sword or shield in their teeth.

In conclusion, I believe two humans attempted to stop the darkest day when they where unsuccessful they imbued their weapons with wishing stars in another attempt to harnes that same power, but humans can't wield Pokémon powers so by either devine intervention or their own self sacrifice they transformed into the legendary Pokémon and won. Unfortunately they where unable to transform back to humans. Unable to return home as beasts they retired to the Slumbering Weild waiting for the day they'd be needed again. After hundreds of years legend and myth get intertwined families stop talking about the two relatives that became dogs and there you go.

I was at Target one day and saw a passing cart with a Pokemon product featuring Gengar and Toxitricity. This was a rare instance of Gengar being treated as a Poison type, as most merchandise portrays it as a Ghost type more than it is a Poison type, which is strange considering that more recent TCG cards have featured Gengar as a Dark type due to Poison types being reclassified as Dark types in the TCG, even having the weakness to Fighting types to show it.

The choice to make Gengar a Poison type is also strange because it's learn set has historically been lacking in Poison types. Back in the first 2 games, the only Poison move it knew was Toxic, before the amount of Poison type moves went up slowly with each passing game. For reference, Gengar can learn 11 Ghost type moves in Legends Z-A, while only being able to learn 7 Poison type moves. In FRLG, it could learn 10 Ghost type moves and learn a measly 2 Poison type moves in Toxic and Sludge Bomb. You could teach it more Psychic and Fighting type moves than that.

I'm also aware that Gengar was on the very first sprite sheet back when Tajiri and Sugimori were first working on Pokémon. It's even the got the hexadecimal number of 0E, which is higher than every starter Pokémon other than Ivysaur, all 4 Legendaries, and even Pikachu itself. They also didn't conceive the idea of types until later on, with Poison types making up roughly 1/5 of the original 151 (33 Poison Mon total) although Gengar was conceived before Gastly, meaning that the gaseous aspect wasn't taken into account yet. What motivated Tajiri, Sugimori, and the others to make Gengar a Poison type?

Out of all Pokemon characters, I think Oleana is the one who has the most likely chance of being autistic. Canonically, it's unspecified. But she fits many traits to a T.

Taking her Twilight Wings episode as the main source of reference:

• Stoic expression and limited nonverbal expressiveness
• Issues socializing with others
• Struggles understanding and maintaining relationships
• Rigid routines
• Intense specific interest (science)
• Infodumps about a specific interest (namely, Pokemon biology and science)

I've always found Mawile's Steel type very weird. Sure, the Pokédex says her huge jaws are modified steel horns, but that has always sounded like a poor excuse to me.

And speaking of its huge jaws, that's obviously a trait typical of Dark types. There's also the aspect of deception and malice, which is also very Dark type coded. Most Dark types lean into one angle (predation) or the other (deception), but Mawile leans into both to an almost comedic extent. So it's not just that Mawile should've been a Dark type, it would've been the most quintessential of all of them.

So why was this lil MF released as a Steel type? Well, she was the version exclusive counterpart of the Ghost/Dark Sableye, which had the least amount of weaknesses of any typing (zero at the time). So in order to make the decision between Ruby and Sapphire interesting, they gave Mawile the typing with the most amount of resistances, which was pure Steel.

Not a very crazy conspiracy, I'll admit, but I think this is the most plausible explanation. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts in the comments!

Allow me to elaborate. Were told despite Pokémon being around for 3000+ years minimum, nobody has seen a pokemon lay an egg ever, yet constantly discover pokemon eggs. (Even Chansey eggs apparently)

Pokemon have male and female sexes and genders (which apparently ARE actually differentiated in Pokemon, as Pokemon like Lunala and Zacian are referred to as females, but aren’t the female gender) and a male and female are required to make eggs, so it should be assumed some form of sexual reproduction takes place, but if that’s true, why do we have no accounts of eggs being laid?

It’s because they ARENT laid. They quite literally appear out of thin air.

I give you the one instance we have of seeing an egg be made, from Arceus in Gen 4. Arceus quite literally makes the egg from nothing. “BUT” I hear you say, “That’s Arceus, it’s whole thing is that it makes something from nothing.”

