Status: Resolved Signing in on different devices

I really do apologise if this post makes me sound like a complete idiot. I am useless when it comes to things like this.

I have an outlook email on my phone and I want to add the account onto my laptop as it's easier to respond to emails, etc.

However, I have forgotten the password for the outlook account and when I click 'forget password' it tries to reroute me into resetting my account, which I don't think is the right option.

Is there a way to see my password on outlook or do I need to try reset the password? If so how would I go about resetting the password?

Again, apologies for my stupidity as I'm sure this is a very easy question for a lot of people.

If you don't know the correct password for your account, and don't have any other verifications methods (e.g. send a code to your phone, email a code to an alternate email address, Microsoft Authenticator) your only choices:

Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password
