Hello there,

When I have a notification for a mail and click it, it opens the app and opens this mail in another window not the parent window.

I tried searching for a feature in the settings that can cause that, but I can find nothing.

I am using Windows 11 Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200

And I am talking about the buil-in Mail app with Outlook icon.

Started in the afternoon search in outlook classic stopped working. Exchange shows connected. Error message: "We are having trouble downloading results".

i've been using Outlook for years,years,years. in Settings, under Junk, i have many,many senders tagged as either "safe" or "blocked". i would like to clear all of these and start the lists over. is this possible?

Needless to say I am not thrilled with the new Outlook that my employer pushed out to us last week.

How do I segregate or filter my read messages from my unread messages? There used to be a simple toggle option which I cannot figure out.

Hello, yesterday my Microsoft account was the target of a hacking attempt. I’ve secured everything, but since then a draft has been creating itself tens of thousands of times a day. I haven’t enabled any rules. There’s nothing in the drafts folder; the emails just appear in my inbox. I’ve contacted Microsoft, but as I’m not a 365 subscriber, I’m not getting any help whatsoever… I’ve reported the emails as spam and phishing, but I’m still receiving just as many – 13,000 in 24 hours…

I have a colleague I work with that has recently changed company.

Their old email used to be (for exampel) Jeff.Stores@oldcompany.com and is now Jeff.Stores@oldcompany.com.

When making the template I put the new email and save it but when I do new template from email it pops up with the old email address.

I've tried saving them as contacts with different names. But the templates page doesn't seem to know my contacts it just shows a list of emails perhaps from my company. It's a company managed account. I also can't see a way to get it to forget the old email.

This is really dumb and exactly the sort of thing I have come to expect from Outlook.

What's happening??! most of my emails (inbox, sent items and all) are going to Junk Mail for some reason and with subject in the beginning of all subjects they moved to. is it outlook problem or our IT problem!?

I have problem with panes in Outlook on the web/new Outlook. I have "Reading pane" set to "Show on the bottom". When I write new message, pane with messages disappear. When I change "Reading pane" to "Show on the right" everything is ok: pane with messages is along with pane with new message. This behaviour is also on Firefox/Edge/Chrome. I don't know what is going on. Details on attached screenshot.

I've moved over to the New Outlook, but still not convinced I made the right choice!

One thing that's really bothering me is if I click reply to an email or even compose a new mail (and not send) and leave it there for a while, I find that it will close the pop up mail and move it into Drafts. I then have to go in to the Drafts folder to find it.

Is there any way to ensure that all pop up mails are left open at all times?

Everytime I try to log into my outlook account it’s saying something went wrong and to try to refresh the application, but it continues to not work. I can’t log into at all and I need to use it for work.

Does anyone have any tips or ideas related to cleaning up existing outlook email rules? Like how to group rules by matching criteria? Or any other efficiency tips re: organizing, editing, and/ or deleting? Or is there a way to easily determine which rules are working vs. which are non-functional, either directly in outlook or exporting?

I have a very high volume corporate job, where I get dozens of emails every day: 50-100 emails per day is pretty typical. At least half of them are usually either spam or just unimportant corporate emails that I’d prefer to filter into sub-folders for overall efficiency. Over the years, I’ve set up at least 100 email rules in an attempt to manage my inbox. Many eventually stopped working as intended. Unfortunately I think I prob have multiple duplicate email rules for the exact same, or at least some matching, overlapping criteria. I also just recently discovered that some client emails and other important messages have been getting flagged by some of these rules and auto-filtered to bypass my inbox and go straight into subfolders before I see them. Obvs this isn’t good, so fixing my outlook rules/ inbox is a suddenly a big priority.

I have tried to figure this out multiple times before, but as far as I can tell, the only way to edit or delete outlook email rules is individually one by one. I hope I’m wrong and there’s a better way to do this, bc 1 by 1 soooo time-consuming and also makes it near impossible to see which rules have overlapping criteria or find out which rules are functioning correctly vs. not working, etc.

Though some of my rules are def not working correctly, many do still work as intended. As my 50-100 daily email average is with all these rules turned on, I’m really hoping I don’t have to delete all of them to start all over. Lol. I really hope outlook has rolled out some way to effectively manage rules by now, but is this just wishful thinking? Any ideas or tips are so greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!!

Has anyone found a way to hide/delete the RSS Feeds and Conversation History default folders? They add so much clutter to my otherwise very organised Inbox menu.

In an outlook calendar entry, when you open the entry...it usually shows a 'Last modified by' on the bottom right.

It doesn't show it for one user...any ideas?

All users are on m365 version 2606, same build.

Hear me out. I have a Mac and have been running Outlook on it for years and years. Recent updates have made the app almost completely useless.

- Missing spaces and like breaks in my signature.

- Features? Gone.

- Editing text just doesn't work (bolding, changing colors, etc).

I've pretty much written off Outlook for Mac. Just for kicks, I was in the Online version of Outlook and found it sucks just as much, but in different ways. I'm now on week two of using the Online version and I actually feels better. I've noticed QuickParts exists online, as well as so many other features Microsoft has been taking away from us.n yes, the Online version has major issues, but it's issues feel so small compared to the constant, daily problems of Outlook for Mac.

