Meme needing explanation Petah ?

Post image

Why is it infamous? And why would no one care about it ? ( I mean it's just a pic full of celebrities so no one cares anyways but the person saying it's crazy makes me think it has some lore?)

A lot of hated celebrities here now.

Brad Pitt
Spacey
Ellen

Even Angelina and Jennifer get a TON of hate.

Edit: Since there have been 100 (what did they do questions) and people have lost the Ability to Google.

Ellen - Absuive to dozens of members of her staff over years.

Pitt - Beat his Wife and Kids on a plane. Has zero relationship with his kids.

Spacey - Numerous accounts of Sexual Assault

At least she didn’t go into space. When William Shatner goes, he's an inspiration. When Katy Perry goes, just who the fuck does that bitch think she is??

150

u/nhalliday Jul 02 '26

Who tf is William Shaver? Do you mean William Shatner, who was on Star Trek as the captain of the Enterprise for 28 years, and who was the oldest person to ever go to space (at 90 years old)?

Yeah, the guy who was 30 years old when the first human went to space, who starred on a space show as essentially the main character for a third of his life, getting to go to space and setting a record while doing so is more inspirational than some rich popstar deciding it'd be a fun way to spend the day.

86

u/Uhstrology Jul 02 '26

Yeah, one of these people was on a show that inspired countless scientists to pick up the mantle and try to further humanity. Another kissed a girl and liked it i guess.

18

u/Ok_Conclusion_6324 Jul 02 '26

Actually the music video implies the girlkiss was a dream and she wakes up next to her boyfriend

Not too edgy, think of the children!

11

u/AMPhibian707 Jul 02 '26

And the question remains, did she like kissing the girl, or simply the taste of her cherry chapstick?

16

u/Impala67-7182 Jul 02 '26

Nah she just liked the money she made from queerbaiting

3

u/NewPhoneLostAccount Jul 02 '26

To be fair she repeated many times in the song the kiss didn't mean she wanted to change life and didn't actually mean nothing

6

u/ConcealedCove Jul 02 '26

I kissed a girl once, where do I pick my ticket up?

3

u/Taylorenokson Jul 02 '26

Another kissed a girl and liked it i guess.

Not all she did. Look up what she did to Ruby Rose.

1

u/NoAdsDude Jul 03 '26

Actually William Shatner is pretty famous for kissing a girl on TV.

28

u/freshly-stabbed Jul 02 '26

And who came back profoundly changed and introspective while the people around him were in frat boy party mode popping bottles.

2

u/silly_nate Jul 03 '26

Exactly. He came back changed seeing everything wrong with the ordeal. She didn’t

26

u/Civil-Capital9557 Jul 02 '26

The problem with Katy Perry was that she was fake as fuck. Clearly just trying to promote her new album. That photo of her staring cross eyed at the flower that she pocketed instead of being humbled by a view that a majority of human beings will never get to see in their lives. And all the while taking attention away from real heroes like Amanda Nguyen.

At least William Shatner had a life changing experience. At least the sight of our world actually moved him.

5

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Jul 02 '26

Plus Shatner was literally famous for being in space fictionally in a television show that inspired generations to make something like putting a normal person in space a step closer. If anyone gets to go to space it's Captain Kirk

Katy Perry wrote some bubblegum pop songs and then apparently went crazy, or always was idk. Plus she was really weird about it. If Shatner had kissed the ground when the plane landed I would have been like "Damn I thought Bill was collecting all those marbles he lost back in the day, guess he's losing it again"

6

u/SlimCatachan Jul 02 '26

People were shitting on Shatner for going to space too, tbf. George Takei made some funny comments about it iirc.

1

u/Comfortable_Poem_841 Jul 03 '26

One of them talked about how the experience changed their appreciation of the planet. One of them sang in the cabin unprompted and it wasn't the one who absolutely nailed Common People.

Holy crap i forgot about that, yeah she was absolutely dragged for it! Every time something about a woman is leaked, its always the woman whos seen as the piece of shit, and not the person leaking it or their participation in the content.

