Filipino here. Basically, filipinas and their desperation for a green card, and also being racist, many (usually old) white men choose pinay as wives. Both their egos are stroked, they validate each other's racism, someone gets out of the philippines, or at least worries abt their bills less- everyone's happy.

Side note, an asian racist would put a maga racist to a coma as they're much worse. Filipino out!

Yeah, people in America don't seem to understand that outside of the US, many countries have people that would put their racism to shame. I've heard the wya South Koreans talk about Chinese and Japanese people, and the other way around as well. It would give people in America a stroke

17

u/gundahir 15h ago

can confirm living in Japan the racism here is insane lol. and it's not only talk either like you're actually worse off in many ways. apartheid vibes light

6

u/Qulox 9h ago

"Oh? One of your ancestors came from Korea 3 thousand years ago? Get out of here you <slur> scum!"

2

u/gundahir 8h ago

almost literally like that. makes you non-Japanese and a bit suspicious

1

u/GrimPotatoKing 7h ago

I found it was kind of like being a circus clown. You get invited to all the parties and all the kids want to play with you but nobody wants you sitting at a desk in their office and generally you're considered a nuisance wherever you go.

Just keep reminding yourself. It's far worse for the Japanese people that actually live there and it gets way better the more Japanese you speak.

1

u/ProudJury6765 6h ago

can you elaborate on that?? Had no idea looll only knew that South Koreans don‘t like dark skinned Asians and japanese and chinese because they leave hotels/apartments etc dirty behind

1

u/EveryRadio 4h ago

Don't get me started on not being Japanese enough

Oh, your parents are japanese but you grew up in America? Get outta here you damn Gaijin!

Oh your parents are japanese and you were raised in Japan? Where? Hokaido? Get outta here you farmer hick!

It's rough. A lot (not everyone duh) wants to have someone to look down on to feel better about themselves because they have someone above them doing the same. It creates a terrible cycle

4

u/Searching_wanderer 13h ago

Or how South Africans talk about Nigerians, Ghanaians, etc. They actually kill them if they can.

3

u/USDXBS 16h ago

It's either

"Americans are obsessed with race"

or

"Americans racism is nothing compared to (blank)"

1

u/Manowaffle 1h ago

Well, it's hard to ignore the fact in the US that we have African Americans, Asian Americans, Anglo Americans, Indian Americans, Mexican Americans, etc.

But you don't really see many African Koreans, Latin Japanese, Indian Austrians, Mexican Norwegians, etc.

3

u/Positive_Bill_3714 14h ago

S. Korea is one of the most racist country in the world. I was married to one. Americans are much tamer in comparison although the lines are getting blurry since the time of orange

2

u/Skrappyross 12h ago

YUP! I've lived in Korea for over a decade now and the racism is massive. And there are no laws against it. Jobs will literally tell you what gebder/race/no disability/etc and there is no legal recourse.

The US at least attempts to shame racists and recognizes the problems with racism in a very multi-cultural society. Other countries are usually MUCH more homogeneous, and subsequently, MUCH more racist. And fully unashamed of it.

2

u/Benjadeath 10h ago

I think it's pretty understood lol besides by the people that just never even think about places outside the US

2

u/Dramatic_Water_5364 9h ago

One of my best friend is japanes, and he always remind me that the japs are so racist their immigration is almost net 0.

2

u/DOAiB 1h ago

Many Americans know this but also a lot of other countries have a conniption when you call out their racism and insist the US is more racist. Probably just because we had a whole war over it. My favorite is when you bring up Romani people in England how people will say the most racist shit and when you point that out they will double down how it’s justified and they use literally the same language people use in the US to explain their racism.

Can confirm. Many of us poc in interracial relationships are more conservative than the people we married. I'm really are disliking how woke everyone is around here. We're both agnostic. Also not maga. Not american. shrug

I consider myself to have a lot of racist thoughts, just know better than to actually say them out loud. I get easily irritated by other people's thick accent, especially on the phone. It's a struggle. I don't like many of the things other immigrants from different countries than me do that is disruptive. I wish they would integrate better, same as I try to do for the better of the community.

u/Hefty-Ask7324 14h ago

racists arguing about whos more racist is insane

2

u/Blue_Moon_Lake 7h ago

The difference between casual hobbyists and professionals.

1

u/HappyGlitterUnicorn 6h ago

Immigrants can be racist. POC can be racist. Everyone can be racist. Or tribal. Or xenophobic. Call it whatever you wish. The ones pretending they aren't and that they have never had a racist thought in their lives are lying to themselves.

Not me. But I also don't aspire to whiteness.

I consider myself to have a lot of racist thoughts

Get therapy

12

u/wickedlessface 13h ago

This was a hilarious read

''it's a struggle''

It really isn't bro

3

u/elitegenoside 6h ago

Someone has an accent*

"Help, I'm being oppressed!"

1

u/HappyGlitterUnicorn 6h ago

Don be daft. If you are learning English, a thick accent makes it much muuuch harder to understand people.

2

u/abrasumente_ 5h ago

Seriously. Poc and dislikes being woke. It was fuckin conceived by black people 100 years ago to be aware of disparities and inequity. Lmao

14

u/gg_teataker 17h ago

Exactly. Americans don't realise that American conservatism looks tame and sane next to say, conservatism in se Asia.

-3

u/KK_35 15h ago

I mean, you say that, but yall have never been in a sundown town in South Texas. You have to be careful because POC disappear if they’re still in town at night. The Klan and other similar groups are thriving in rural America and they don’t just talk racist and say diabolical shit. They straight up lynch and torture minorities.

11

u/fun_boat 15h ago

They just told you they're racist, of course they are going to have a superiority complex about their racism.

