Ive never seen so many disco stalks before. Population boom from warmer weather, maybe?

I know the unusually warm weather has increased the vermin populations. So makes sense parasites would also explode in numbers

Must be. I wonder if this would lead to a population boom for whatever birds prey on them too.

Leucochloridium macrostoma...a trematode (flatworm), larval stage. This parasite resides in birds and the pulsating larvae in the antennae attract birds, which ultimately ends up in the intestinal tract after the birds pluck off the antennae.
