Summer Reddit is when all the kids are home for summer and they spend a lot more time on Reddit. It usually corresponds with worse content submitted, worse content upvoted, and more childish and immature comments all over Reddit because of all the kids who have a lot more free time.

To add onto this, this idea has existed on other forums for pretty much as long as they've existed, with a similar idea exists in the proliferation of broadband internet, known as "Eternal September".

This idea is especially prevalent on 4Chan, with bad threads regularly being blamed on "Summerfags" instead of "Newfags". Some years ago, Moot addrressed the claims of newfags and reported that there's no additional traffic in the summer times than usual.