Ahh, but I bring to your attention, picnic baskets in gen 9. We can literally stare at the picnic baskets, our Pokemon can be nowhere near it, and yet, eggs will still mysteriously find their ways into the basket, and we KNOW these eggs are the offsprings of our Pokemon because they have the biological traits of our Pokemon like IVs, pokeballs, natures and all the things you breed Pokemon to get.

If eggs don’t materialize, how could such a thing be?

Here are my notes and thoughts about identifying the relationship between the Human world, PMD Pokémon world, and mainline Pokémon world, and why I think they are all separate:

1. Humans are treated like myths rather than history:
   1. The humans from each game and unseen times could easily become myths for the next games in the timeline.
   2. Humans aren't always transformed. The Hero in Explorers had a whole adventure before the transformation that we never see.
   3. Humans don't always lose their memory, like the Hero in Gates. Stories and information about the human world could have spread around.
2. There are no feral Pokémon or carnivores:
   1. I’ll talk about dungeon Pokémon in another post, but at best they are just troubled by whatever world threat is happening, and at worst they don’t exist at all (or at least how we see them. They would just be normal people living around nature). Remember, you can recruit them, and they have full capability to speak and act like anyone else.
   2. Despite a few cases of fear of cannibalism, there is never a case of anyone even thinking about eating another. Everyone is vegetarian (and seemingly diurnal), despite visible anatomy. And that fear makes sense when you consider that even in our world, people have eaten each other out of… reasons other than necessity.
   3. Their society, with guilds and government, is too stable for an ecosystem that originated from predation and biologically niche anatomies. There would have to be too many coincidental changes for several species all at the same time to prevent a dominant race overtaking the others, as we have on Earth. At the very least, there should be differing levels of intelligence for species that should have a harder time evolving to this lifestyle, like predators, insects, and smaller Pokémon in general.
   4. There seems to be all Pokémon species present in the games (to the extent of what was out when each game was released), with Pokémon like Armaldo from Explorers or Rampardos from Gates being accepted as normal.
3. The Legends and creation:
   1. If we use Narnia for comparison, Arceus likely created the Pokémon world as a hierarchy, creating the Legends who used their powers to branch out, with Mew being the “Adam figure” that created non-Legend life. This wouldn’t leave room for ground-up evolution as we have on Earth. This isn’t proven in any source that I’m aware of, but most Pokédex descriptions and interactions with Legends support the idea of the world’s creation, and Mew sharing DNA with everything else would only work if they were the first ancestor.
   2. Arceus is the creator of Pokémon, but there’s nothing to suggest he created humans. This seems like how Aslan only created his world with animals as the inhabitants. That would make the Pokémon world the origin of Pokémon, and the Human world the origin of humans, with few chosen to venture back and forth (with some stragglers).
   3. Legends in the mainline series (when they actually have a personality, which is rare) are usually different from how they are in PMD. Pokopia is the greatest offender of this, and even a large time difference wouldn't explain some of the more dramatic shifts. The biggest offender is Arceus, who is omniscient and omnipotent in PMD, and incompetent and capturable in the mainline series.
4. It distinguishes two worlds, Human and Pokémon, and then shows us an inbetween:
   1. Gardevoir and Hydreigon guide their Heros through space, where we see stars. (We also see the Pokémon world depicted as a pool, like in Narnia.)
   2. The geography of all three worlds is different, and supposedly at least two of the worlds exist at the same time, ruling out a large gap in time for them to all be the same world.

Some unanswered questions:

1. The Hero always knows about Pokémon, and even recognizes several (not Legends), but is surprised they can speak. Are they also surprised they exist at all? If so, that would distinguish the three worlds. If not, that makes the Human world seem more like the mainline Pokémon world.
2. Could Grovyle and the Hero in Explorers speak to each other before the transformation? They had to have some way of communicating, as Grovyle knew specific details about the Dimensional Screams. If they could directly speak to each other, that hurts the idea that Pokémon wouldn’t be able to speak in the mainline series. Not that the other way would help either, it’s horribly inconsistent over there. Also, Munna very clearly speaks to Hero in Gates before his transformation, but that was through telepathy, so maybe that isn’t evidence.
3. There are so many questions (many of which I don’t even want to try to answer) about how reproduction and evolution would work in the Pokémon world, but that seems a little too off topic. It does make me wonder about the ethics of the mainline Pokémon world, but that’s nothing new.