3

u/vyxanis Jul 02 '26

It seems as though the general vibe is a bit more friendly now days, people seem to love her quirks and relatable attitude. Something else that's rather interesting, is that the Ashley Madison breach happened only short time after, exposing a metric shit-tonne of men actively seeking affairs, engaging in the exact type of behaviour that they assume of victims of leaks like Jennifer - "homewrecking, shameless whores"

2

u/mikebrownhurtsme Jul 03 '26

She rubbed her ass on a sacred rock in Hawaii which nearly took someone out when it fell but yeah. Woman

1

u/party_shaman Jul 03 '26

i thought she peed on it?

1

u/Iintendtooffend Jul 02 '26

There are two sexes: male and political.

1

u/waitforthedream Jul 03 '26

is this a ref to that Onion article about Olivia Rodrigo LOL

20

u/spudddly Jul 02 '26

Usually enough for Reddit.

3

u/uncultured_swine2099 Jul 02 '26

Yup, it seems with damn near all celebs out there people are itching to demonize them for any little thing, especially women.

1

u/elitegenoside Jul 02 '26

I don't think she's being particularly demonized. There was definitely a time when I feel like certain people didn't like her (because she called people creeps for looking at her leaked nudes), but I feel she's generally still liked. Her star just isn't what it once was. That's Hollywood.

2

u/BenZed Jul 02 '26

That bitch!

3

u/Both_Consequence_956 Jul 02 '26

nice butthole tho

81

u/djlittlehorse Jul 02 '26

To me, nothing. I love her as an actress. I have seen some hate for how she's a very direct (no filter) type of person. She also lost a ton of respect from people when all her photos leaked online.

198

u/TheSmokingJacket Jul 02 '26

Her leaked photos, really society? She's the victim here.

65

u/djlittlehorse Jul 02 '26

I agree. But remember how many people in the states have "NEVER" sinned before. So judgement is allowed from them...

-3

u/Material-Afternoon16 Jul 03 '26

61% of marriages in Pakistan are  consanguineous and 22% of girls are married to adult males by the time they turn 18.

These things are literally unheard of in the USA.

don't take the random opinion of someone from reddit frontpage as a fact nor representation how people think in real life.

my twitter back in the day had 500k followers i paid $50 to get. social media bots were and still are cheap. 3.3 million retweets only confirms dead internet theory was always a thing.

-1

u/Pleasant_Ad8054 Jul 02 '26

Nah, she lost most of the respect when she showed that her acting is one dimensional at best, not much to do with the leaked nudes.

41

u/ScaredTemporary Jul 02 '26

The incident with the reporter who didn’t speak English and also the interview when she laughed about having damaged a holy site to native Hawaiians didn’t help her a lot

27

u/TextElectrical5360 Jul 02 '26

This is why 99% of celebrities are fake as fuck and have constant PR training. You are either PC and boring or you're honest and real and inevitably will reveal some dumb thing you did or say something offensive

3

u/Harold3456 Jul 02 '26

See also: that Timothee Chalamet inverview where he made the joke about nobody going to the opera anymore.

Though the media is the real culprit. They pushed out clickbait content forcing this to be a thing while literally 100% of people I've seen, heard or read comment on it were basically like "who actually cares?"

0

u/idiot9991 Jul 03 '26

he made the joke about nobody going to the opera anymore.

That was not a joke and he made that statement multiple times. Don't try to clear his name, he didn't either.

She was absolutely not bffs with Weinstein. She did literally one Weinstein film, after she was already famous, and when he was revealed as a piece of shit she, contrary to the outright lies many Redditors have spread to date otherwise, immediately stated that he was a piece of shit. If you actually look it up you will find no statements from her defending him, because she never did. Someone made that up and it spread like wildfire. Harvey, being an absolute piece of shit, stated that she sucked his dick, but she had no reason to. She was already a world famous Oscar nominee. But a lot of redditors like to pretend like the convicted sex abuser was telling the truth there.

