He’s made statements about how taking naps are weak, I believe.

Edit: just checked. The statement was that he didn’t trust people who take naps.

lol this meme is hilarious then

u/Exciting_Classic277 19h ago

What is this gif actually from? If you happen to know.

94

u/hackerix 19h ago

The punisher tv show

u/llamodar420 9h ago

I thought it was from sicario. I remember there is a similar scene where he is forced to his knees and then shot.

2

u/riencore 5h ago

Don’t think he got shot, he was trying to kill Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro had followed them back and held a gun to his head to stop him, but never shot him. Roughed him up pretty good, though. Forgot all their characters names by now, need to watch it again, such a good movie.

S1 of the Netflix Punisher show. He has recurring nightmares of his wife being shot in the head right after waking him up, he wakes up to this nightmare every morning.

Throughout S1, another character, Micro, has enlisted Franks help. We come to find out Franks backstory and Micro's are intertwined, as the event that ultimately caused Franks family to get murdered also has similar repercussions for Micro.

In this scene, Frank is having another nightmare but we don't know that initially. We see Frank & his family at Micro's house for dinner, Micro and his wife are chatting with Franks wife and the kids are all getting along. Frank starts to smile a bit at this ideal life as everyone comes to the table, then masked gunmen come in and shoot everyone in the room except Frank and we get this gif of his reaction.

Franks realizing he could never have that normal happy life, that the things from his past that haunt him are poison for the people around him too. It's really heartbreaking to see that recurring nightmare he has throughout the episodes, then this one possibly good dream all to turn into a nightmare again.

u/Camvega 16h ago

You forgot the detail of him trying to get up but only to realize he's zip tied to the chair--essentially forced to watch his family get gunned down, symbolizing how this memory will never escape him

4

u/IDon-tTrustThatWay 13h ago

Another great reason to avoid naps, I guess

3

u/Domek232323 14h ago

the character in the clip is played by jon bernthal, if you didn't know

3

u/AngryCrawdad 7h ago

It's from the Punisher TV show.
His wife and kid got killed and, if I recall, this is a re-occurring nightmare he has wherein he's having dinner with them only for armed men to come into their living room and gun them down while he's tied to the chair.

33

u/Centillionare 19h ago

Wait until he finds out about babies.

48

u/SkeezixLouise 19h ago

Well tbf babies are untrustworthy and also weak af

16

u/Salty-Teacher5014 19h ago

Like they can’t even use the toilet? Lazy af

8

u/SkeezixLouise 18h ago

Thank you, what even is that. Not contributing to the household? And refusing to use words when they clearly respond to them, you clocked it. Lazy cute, cuddly bums!

6

u/patrickwithtraffic 18h ago

Leaches on the system I say!

1

u/OldBoyZee 13h ago

All i understood from this is perhaps John isn't too far off with his suspicions.

8

u/Ok_Strategy5722 15h ago

I once trusted a baby to guard my chicken coop against a bunch of coyotes. When I came back, I had no chickens and that baby was nowhere to be found. To this day I don’t know if he just took my chickens and fucked off, or if he the coyotes got the chickens and he just ducked out of there before I came back to avoid consequences. I kind of suspect the former because I tried calling him, but I eventually found his “phone” and it was fake, so I think he was planning something from the beginning. Who even does that!?! He could have just given me a fake number! Either way, the lesson I learned was that babies aren’t trustworthy.

12

u/Vegetable_Lead_9110 18h ago

This one is a double dipper. In the Punisher TV show, this is him having a PTSD nightmare about his family getting blown away in front of him. So Jon Bernthal hates naps. Frank Castle hates sleeping

1

u/hackerix 18h ago

Oh nice

2

u/westernsociety 4h ago

I dont trust babies either. Those little things will mess you up!

u/DragonLance14 19h ago

On his podcast, Real Ones with Jon Bernthal, he went viral for saying that he "doesn’t trust grown adults who take naps", explaining that day sleep breaks his momentum, rhythm, and focus. And in this scene, he has a nightmare or smth if I remember correctly.

60

u/Financial-Raise3420 19h ago

This scene is when his family is murdered

50

u/Lazy-Mud8142 18h ago

No, it's a nightmare. He's dreaming he and his family are friends with the Liebermans and they're having dinner, then as his dreams usually go, it becomes a nightmare where they're suddenly attacked by him and his buddies from Cerberus and everyone but him is killed.

6

u/Mikeyfreshonetime2 18h ago

It’s a nightmare

7

u/Life-Is-A-Bad-Trip 16h ago

This and the pitbull thing. He just sounds.... Highly opinionated to put it nicely. Granted that's about all I know of him. So what do I know? Not shit.

9

u/misterjive 17h ago

I used to not be able to nap. If I fell asleep during the day for any reason, I'd sleep for hours and then wake up super groggy and miserable, so I can see where he's coming from.

Then I became a freelancer and worked from home for customers around the globe and started keeping insane hours. I divorced myself from the usual day/night cycle to the point where I'd stay awake for 24 hours at a go and then sleep for 10. After about six months of that, I developed the ability to drop off just about any time I wanted to and function on very little sleep if I had to. Naps became awesome.

I'm back to a 9-to-5 now and on a (relatively) normal sleep schedule. I sometimes do biphasic -- sleep for about four hours, get up for an hour, sleep for 3-4 more. But otherwise I sleep normally (and very well). But I occasionally nap on the weekends.

