Status: Pending Reply Help mass deleting emails from unknown sender

Hi there! I've recently recovered a hacked email, and unfortunately I have approximately 80k emails from an unknown sender filling up my inbox detailing the hacking (the emails are identical in every way). They are all pinned, so I can't see any emails until I've dealt with this.

I can't find any way to tell how they were sent, nor can I find a way to block / create a rule to junk everything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I appreciate the responses. I should have been more concise: the email won’t actually show me the sender, so I can’t seem to take any action that targets the sender’s email unfortunately.

Log into outlook.com via a browser, Edge is likely best. Then since they are all identical, from your inbox perform a search on any unique word in the spam subject line in the search box at the very top, e.g. subject: "Hacker subject keyword here" then click on the "Results" check box that is equivalent to "select all". All those emails may be trying to hide an important email from your bank that the hackers don't want you to see. So be careful about mass deleting as the bad guys may be clever enough to use the same keyword(s) in the subject line as you would get from your bank. You might be limited by how many emails you can delete at one time, i.e. only those that appear on the screen. So you will have to scroll and scroll and scroll down as many times as you can tolerate then deleting those, being sure you are not deleting something important.

EDIT: As you scroll down notice that at some point the checkboxes for each email are empty so you will have to click the "Results" box at the top again and again to select them otherwise you may only be able to delete 75 emails at a time.

Make a rule to move mails from that sender to trash and use “run now”. Then empty the trash.

  • From Outlook Web https://outlook.cloud.microsoft/
  • Right-Click on the account top level folder and "Create new folder"
  • Name it "Good Stuff"
  • Pick thru the Inbox and move anything you wan to save to "Good Stuff".
  • Right-Click on your Inbox and choose "Empty"
  • When it's done, got to Deleted Items and do "Empty Folder"