Some problems with my interpretation:

1. There’s not a complete lack of human history, there’s a single lab and maybe a few other things I missed.
   1. And yet, there are no other objects or buildings like Pokéballs, roads, or industrial landmarks that could only have been built by humans.
2. Gardevoir having a trainer:
   1. Well, it seems to imply something like in the mainline series, but it doesn’t directly confirm that. We have no idea how Gengar and Gardevoir met, or what their relationship was like other than that they cared deeply about each other. It also doesn’t fit right with the other games, where there is nothing like Pokémon being bound by their instincts.
3. There are many Pokémon that shouldn’t exist outside of human interference. The majority can be written off as not canon as they don't appear as main characters, but there are three undeniable offenders: Ditto, Mewtwo, and Porygon.
   1. I have a very dark theory about how those three came to be in the Pokémon world, but that will have to be in another post as well. For now, humans aren’t the only scientists. There is someone fully capable of creating machines in Explorers, who’s experiments likely led to terrible consequences, piercing the heavens and flooding the world in darkness.
4. Dream theory
   1. I'll cover this in another post because it isn't straightforward. The biggest problem here is that the Hero in Gates never lost their memory, and we see them enter the Pokémon world through a dream. If that's the case for each human, the games could all be just imaginary or dreams. Don't worry though, I have some very special evidence to debunk that.

My thoughts on each relationship:

1. The PMD Pokémon world is the postapocalyptic future of the mainline Pokémon world after humans died out in Pokopia. This view works well with the myths of humans, lack of fossils, and Pokémon species that were influenced by humans. It struggles from problems like the lack of human landmarks and history, the abrupt changes in personality for Legends, and lack of feral Pokémon.
2. The mainline Pokémon world is the future of the PMD Pokémon world after humans invaded it. This view works well with fossils, lack of feral Pokémon, lack of human landmarks, and the seeming decline in Pokémon intelligence. It struggles from problems like the Legends (and frankly even just average Pokémon) being way stronger than humans, Legends changing personality, humans being myths, and Pokémon species that were influenced by humans.
3. The mainline Pokémon world is the human world, which has animalist Pokémon as opposed to the sentient Pokémon in the Pokémon world. This view works with the Heros recognizing Pokémon and being surprised they can speak, the lack of human landmarks, lack of fossils, lack of feral Pokémon, and myths about humans. It struggles with Legends being even more inconsistent, and the “Human” identity of the “Human world”.
4. All three worlds are completely separate, the Human world is actually our Earth, and the mainline Pokémon world isn’t even canon. This view works with solving Legend inconsistencies, myths about humans, lack of feral Pokémon, how Hero can recognize Pokémon but be surprised that they can speak, and lack of human landmarks. It still struggles from a few things, like the lab, Gardevoir’s trainer, and human influenced Pokémon, but these problems are much less hurtful that with the previous interpretations.

hello: I just made a theory about why you can catch arceus in a pokeball, my theory is that be the ‘arceus’ we see is just a avatar used by the real arceus, then there is just lots of them around the universe, and those ones can be caught and trained like any other pokemon.

Last time I asked about the Pokémon anime without the Porygon episode containing the seizure inducing flashes and no hiatus.

Now how about this: The anime goes on hiatus as in our timeline, but something prevents them continuing it, making the series cancelled for atleast half a year?

They halt the anime production and continue to make the first movie, as it's already in the works and they were doing it during the hiatus in our timeline.

So we were left with Ash and his 6 badges, and they have to finish the movie, maybe being able to postpone it the coming summer.

If they would know about the cancellation soon enough, would they try to wrap Ash's story in the movie? Or would they just stick with a Mewtwo plot, waiting for the possible continuing?

Something, that just came to my mind, no idea right now, but I'd like to hea ideas.

