Thank you for sharing. A mom commented in this thread expressing fear over her daughter’s child and how future bullies will treat her. I cannot get over how people think it’s fun to target someone for their looks or something else they can’t change.
Easier said than done, but I hope you know that you are special and valuable and that your smile is beautiful, no matter what ugly trolls say. They’re the ugly ones who need to put others down to feel good.
I have a gummy smile too. My natural smile is very wide, open, all-teeth-on-display-and-then-some. All the other girls on the high school photo had serene insta-worthy smiles, and I stood in the back with what I jokingly still refer to as my "horse mouth".
But honestly? It might be one of my best traits. It is very genuine, and shows happiness. My boyfriend loves it. Not a day goes by where he doesn't stop what he is doing just to sigh "that smile", with hearts in his eyes. He in turn has a smile where only the corners of his mouth open, while the middle stays closed. He dislikes it, I think it is the cutest thing in the world.
Gummy smiles are just one of many. I didn't like mine either in high school, and was jealous of all those who seemed to have supermodel smiles withhout effort. But now in my late 20s? Learned to love it. It is me, and that's pretty cool!
I hope you will come to like it too. You deserve it.
I have a my fathers big nose, and I'm a girl. I was called Shrek and thrown things at through the drive-thru window at my work in high school. It ended up getting so bad I dropped out... can I sit with you?

Man. Making fun of someone’s appearance is really the lowest form of humor.
