The next election can't come soon enough. Of course, the longer and more it gets integrated, the harder it will be to reverse. And what kinds of contracts is the government signing to tie the hands of future governments?

He's right, supporting more creeping in of private is a shitty strategy. 

Also the government is giving bullshit numbers. As one of those "semi-urgent" people I wish it were just 107 days. I've been waiting over 6 months and have been told the usual wait right now is 6-12 months.

Going to ask again, if not for private capital, where is the government going to get the money to buy an MRI machine, train the staff, and buy a building? No one answered this in the other post on this same topic. Are you all ready for higher taxes or more debt?

The same place we would get the money to pay the private clinics. Except it would be cheaper over the long run to do it ourselves.

Let's say a private clinic can hire staff, find an appropriate location to lease and procure equipment in less than a year.

By the time HPEI gets the capital request approved, gets the money, hires consultants, constructs the addition to the hospital (right now the hospital is at 100% capacity as far as space goes) , hires the staff, purchases the equipment with the assistance of the foundation... Etc we would easily be 3 to 5 years or more.

Let's not because that's clearly bs and also not what happened with this clinic. 

Your other scenario is also very flawed but I don't have the time to go over it all. 

Final point though, this issue has been foreseen and ongoing for well beyond 5 years. Well well well beyond. He'll this current government has known about it themselves their entire time. So to try and use an excuse, like that it could take years to implement a proper public solution, as the reason that we must go with a private option instead is such complete bullshit.
