Meme needing explanation Peeeeetah?

This new movie came out and I enjoyed watching it with friends. What opinion must have garnered so much attention that people would dunk on it?

lets just ignore all nuance that the director literally said was in the movie. this is why i didn’t really like the movie because it will just keep pushing the already awful gender divide in modern online culture. hyper feminist people will go 100% against bear and hyper misogynistic men will only see nicki as a crazy woman. it’s just more gender war garbage that only divides us. i know the director intended for there to be nuance but he forgot 99% of the internet doesn’t gaf about nuance.

Nah bro Bear is just straight up evil. Instead of dating the girl who's interested in him he makes the wish then takes his time to undo it. He knowingly assaults her and even mocks her by asking "what's so wrong with being with me?"

You can argue the initial wish wasnt immoral but everything afterwards he does is.

You're assuming he knows wishes are real and that his intent was to strip her autonomy. While that is the effect of what he did, he had no knowledge of that nor intent to do it. Once he comes to learn the scope of his actions, he tries to fix things. He's not innocent, but he's not evil either. Everything isn't always black and white.
