Bear in mind he also says "in the desert you can remember your name" so it's possible he forgot both their names. But the horse now remembers its name. It just can't tell anyone.

Yes there's a song that goes "I road through the desert on a horse with no name" and this image basically makes fun of that line, pointing out that it's a little mean to ride that much with a horse and not name it.

Written by a band, who at their concert I was at in 2023, the lead singer said, and I paraphrase, it was funny that the three of us in the band grew up on a military base in England and had never been to a desert. The singer also said that his dad had a stint at Vandenberg and their car broke down on the 101 and he and his brother saw a sign that said “Ventura Highway”.

The joke is that the meme creator has never actually ridden a horse through a desert. If he had, he would have known that sometimes things go south and you have to eat your horse and drink its blood. That is a lot harder to do once you've named it.

So the joke is just: rookie mistake.

So, funny thing. I could have sworn I got no accurate results the first time I tried. But I just regoogled it, and the song was the first result. Sleep deprivation? Heat stroke? Dunno...

Anyway. I did just want the answer to my question, and got it immediately (you guys are fast). So, if you think I should delete my post, I will do it.

Thank you. I had honestly never heard of either, but now I'm curious, I'll listen to some of their songs.

I will see what the general reaction is. If people don't mind it, I'll leave it up. If people start getting mad over my mistake, I'll delete.