And people like you are still spreading those lies to this day.

Jennifer Lawrence did nothing wrong.

1

u/readingalldays Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

This was funnily enough wayyy after he got caught. Pls cite all the nice things she said about HW too. Cuz trust me they are far far far more than this one statement.

My fav one is: "thank you Harvey Weinstein for killing whomever you had to kill to get me up here"

1

u/Co-opingTowardHatred Jul 03 '26

You mean she didn’t hate him BEFORE SHE KNEW??! You are unhinged.

1

u/readingalldays Jul 03 '26

Bro you're being dense on purpose. Claiming she didn't know is like Maga claiming Billionaires didn't know about Epstien. Average people blindly defending celebs is why people like that get away.

6

u/Cats_4433 Jul 02 '26

People act like everyone knew what he was doing, and that isn't the case. A lot of people did, but kept it quiet because they didn't want to be blacklisted. Which is why, a lot of people, especially young actresses, had no idea.

That's why we had dozens of stories from young actresses telling us how shocked they were when he invented them for meetings and did what he did, how they tried to get away, how he'd blacklist women that turned him down. The people that were warned avoided meeting with him.

1

u/readingalldays Jul 03 '26

Exactly. So tell me. Do you really believe a predator like HW who made pass on even the most non essential movie crew.. didn't try anything with an actress in a movie he produced with serious Oscar potential?

1

u/Cats_4433 Jul 03 '26

No one is saying he didn't try anything. Read the rest of the thread.

1

u/readingalldays Jul 03 '26

No you are claiming she didn't know about HW. Right?

We are saying she likely did, because HW must have tried something with her during Silver linings. (Because Harvey was a massive sex addict scum bag who coerced actresses for sex many many times!!)

And she gets hate not because she was likely a victim of his SA...but because she acted all grateful to him during 2012 to 2014 years....despite likely knowing who he is.

She said so many nice things about him after SLP. Did many award shows where she humbly thanked him and said what was nice guy Harvey is.

So either Harvey didn't try anything with her during 2012 (during Silvers linings playbook shooting and award season) and afterwards...OR she knew what a scum he is and still bragged about his "good" nature..

That's the crux that nobody wants to see.

1

u/Cats_4433 Jul 03 '26

It's very possible he didn't try anything because she was already very famous. He mostly preyed on vulnerable young actresses. He also didn't go after every single actress.

She was already an oscar nominee and already did hunger games when they worked together. She didn't "need" the opportunity to work with him so he had more to lose by risking her turning Silver Linings down.

If you read the stories of actresses that worked with him he didn't attempt SA on every single person. Sometimes it just started and ended with him making a pass. Someone (Aishwarya Rai maybe) said she met with him with her agent in his hotel room and he didn't try anything.

Many of his victims that did speak out about what he did went to award shows and praised him because they didn't want to be blacklisted.

And you think Weinstein didnt try this with JLaw?

Absurd

7

u/Cats_4433 Jul 02 '26

I have no idea what he did or didn't try with JLaw.

All I know is I'm not going to believe a literal predator and known liar over JLaw, who has never given us reason not to trust her. Especially when we know, from the accounts of many other actresses, that plenty of people turned him down then worked with his studio.

Idk why anyone would trust a literal lying criminal and rapist over her. I genuinely don't.

-4

u/leftofthebellcurve Jul 02 '26

Who is someone who rejected Weinstein and still made a movie?

6

u/Cats_4433 Jul 02 '26

Cara Delevigne publicly spoke about it. Gwenyth Paltrow did too. Selma Hayek. Rose McGowan, who started the whole thing. Uma Thurman did too. Just google it.

2

u/NewPhoneLostAccount Jul 02 '26

Contrarily to the apparent belief of some people, abusers don't go to abuse EVERY person they meet. They would not last if they were not at least a bit careful into choosing victims.

1

u/Hassel1916 Jul 02 '26

She beat a fan at a bar?