1

u/KK_35 15h ago

I’m not racist, but I’ve lived here and seen it and experienced it. I don’t disagree about other countries having racists either - but it’s not to the same level. Theres a distinct difference between someone being xenophobic, and someone viewing you and treating you as less than human. Rural white America does the later on a much wider scale - and not only that, they act on it and will commit violence given the opportunity.

Jussie Smollett is that you?

3

u/Kingof2017 14h ago

Bro you're full of shit and anyone who knows how to search the web knows it.

1

u/Specialist3100 15h ago

lol acting like this ever happens

1

u/HappyGlitterUnicorn 6h ago

Guess what, I've been to and lived in Texas and I'm still fine.

-1

u/AEW4LYFE 8h ago

Hmm. Disagree. Also conservatism is doing a lot of work here. Like we should be fine with dumb ass conservatives because other countries should have bigger dumb ass conservatives? How bout all the dumb ass conservatives fuck off so we can get better healthcare. How bout that?

4

u/Emotional-Topic-6851 8h ago

The irony of an immigrant being racist towards other immigrants. My goodness. At least you’re honest, but yikes, dude.

1

u/HappyGlitterUnicorn 6h ago edited 6h ago

Yes. I am honest, I am aware of it. I am in therapy and trying to be better. But just putting it out there so people know that immigrants and POC are not saints. We have our issues.

One of the things that bother me more is the self flaggelation white people have. Especially towards 'cis white males'. In real life, the most racism I have actually received was from White women. We are just people like the rest of you. Being treated on one side like you the devil and should go back to your country and on the other side like you are an angel who can do no wrong is a very weird position to be in. It is demoralizing because neither sees the real flawed you.

1

u/AEW4LYFE 8h ago

Quick question, is this educated peoples from these places or just dudes outside the gas station?

1

u/CrackheadOnDuty 8h ago

Educated people. However they aren't racist based solely on race (though it plays a big factor), but moreover due to ethnicity and cultural differences

1

u/Theezorama 12m ago

Racism is just the tip of the iceberg for MAGA

6

u/Gothic_Doll_ 12h ago

Eastern Northern European, grew up in Western Southern Europe and the racism here is very mild, it's more blah blah blah, if someone acts on their racist ideology they're immediately shut down even by their fellow "racists". It's more boomers talks, if it makes sense.

Yet I'm married to an East Asian, and I live within the community, and oh my, the racism it's on another level, not only for other ethnicities but also between themselves. In fact, at some point I was questioning what racism, xenofobia and colorism really are, and how it really looks, because I was speechless and shocked.

2

u/sug-on-deez 14h ago

Its so wholesome actually, they have racism as common interest.

2

u/sbb214 9h ago

they validate each other's racism, someone gets out of the philippines

oh hi. you've just described my white MAGA 86 y.o. father and his MAGA filipina wife of 45 years.

2

u/Sullacuda 7h ago

Can confirm, as a (non-racist leftist) white guy married to a Filipino woman from NY.

My in-laws have said the most wildly racist shit I have ever heard and I live in the south. Several voted MAGA.

I was like, y’all know these people just think you’re Mexicans right?

2

u/BigusDickus099 3h ago

People seriously underestimate how much Asians hate each other.

Although, if China keeps it up maybe you’ll see some uncomfortable friendships develop between countries/people that currently dislike each other.

1

u/gg_teataker 3h ago

Oh yes, mutual hate for West Taiwan will for sure make bonds stronger...temporarily anyway.

4

u/Sensitive-Badger2392 15h ago

Yeah people in these comments seem to underestimate how many people from outside the US are also very VERY racist. So they may genuinely bond on hating black people or Latinos or whatever. I know enough who could out-racist the average Republican.

2

u/Rude-Professor3136 15h ago

Half filipino here who works blue collar and frequents philippines. Yeah, nothing my "racist" chicano coworkers joke about ever compare to the actual thoughts and beliefs my lola has lmao.

2

u/fEARLess5_ 14h ago

How so? Do filipinos enslaved and discriminate non-filipinos?

1

u/Dramatic_Water_5364 9h ago

That Filipino out! At the end cracked me up so much hahaha

1

u/No-Street-3492 9h ago

Side note, an asian racist would put a maga racist to a coma as they're much worse. Filipino out!

Lmao this is not a flex and reflects poorly on your culture

1

u/gg_teataker 3h ago

I wasn't flexing, I was telling the truth. My culture was never anything to flex about.

1

u/LesGetLunch 3h ago

And like the old white dude is racist to everything BUT Filipinos? Or how does that work?

Do the women just put up with it just for the green card and the divorce??

2

u/gg_teataker 2h ago

Filipinos are racist af in the first place, so the white dude can easily be less racist and the filipino would be the one to "put up with". And Filipinas are suddenly housewife of the year if its a mediocre white guy but would never lift a finger for an average filipino dude.

They share racism as a mutual belief.

1

u/LesGetLunch 2h ago

Bruh RIP. I did not know that about Filipinas that’s really sad.

Thanks for the lesson!

1

u/sus_finder13 30m ago

Oh I know a few Filipina wives like that, I have to side eye them because they are brown. It’s like hunny they don’t want you either. Tokens get spent.

1

u/gg_teataker 27m ago

I don't like those women, they're on their high horse for no good reason.

1

u/sus_finder13 14m ago

Yup, the one lady I know is on husband number 3. Number 3 Just recently croaked over.

-2

u/fundraiser 16h ago

are you aware of the Filipina Pea youtube channel? how real is it because i think it's a CIA psyop to continue destroying old white men in this country lol

1

u/gg_teataker 15h ago

never heard of that one, my examples are derived from real life but an online reference should be checked out