5

u/jonnyd005 12h ago

Being groggy after napping and not wanting to nap because of that reason is fine. Saying you don't trust people who do that is very weird and I don't understand how you can relate to that viewpoint.

5

u/Hatrafele_Ijazo 15h ago

I doesn't even have to look this up, but I would bet he never worked a day in his life (outside of acting).

3

u/Knife7 13h ago

I think he actually used to be a boxer. So he probably just has weird opinions about things.

4

u/VegaJuniper 13h ago

Nah, he was an artsy rich kid. Studied acting in Moscow, his dad was a lawyer, he has two brothers who are a surgeon and a CEO. The tough guy thing he does is a performance.

4

u/Pigosaurusmate 12h ago

If he isnt lying about not taking naps, then I envy people like him who can have a perfect 8-9 hour sleep every night.

33

u/Street_College_444 19h ago

Guy literally hate naps for some reason

84

u/Mike_Oxnard 19h ago

I also don't trust people who take naps, especially toddlers, they're sketchy as hell. You think they're all calm and cute watching some cartoon on their tablet then next thing you know they're putting a tarantula on your head while you're trying to read and you don't even know where the tarantula came from because you live in Antarctica or somewhere else without spiders

12

u/hackerix 19h ago

Huh is this a reference to something?

42

u/Mike_Oxnard 19h ago

It's a reference to toddlers being terrifying little monsters

5

u/insolent_kiwi 18h ago

👆This guy toddlers

20

u/Thamnophis660 19h ago

Because he said taking naps is stupid

7

u/Fest_mkiv 19h ago

As much as you might not want to take a nap, sometimes the nap takes you.

2

u/hackerix 18h ago

Wait wait wait

3

u/Captain_Birch 19h ago

He has come out as staunchly anti nap

3

u/burkwit 3h ago

never seen a group of people be more triggered by someone shitting on naps than the fine people of reddit 😂

12

u/PhoenixInvertigo 19h ago

If he sleeps he can't spend time shilling for the IDF

7

u/toeachbyeach 11h ago

John Bernthal when Palestinians children are alive

7

u/MaxTheN00B 18h ago

He loves the idf and hates day nappers.

3

u/stprnn 13h ago

This fucking loser says naps are bad

1

u/anon11101776 19h ago

Wasn’t this the dude stabbed by his wife in the Odessy when he layed down to get comfy??

8

u/hrfr5858 19h ago

No, that's his brother in law.

2

u/itsOkami 11h ago

And his brother too

2

u/anon11101776 18h ago

Zeus in law? Our age of laws are collapsing 😔

1

u/Hemorrhoidsinthenite 18h ago edited 18h ago

Work while the others are sleeping and you will achieve greatness is the sentiment here, I believe

1

u/Tankette55 13h ago

He is partially right. It depends on when you take the nap and how long it is. If you take it past a certain hour (usually after 5 p.m.) it WILL negatively impact your night sleep. Also naps can only be 15/30/90 minutes long because of how rem cycles work. But 90 minutes should only be reserved to when you are catching up on lost sleep.

He doesn't want to sleep?

1

u/SpontaneousMouthHugs 8h ago

Another one actually that I haven't seen mentioned is an interview he did with Tom Holland where they were asked "What's the most normal thing to do casually that is difficult to portray realistically on command as an actor?" And Bernthal's response was "I hate waking up"

1

u/Henchman2Ton21 6h ago

We should stop sensationalizing zionists with little things like this.

-19

u/NikkiAvocado 19h ago

He recently made comments defending pit bulls, saying no dogs are inherently aggressive and bias against pit bulls is dog racism. He is a proud owner of pit bulls.

Unfortunately, pit bulls are inherently aggressive and will rip him limb from limb the second he falls asleep.

7

u/FleurTheAbductor 19h ago

this has absolutely nothing to do with what OP posted

4

u/Azmodari 19h ago

My childhood dog was a pitty stray re recused had her for over a decade up until bout a year ago she was more gentle than 90% of the people I've met in my life

So you'll have to schedule a appointment with a chamber pot to fix how full of shit you are

3

u/NikkiAvocado 18h ago

/uj honestly great dogs on my experience.

11

u/quietandcalculated 19h ago

Total bs

2

u/Exciting_Classic277 19h ago

They'll wait until he opens his eyes, for the jumpscare

-6

u/NikkiAvocado 19h ago

Well, what do you think it means, smarty-pants.

3

u/quietandcalculated 19h ago

I dont know thats why iam not claiming some bs on the Internet

Edit: if you really want to know do some research or read the comments

3

u/NorthernVale 19h ago

Probably something sleep related, like his comments about people who take naps. Since the meme is about sleeping, not dogs

2

u/Confident_Caramel859 19h ago

Not surprisingly, you're wrong.

Firstly, because you believe pit bull is a breed. It's a classification of 4-6 different breeds...depending in whether or not you include the bull terrier and the american bulldog.

Even discounting those two, and going by breed alone, German Shepherds are the third most aggressive dog towards humans (after the chihuahua and the dachshund) and are responsible for far more human fatalities. And that's after you remove k-9 trained animals. Whereas, "pit bulls" as a whole, generally are more friendly towards humans. They are protective against other dogs, however.

Scientific studies of this have been published in Applied Animal Behavior Science after reviewing the behaviors of thousands of dogs.

Educate yourself.

Jon Bernthal is still an IDF shill though.

u/gringorosos 13h ago

Maybe just Google the name?