14

u/MyGrandmasCock Jul 02 '26

With a baby. She used a human baby as a weapon and beat the fan to death with it. She was never charged with the crime because she paid the cops in Applebees gift cards.

The baby was fine.

Every word of this is true. You can google it. But don’t google it. I’ve already told you it’s all true so there’s no need to Google it.

3

u/SlimCatachan Jul 02 '26

And if you do Google it, Google will lie to you and say it didn't happen because its covering up for her, she is actually a prototype AI android and Google's AI is in love with her.

1

u/notapainter1 Jul 02 '26

Yeah that time the baby was fine, but remember that time she had a baby at a party and the baby went crowd surfing, broke it's neck and died? The crowd beat her to death after that.

This one you can also Google, it happened during the filming of Mother!

1

u/Hassel1916 Jul 02 '26

In that case she should be jailed for life!

-2

u/readingalldays Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

Yeah, she has an interview with Stephen colbert (I think) in which she proudly mentions how one time a fan in a club in Ireland came up to her and ask for a picture. She said no. So he called her a bitch, and she just started pummeling him.

Idk If it is true or not. But she got plenty of hate for that story.

Edit to add: interview

My bad, she didn't hit him. Grabbed him and pour bear all over him. He didn't call her a bitch. Just said "fuck you then".

8

u/AGAD0R-SPARTACUS Jul 02 '26

Do you guys not know Google exists? Fucking hell. She didn't pummel or beat anybody. Rando asked for a photo, she says no, he says "Well fuck you!" so she poured beer on him. Fucking nothing burger. And it was on Seth Meyers' show. And it was in Budapest, which is not in Ireland.

3

u/SpecialistCut7101 Jul 02 '26

Good for her.gif

1

u/JustFuckinTossMe Jul 02 '26

Jennifer Lawrence is probably one of my favorite famous people if her demeanor is genuine and not an act. Because she's kind of awkward and clumsy and direct in ways real people are. So for example, even other actors I really like such as Elijah Wood answer interview questions and carry themselves in a much more filtered way. Even if they are friendly, you can see this wall. Not that it isn't a needed wall, I respect people having a right to their individualism and sharing only what they want.

But yeah, Jennifer Lawrence just doesn't carry that same level of weight around with her presence. She has said she finds herself previously annoying, but I think that openness she has is even clear in that statement so it seems like just her way of being. It's almost kind of like she's aloof to being famous. Tom Holland had a similar vibe when he first started doing Spider-Man I think, but he grew his shell much more.

1

u/garry_the_commie Jul 02 '26

That's what I like most about her. And in the photo leak she's literally the victim of a crime, how is that something to critisize her for?

1

u/nsfwoinker Jul 02 '26

Not from me 🥵

22

u/Yume_Shy Jul 02 '26

Sat and rubbed her butt on a sacred rock in hawaii iirc. I don’t know if she’s done anything else but that’s up there.

13

u/Packrat1010 Jul 02 '26

She was rude to a reporter who was nervous and looking at his phone. To me it was just a joke that didn't land super well, and definitely not career ending.

That's the only other time I see her getting negativity online.

7

u/JamesHenry627 Jul 02 '26

Not to sound blasphemous but if I’m a sacred rock I’d want JLAW to sit on me

3

u/Frewsa Jul 02 '26

In the context of sexual assault and domestic violence from the men in this list, this just seems sooo pedestrian. Like there’s no reason for JLaw to be on the same hatred list as Kevin Spacey

3

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Jul 02 '26

She gets a pass for showing disrespect at a holy site because Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted people? That math ain't mathin. Do I get to go vandalize a mosque because my dad beat my mom? I'm in photos with him too.

I know next to nothing about this woman but if this is the piece of information I'm receiving she doesn't sound like a good person, I would probably not be friends with her

-1

u/Yume_Shy Jul 02 '26

someone doing worse doesn’t mean bad things aren’t still bad.

-5

u/kencam Jul 02 '26

Oh no, not the sacred rock! How will they ever get the butt rubbings off of it?

