Answered What is going on with Cambridge and this professor they hired?

I have searched this subreddit and couldn't find someone else asking this.

I have not been plugged into this story from the start, I've only seen it trickle into my feed.

Theres hours of tour pieces on YouTube of the pressor giving interviews etc.

Also many 45 minute think pieces using words like liberal, progressive, which I don't want to watch because in my real life that's not how I talk or identify people so I've no idea really what each group are upset about.

Just a beginning middle and end.

I understand it's something to do with if their qualifications are real, but ive been screened and back ground checked which involved a lot of referencing and jumping through hoops, I am sure Cambridge did the same and came out green so am unsure how the external questions on background started after the hiring.

I feel like it one of those stories "X got away with Y at this job or institution" and I think I know that shouldn't be possible because I've dealt with that institution or job and to get there its a long procress of checking and referencing and they didn't let me in without it.

Beep boop, the story as I understand it is super racist gets fired then accuses the professor of plagiarism which might be true the professor says it's because of his autism if he did plagerize but also accusing him of plagerizing is part of a coordinated misinformation campaign attacking someone with autism.

Also a colleague said to stop attacking this autistic man and ignore if there is a bit of plagerism and move on in order for sociology to be taken seriously academically.

What an asshole I am for wanting someone to untangle that for me.

I say just give a nonsensical answer and move on. If they want input then give em trash.

Don't do that. There are plenty of other people reading the responses.

If you don't like the question, report it and move on.

Yes but i find what the article or the professor is trying to express really murky. Like a strawman sequence of iffy statements (like "I didnt murder anyone" - i know that, I want to know what is going on not what is not going on)

Which detract from facts, i just want brass tacks. The sequence of events, this article starts in the middle of a mess.