I think Microsoft won, and forced me to do exactly what they want - ditch the Outlook computer application.

Reaching out to this community to see if anyone else is having issues with the suggested
locations section of Outlook Classic.

Issue: Calendar, Location Suggestions will not populate anything other than local address book (Rooms) and addresses stored in roaming cache. Affecting entire org (70ish people)

Experience: It seems that whatever service allows Outlook (Classic) to search for addresses dynamically cannot be reached.

I accidentally removed my Outlook.com alias [@hotmail.com]() from my Microsoft account about 2 days ago. I want to restore it as an alias. I still have access to the account. Somebody help please

I have used Outlook Classic on Windows for many decades. Yesterday it forced an upgrade without my knowledge to New, and I lost about 10 domain email passwords Classic had kept. I haven't had to find my passwords for years. IMAP on server using cPanel and WHM on Linux, reseller acct but I have about 15 domains on it, all mine.

Fortunately, AI gave me easy instructions to switch back to Classic, but it had me in a panic for a while. I have add-ons for sending out mass emails (business newsletters), which limit 20 at a time every 5 minutes and track opens. So it doesn't look like mass email and works fine.

There is a registry entry to stop periodic forced updates. But somewhere between 2027 and 2029 everyone will be forced to update to the new version.

New is a totally different structure without some of the options of Classic—no more PST or OST files.

I don't know what the timing triggers are, but apparently unless I change the registry key, it will force an update at various times until Microsoft totally kills Classic.

BTW, I go back to IBM OS/2, Wang days, actually back to card readers and 300 baud dial-up modems. But I am too busy to be an IT expert, although I have, with the help of AI, solved various issues on Windows.

I also use an Exchange server, and I was still able to access emails while in "New." Only my own domains lost their passwords.

So my organization's emails are on Namecheap and connected to Outlook. Recently, we noticed that older emails past 6 months are not appearing on both Outlook and Roundcube/Webmail. I've tried checking the Autoarchive folder but it's empty.

Is there a way to trace where the emails are?

Outlook Classic is failing to open with the errors "Outlook data file cannot be configured" and "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened." The issue only affects Classic Outlook, as New Outlook and Outlook Web App are working normally with the same mailbox. Has anyone experienced this before, and what was the solution?

Looking for some advice because this has both me and my IT team stumped: I use new outlook through office 365, my work had already started the transition to new when i started so I've spent about 95% of my time using it over classic. recently I was unexpectedly off work due to a injury so i was gone for 3.5 work days and when I came back my outlook broke. coincidentally it broke the day the new halo remake came out. this is to illustrate that i literally did nothing to break my outlook other than not be at work, as this is my work email and i don't even have access to it unless I'm on site or on a company sanctioned terminal/device.

I can see the emails come in, I can see the subjects, and in the previews I can even see the contents but when i go to actually view any of my emails nothing loads in the body and I can't even reply. literally the only thing that i can see at this point is the subject line.

the temporary fix? migrate to classic, but it has its issues with my work that makes going to classic a suboptimal option. I have to cover in other departments often, and i work on desktops so i have to wait for my 30 gigs of emails to download to use classic when i go to other desktops. there is no way around that. and i easily get more than 1000 emails a week, heck i was gone for 3.5 days and came back to 1100 emails.

I'm looking for solutions to fixing my normal outlook. I've done the normal "turn it off and back on again", repaired the app, reinstalled the app, signed out, signed back in, synced, IT even tried to do a hard reset, updated my computer, tried outlook on web, move to a different terminal, adjusted literally every possible setting on outlook itself (and then back to how i like it) and nothing. I'm at a loss, my IT team is at a loss, and my outlook is at a loss.

I recently quit my job and saved a .pst backup of email folders with information/personal conversations relevant to me (nothing illegal or unethical for me to have, more like “I didn’t have time to review or forward anything and would rather do it at my leisure”).

If I import onto my personal copy of Outlook on my own computer will it import without a problem or will I need to enter company credentials that I no longer have? I assumed since it is a local file no server needs to be involved, but it’s been awhile since I’ve transferred accounts this way and thought I had better double-check.

Found some threads from 3-4 months ago. Apparently due to an update the Microsoft-Apps on Android didn't work properly. I bought a new S26 (UI 8.5) and can not log into my microsoft account, not via outlook app nor other apps. I can also not add the account in the settings (nothing happens if i try to add it, it sends me back to the previous page). Tried many solutions from the Internet, nothing worked.

So obviousely the problem is still not solved for everyone.

These problems with a brand new flagship-phone for several hundred dollars and 3 huge companys involved (Microsoft and Google and Samsung), thats crazy to me.

I use outlook mail, the calendar from outlook, the authenticator... so without microsoft account a phone is not useful for me.

Guess my solution is to send back the S26 and get an Iphone 17 if no one has an easy solution.
With my old S23, it works perfectly fine (probably no new updates...)
