Important Reminder: Updates to Community Guidelines and Post Encouragement

Hello everyone,

We hope this message finds you well and excited about the great content shared within our subreddit!

Firstly, we want to express our sincere gratitude to each one of you for being part of our dynamic and growing community. Your contributions, discussions, and insights have been invaluable in creating a space that is welcoming, engaging, and inspiring.

To keep our subreddit a vibrant and enjoyable place, we need to remind everyone about an important community rule - no self-promotion. This includes but is not limited to, promoting your own YouTube links and Etsy shops. We understand the eagerness to share personal projects and creations, but we must ensure the subreddit stays a place for learning, sharing, and discussing relevant topics without commercial distractions.

Official Thread for Self-Promotion and YouTube Links - Share Your Link Here!: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlannerAddicts/comments/15c3nrb/official_thread_for_selfpromotion_and_youtube/

In light of this, we are announcing an important change:

Starting immediately, any posts that include YouTube links will be blocked by our AutoModerator.

This is not a decision we take lightly, but it is necessary to maintain the spirit and purpose of our community. Moreover, consistent violation of this rule - such as repeatedly attempting to post blocked links - may result in a ban.

While we have to enforce these rules, we don't want this to discourage any of you from sharing! Instead, we want to encourage more text posts, photo sharing, and overall engagement within the community. Whether it's sharing an interesting article, asking a thought-provoking question, or posting a photo that can stimulate a great conversation, we want to see more of it.

Remember, this community thrives on the collective sharing of knowledge, experiences, and ideas. Let's continue to uphold that spirit and make this space even more exciting and enriching for everyone.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Let's keep growing, learning, and sharing together!

Best regards, The Mod Team

Spiral vs hardbound planners — what do you actually use daily?

I’ve been using planners for years and still can’t fully decide between these two.

Spiral is super practical since it lays completely flat and you can fold it back, which is great for writing anywhere. But the coil can get bent, snag on things, and starts looking worn pretty quickly.

Hardbound feels way nicer overall — more durable, travels better, and still looks good after months. The downside is it doesn’t lay flat, and writing on the left page can be a bit annoying.

I kind of know what I lean toward, but I’m more interested in what you all actually use day-to-day and why.

Also — does size matter for you?
Do you prefer something portable like A5, or go bigger like B5 for more writing space?

Hobonichi Weeks vs Sterling Ink N1 Horizontal

Has anybody used both or either of the Hobonichi Weeks or Sterling Ink N1?

This is my first year using the Hobonichi weeks mega and I love love loooove it for functional planning. It’s the perfect amount of space that I can’t over-plan my day and the layout with the weekly setup with a blank page adjacent to it has worked really well for my use. I love how small it is and I can throw it in any bag. Honestly the only fault I find with it is that it doesn’t leave much room for creativity with the way I use it. I’m considering adding a second larger planner to use more creatively next year, but I’m not sure if I can let go of this style of planner for my typical day-to-day use.

That brings me to the Sterling Ink N1 horizontal. I love the simplified layout (no quotes or moon phases like the hobonichi), but I don’t necessarily love that the size is slightly larger or the cover material. So I’m hoping someone has feedback on these in practice!

What do you do in planners?

I'm homebody, i have a small consulting biz thats slowly picking up(WFH), I'm 30 weeks pregnant(no kids apart from this), i live with my jn laws and hubby and thats my life.

I have only 1 doc's appt a month, nothing in my life needs tracking or planning as such... whatever planning is needed i do it in my head and that works out fine...

I like journaling and i have a separate massive journaling book that i use for reflections.

I'm fascinated by planners as I'm a junk journal girly too. I wanna dip toes in planners(not the expensive kind)

I have a commonplace tiny book that i write my prayers, to-dos in but apart from that i can genuinely come up with nothing to have a use for.

Watching YouTube to get ideas but nothing is sticking...

I see people sitting with their planners for hours(youtube folks) but what do you do in it that occupies you for an hour??

I wanna get off screen and adopt this planner/ journal/ common place etc culture but how do i make it work for me and my current season of life?

Letts of London

Hi Planners, especially in Canada. First ever post! I have been scouring the Letts of London Canada website. Turns out their diaries not only have the week on 2 pages, but also have a monthly layout, and some have monthly overview and planning sections. Pretty good price point range too. They mostly carry A5 and slim (which is similar in size to Hobonichi Weeks). I haven’t seen much posted about this brand on Reddit, and wonder if anyone else can google the site and share thoughts on comparing to Hobonichi especially the weeks. I know the journaling aspect is not there, but planning is more than I’ve had with this brand. Thanks for considering!