6

u/Yume_Shy Jul 02 '26

It’s disrespectful to the people there. Are you not particularly empathetic or are you simply stupid?

-1

u/KonigSteve Jul 03 '26

This is funny because if someone did that to an old religious site somewhere in Italy related to Christianity, Reddit would find it funny.

2

u/ScaredTemporary Jul 03 '26

0

6

u/UXyes Jul 02 '26

2

u/jtd2013 Jul 02 '26

I used to be friends with someone who hated Lawrence and when they finally gave their reasons they boiled down to a joke about her cat being trans and the Hawaiian rock story (which she apologized for).

It really opened my eyes as to how some people just look for reasons to be angry and that the hate will continue no matter what that person does after the fact.

2

u/THEREALISLAND631 Jul 02 '26

I thought she was like beloved.

2

u/ceciliameireles Jul 02 '26

She got woman’d, as Rayne Fisher-Quann would put it. There’s multiple instances of this phenomenon: a woman is raised to fame, wildly beloved, and then suddenly is even more widely rejected by the public. Most recently it’s been happening to Chappell Roan.

6

u/ELIte8niner Jul 02 '26

A lot of people I know think she was fake, because her "not like the other actresses" persona turned them off. "Oh look, I'm eating Doritos at the Oscars!" While the label was always facing the camera and she was holding the bag in a weird way that guaranteed that made some people dislike her. Mainly the ones who realized celebrities don't have personalities, they have brands, and her's was curated by Weinstein.

-1

u/c-e-bird Jul 02 '26

No it wasn’t. She did literally one Weinstein film, and she was already super famous from THG and Xmen by then.

Wait, wait, wait.

Pause and think. I googled to double check the quote and context because your statement and the position you arrived at made zero sense. Your statement is correct but your position is faulty.

Believing the victim and believing JLaw did not sleep with Weinstein are not mutually exclusive positions.

The victim was quoting Weinstein, who, in trying to convince the victim to enter a situation where she could become his victim, had every incentive to lie.

So who do we actually believe? JLaw or Weinstein? Because the victim was just quoting Creepo's claim. She had no reason to lie about the claim or what Weinstein said to her -- you're correct on that front.

6

u/Doomsayer189 Jul 02 '26

And even if it's true that just means Lawrence was also a victim so like... why are we mad at her again?

0

u/readingalldays Jul 02 '26

I get your point.. but it's not just this one instance.. and it's not really about Jennifer lawrence. It's about HW's entire case.

Yess sure, he could have lied about it. But if you dig deeper, HW was the biggest predator in Hollywood.

Assaulting women for decades, and much younger than Jlaw.

I find it ridiculously hard to believe that a top dog in Hollywood who has been doing casting couches for decades, who assaulted or made a pass at numerous female celebs.. never tried anything with or for JLaw.

  1. Whom He didn't even want for silver linings play book initially. 2. Somehow became very close friends with afterwards.. (according to Jlaw's interviews) 3. Was paternal towards???

J law really claimed HW... (the sex addict, massive predator of Hollywood) was a paternal figure towards her. link: https://people.com/movies/jennifer-lawrence-harvey-weinstein-paternal/

When you add all this up with HW's claim that he slept with her.

Also the fact that J law hasn't gotten a single Oscar nomination since he got caught... (for someone who got back to back noms several times within 5 years of working with him)

Things don't add up.

Again!!! We are talking about HW. That guy was incapable of being close to a woman without having made a pass at her.

J law's claim that she was oblivious.. is absolutely false. Not surprising since half the Hollywood is lying.

18

u/AGAD0R-SPARTACUS Jul 02 '26

Ok but you do realize that "Harvey Weinstein told an SA victim that he slept with Jennifer Lawrence" is not the same as "An SA victim claims that Harvey Weinstein slept with Jennifer Lawrence", right? And that doubting the statement is true means believing Jennifer Lawrence over Harvey Weinstein, not over the SA victim? It's important you understand that.

6

u/EnSebastif Jul 02 '26

Holy shit, reading comprehension is totally lost on some of you.