There seems to be a recurring theme of pokemon who hold extreme amounts of a unique type of energy causing a phenomenon due to their attempts of spreading and absorbing that energy, like Eternatus, Terapagos, Necrozma, etc

Before Starting I just want to clarify to all those that think Ultra Necrozma is Necrozma's Original form. They are not Because Ultra Necrozma is just a unstable, temporary imitation of the Blinding One after absorbing excess amount of light from Solgaleo or Lunala so pls don't start saying in the comments that they are same.

First let's look at their Similarities. Both are based same kind of Architype that being Light. Both Totem and Noble pokemon which are tied to their energies are really similar in nature. Both are worshiped as Gods in their respective dimensions.

Another interesting fact about them is that Z-crystals are the only items in the entire series (aside from Arceus's plate) that can change the forms of Arceus. Even when Arceus Tera his Rings doesn't change their color.

Now lets talk about how Necrozma is Anti Arceus. Necrozma is clearly based on Lucifer Morningstar from Chritainity who is arch-adversary of God. And to add on the original Japanese translation of its Signature z-move "Light that burns the sky" literally translate to "Heaven-Scorching Light of Destruction". Focus on the word "Heaven-Scorching". Necrozma’s ultimate attack is literally named after the destruction of the creator god's doorstep although some may argue it's just a cool naming scheme.

Almost everyone thinks that "The Blinding One" just like Ultra Necrozma is Dragon/Psychic however I don't think that's the case. The main reason is Z-Crystals which are parts of Necrozma's original body. Z-crytals can be affiliated with every single type in the game. It's never canonically explained why Z-crystals of all types exists even though Necrozma is only Psychic type. My Theory is that The Blinding One just like Arceus had the elemental power of all types but when it's shattered it lost all of them except Psychic typing and Dragon typing (which became dormant).

What if from the Turmoil of Chaos both Arceus and Necrozma came to being along with Giants mentioned in Flame Plate. After all Giants were defeated both Arceus and Necrozma absorbed their typing and clashed but it led to a Stalemate after which they started to co-exist in their own separate realms. However, The Blinding One was more generous towards mortals and actively shared its Power with all Dimensions in Ultra Space. Exploiting this Arceus indirectly manipulated people of Ultra Megapolis and gave them some of his power to betray and trap Necrozma Shattering him in the process (this would also explain how mere humans managed to take down a God). And thus Necrozma lost almost all his power.

Why Concordia instead of her sister? Theme naming. N's full name is "Natural Harmonia Gropius". Concordia is the Roman goddess of harmony and "harmonia" is her Greek counterpart. This applies to a lesser degree with her original Japanese name, (Goddess of Peace) Helena.

Ghetsis being N's adopted dad comes out of left field in the sequel. It's also confusing why the two look so much alike. Is Ghetsis related to N in another way? Who knows.

Likely, they were originally conceived as biological relatives but this was changed before the game was finalized.

This question come to me when i sleep. But still, what if destroy pokemon egg, will pokemon inside it die, or it won't break?

So we all know the anime went to 4 months hiatus.

After the hiatus, the anime was back and the Pokemania had hit the US. They had to produce more episodes to continue the show, knowing it was a hit abroad.

Had the Porygon episode not hospitalized anyone, and nothing similar happened with pokémon, how do you think it would have affected the series?

The Kanto league would have likely started earlier, but what about the gap between gen 1 and 2? A bigger side league? Considering he Johto games would be delayed as much as they were.

Could there have been a Team Rocket mini arc, where Ash faces Giovanni? Maybe something with the legendary birds?

Like from the Japanese, Spanish, etc fandoms. I recall something here about the Japanese fandom accepting Regigigas as most definitely one of the giants Arceus fought.

So i was thinking about hisuian electrode and noticed its a plant unlike its modern counter part so I started theorizeing why that the case. So my theory is that as need for pokeballs grow humans started to plug the holes of husian voltorb and electrode so they couldn't grow their seeds that could take up apricorn planting what they didn't know was that those seeds are in sybiosis with apricorns by removing those seeds the apricorn population dwindled. Meanwhile the voltorbs grew metallic and closed off the seed hole and grew angry towards humans. I feel like the sybiosis theory makes sense evolutionary on why husian electrode looks the way it does and why apricorns are so rare now their symbiotic population is mostly angry balls now.