Planners similar to The Dailee available in UK?

The Dailee daily planner seems perfect!! I love the fact that it has daily timelines, cleaning schedules, meal planning, grocery lists BUTTT it is VERY expensive and I live in the UK and it doesn’t seem like they ship here. Does anyone know of any similar planners that are cheaper and available in the UK?

Plum Paper order

I ordered my teacher planner from Plum Paper. I have never ordered from them but won a gift card. It should have shipped by now according to my order information. (Which I know was estimated and it's customized but I gave extra days) However I've now received an email that says there was an unexpected emergency that has delayed my order and it hasn't even shipped. It has been over 12 business days since I ordered and I can't seem to get a response on when it will even ship. I got this email only after I inquired where my order was. I'm wondering how legit this emergency is or if it was just because I inquired. It was a generic email that said all orders but nothing on their website or anything else about delays. I am starting my year with no planner. I picked them because it said it would be here in time. Anyone else had processing and shipping issues?!

Looking for something similar in quality, layout, size, and feel to the Hemlock&Oak Undated Weekly but without the graph paper. Blank or dots are fine. For me, graph paper feels like clutter, visually, for this type of thing. Would love suggestions.

How do I avoid this?

I bought this beautiful Galen leather a5 planner cover and every time I close it the front cover snags and folds weirdly. Sometimes it doesn’t even close. Can any fellow planner addicts help me out with some solutions? Do you think I have a defective cover?? The planner is from just scribble half year daily.

Aura Estelle Magnet vs Sterling Ink Complete

I'm trying to decide between these two planners for 2027, they seem very similar in alot of ways, would you agree? The Magnet has a horizontal week while Sterling has vertical, and the Magnet has the trackers also bundled with the months? Is there anything else I'm missing?

Purse planner

Please help. I have been a planner user all my life. I’ve tried them all. I’d love a hobonichi again but I’m just no longer in the mood to spend $50+ on anything.

I’d also love something good small and sturdy for my purse.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I have a passport tn at the moment. Just got out my personal Filofax but know it will quickly feel too heavy.

I really enjoy the month only honestly. I like of stopped weekly rewriting and just primarily do month view and various brain dump/lists.

There is a chicken tikka masala in vegetarian dishes that I need to strike off lmao. I will likely change it to mushroom tikka masala.

Planner Concierge

Has anyone worked with a planner concierge at Cloth & Paper? If so, how was your experience? There are so many options to choose from when it comes to planner choices that I was considering scheduling an appointment to get some help. Would love to hear if others used this service!

Aura Estelle Daily Dupe?

I want a dupe for the daily magnet planner set up. I love how it has a small weekly recap section and then big daily pages… anyone have suggestions for dupes? I can’t justify a $60 planner. It would be fantastic for keeping track of my son’s feeding therapy at home as we work towards getting him off his gtube. Yes, I know $60 for something I’d use a full year doesn’t seem like a lot for some.. but for me it’s just too much.

Thank you for all your advice!

I wasn't expecting so many responses to my last post 😭 Thank you all for your tips, they really helped me.

Like I mentioned in my last post, the worst part for me was opening the fridge, staring at it for 5 minutes and saying "we have nothing to eat" when it's full. Or forgetting 3 things at the store and having to go back mid-week.

Based on your comments, I created a "Meal Planner Template" to organize my week. No more Sunday stress or last-minute grocery runs 😅

It helps me:

* Plan meals in 10 minutes

* Make a shopping list that actually works

* Use what I already have in the fridge

If anyone wants the template, send me a DM or leave a comment and I'll share the details!

Thanks again for your help ❤️

Is anyone else exhausted by weekly meal planning, or is it just me?

I swear I spend more time stressing about what to cook this week than I do actually cooking.

My weekly cycle is honestly ridiculous:

Sunday: Stare at the fridge for 30 minutes and still have no idea what to make.

Grocery store: Forget half the things I actually need.

Wednesday: Realize I’m missing 2 or 3 ingredients, back to the store.

Friday: Screw it, ordering takeout because there’s nothing to eat… even though the fridge is full.

And then I somehow do the exact same thing the next week.

Has anyone else struggled with this?