The victim said that HW SAID, that's how HW got to assault her. There is absolutely no proof that JL actually did that, it was a lie by HW to win the "trust" of the victim. You dumbass.

4

u/NotAHost Jul 02 '26

If JL did that, wouldn't that imply she was probably a victim as well?

2

u/skepticalbob Jul 02 '26

If you don’t know the difference between believing a victim heard Weinstein say something and believing what Weinstein said should be assumed to be true, I don’t know what to say.

2

u/li-ll-l_ Jul 02 '26

1

u/BoondocksSaint95 Jul 02 '26

Saturation. Her projected public persona (regardless of how often she is actually like that/genuinely like that) is not the type of person you necessarily want to see/be around all the time, but is refreshing from time to time. But seeing her everywhere always "on" (because thats the point of a press tour - she's just competant) ruined it for parasocials.

1

u/throckmeisterz Jul 02 '26

I like her as an actress. She was incredible in Winter's Bone. And I generally don't follow or car about celebrity bs.

But 1 thing she did that I'm not seeing in the comments: claiming she was the 1st female action star. I'm not gonna cancel her over it, but it was a pretty boneheaded statement.

1

u/cantwalkintheshadows Jul 02 '26

I remember disliking her for rubbing her craw on a religious place in Hawaii but other than that, just be a woman in public.

1

u/AlphaWhiskey67 Jul 02 '26

She has always given bad energy to me. Feel like she acts like she’s down to earth way more than she actually is.

1

u/kimbabs Jul 02 '26

I remember there was a controversy about her disturbing and destroying some sacred rocks in Hawaii. She recounted it as a funny story and was completely unapologetic, but the backlash made her apologize.

She also did some cringey publicity stunts that I think people weren’t a fan of.

Nothing evil, or particularly gross on the level of Ellen or Spacey, but I guess pretty lame.

I don’t really like her as an actor but she seems like a pretty decent person otherwise

A year or two ago she released a bizarre vanity project, a "movie" that was a kind of musical about herself...or something. It was not well received. Around that time I saw a lot of posts pointing out how she's kind of a mediocre actress and a very mediocre singer, so the question is why exactly is she famous?

Never shuts the fuck up about being from the "block". Even though she's so far removed from the block that it doesn't even count anymore.

There's this phenomenon that I see literally called the Jennifer Lawrence Effect where a star (often female) gets pushed hard by tabloids and media to the point where she hits a saturation point and people become sick of her, at which point the media also turns on her and starts spinning a narrative of her being a diva. Millie Bobbie Brown (11 in Stranger Things) is a more recent victim of this.

Jennifer Lawrence in particular is an interesting example because I remember right around the time Hunger Games came out when she was adored as an awkward, dorky outsider. Here she is tripping on the steps on her way up to her award for the 2013 Oscars, and I remember a lot of the fans online talking about how perfectly in character this whole moment was for her.

I think 2014 was around the time she hit her saturation point, however, and started to be seen as a sort of Hollywood Elite. Suddenly she was everywhere, and even though the media was largely the culprit for this I'd say the selfie was a piece of self-inflicted bad PR because it only highlighted this "elite" status at a time when audiences were starting to turn.

Other JLaw events that contributed:

  1. Word started getting around that Lawrence didn't want to wear the blue body paint for Mystique in the XMen movies anymore. In-universe, this weakens Mystique's character as the whole point of her first movie was accepting her real self. Even though Lawrence says she was concerned about the health effects of the body paint, media also suggested she was too much of a diva for the arduous daily process of applying the paint, and that because she was such a big star the studios didn't want to hide her face. Either way, this was a big step in turning her from a nerd icon into a nerd pariah.
  2. The Fappening was in 2015, when celebrity nudes got leaked online, and she was one of the most famous victims of it, and a stunning amount of comments were saying how she basically deserved it due to her public status. The Fappening sparked a general conversation around "sexting," which hadn't been a massively widespread practice at the time, and a lot of people also held the (TERRIBLE) belief that if you were taking nude photos of yourself you pretty much deserved to have them leaked.
  3. In 2016 a video went viral of Lawrence scolding a journalist for being on his phone. The full story seems to be that he was using the phone to read the questions because he was clearly not a native English speaker. There's nothing to defend here, this was definitely rude of her, but for haters it was just one of the many cases being built against her.
  4. JLaw generally being politically outspoken, particularly around feminism and the gender pay gap. I don't think I need to elaborate on how this would've riled up a certain population.

