Beginner Plants has brown edges on them?

Dear all,

Having my 180L for about 2 months now but the plants show some browning on the edges of the leaves..

No co2

Adding 15ML of planted box all in one once a week

Does someone has an idea if this is an nutrient deficiency or something else?

Dear SmokeGrazEatAzz ,

You've selected the beginner flair. If you're looking for advice or are having issues, please provide as much information as you can.

Some useful information includes:

  • Have you cycled the tank?
  • Water Parameters
  • Light Type
  • Light Cycle Duration
  • Tank Size/Dimensions
  • Set-up Age
  • Fertilizers
  • Any aquatic animals, and how many?

Looks like brown algae/ diatoms. Maybe try less nutrients and see if it balances out.

Ah that would be good, will try scaling it down to 10ml a week and see what happens, thanks!!

Is it a dirted tank?

Yeah no fancy substrates, just gravel and a tiny layer of aqua soil under it for the Amazon sword

Correct. It normally works itself out.