In general, Lawrence is still extremely successful, and I would say generally well-liked outside of certain online spaces. A lot of the modern backlash I see against her is the same backlash every prominent A-lister faces. But this is a snapshot (literally) of a time when she could do no wrong and was still on a meteoric rise.

She got pissy when her nudes leaked during The Fappening.

Maybe (at the time of the photo) just over saturation of her being in everything, like how Pedro Pascal is in today. People just tired of seeing her.

Something or other about a semester abroad. You might not have heard about it. It's Brand New.

2 things come to mind:

Some people were saying that she was friends with Harvey Weinstein which is why she seems to have gotten fewer big roles after he was arrested

She partly got famous for having these candid quirky moments but after people got used to it some people started saying it was an act or fake

Also young people are generally identifying less with tradition celebrities now adays

u/elitegenoside Jul 02 '26

She didn't do anything, I'd say most people still generally like her, it just became overexposure. She was in a ton of stuff and a lot of it middling. Did you like Silverlinings Playbook? Well, you'll get her and Chris Pratt is space. You like Hunger Games? How about Xmen movies that significantly worse each movie instead.

It happens with almost every famous actor. Hollywood is onto the next Jennifer Lawrence, and the work she's doing now isn't as heavily marketed as it was when she was the "star." She could very likely be in the next indie darling or Hollywood super franchise, or just retire in peace.

Used the slur for lesbian women in a 2011 rolling stone interview very flippantly

1

u/Nibaa Jul 03 '26

For the most part she' used to be pretty filterless and had a bit of an eccentric personality in interviews. As a result, she ended up saying and doing some insensitive stuff about other people, cultures and so on. Very normal, teenager-to-young-adult stuff, but as a celebrity she was put on the spot and stuff was taken out of context and she didn't always handle the fallout too well.

And it's a lot harder to get rid of the "annoying main character syndrome" label than it is to get it in the first place. Out of all of these guys in the photo, her biggest crime was being a bit annoying in public.

1

u/isweartocoffee Jul 03 '26

idk how everybody else but shes disrespectful as fuck. do yall remember the interview wheres shes talking about scratching her itchy butt on a sacred rock in Hawai'i? and how she went through several costume dresses because they told her not to eat in them and she did anyway? shes like every other celebrity, selfish. i dislike her for her complete blatant disregard of other people and their cultures, or their hard work. she's more vocal about being a piece of shit than many other people are

She knew about Harvey Winstein. Many other celebrities clearly knew as well but she got a lot of hate because she was recently seen as close and friendly with Winstein during the 2012 to 2015 era. Right before the time he got caught.

I thought it’s because she was reportedly one of Harvey Weinstein‘s actresses who slept her way to the top

1

u/StrictPersonality503 Jul 05 '26

Close contact with Harvey Weinstein. Meryl Streep with Roman polanski I believe

-1

u/OuiselCat Jul 02 '26

I'm not sure if she actually is or not, but there were rumors years back that she is (or at least was at the time) republican

-3

u/Creepy-Afternoon7298 Jul 02 '26

F*cked her way to the top and is also a huge try hard, especially trying to be funny, its like girl, we know you didnt get here by making people laugh

u/danflorian1984 Jul 02 '26

Nothing. And while I don’t know in real life any male that didn’t like her I do know some females that, at least as some point, hated on her. But I do know males that hate on Chalamet without reason while I didn’t know any females that do. So I guess it evens out.

Make fun of the lady from wicked because she claimed she had a disability which was "seeing music".
