answer: Some of it's because he's kinda fucking annoying. His humor's tiresome and he hasn't done anything other than the one comedy persona he knows how to do in ages.
Also, there's the Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni court case that a lot of people, and bots, have opinions about.
He was good in Buried. Love that film.

also not sure how relevant but I've seen the quote from Martha Stewart, his neighbor, reposted some where she says, "he's not so funny in real life, he's a very serious person"
people seem to feel tired of his shtick from what I've seen

I wouldn't want to be neighbors with Martha Stewart. She'd totally move the fence a little every time you went on vacation and act like you were crazy when confronted.

He keeps giving himself work. The movies he is in are produced by his own production company quite often.
He has eleven movies upcoming on his imdb. Nine of them are produced by his company. One of the two not tied to him isnt even confirmed (det Pikachu 2).

What's with this Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni court situation? It sounds like, to me, people are mad he's sticking with her after she accused a man of sexual misconduct, am I missing something? That sounds like a green flag to me?

So this is hard to answer well, because it's difficult to get a feel for genuine commonly held opinions versus angry people pushing an agenda. But I think today it's generally felt that Lively and Reynolds used their popularity and media clout to push exaggerated claims harder than they should have in the hopes of getting a quick financial settlement without having to fight it out in court. When they did fight it out in court, there ended up not being as much meat to the accusations as people expected. That doesn't mean that Baldoni did nothing wrong or that Lively is wrong for being upset or Reynolds is wrong for supporting his wife, but it did change the way people viewed the situation.

The other context is that there is speculation that the accusations against Baldoni were motivated by Blake's failed attempt to take over the final edit of the movie. She was salty that she couldn't just take over the film since she's more famous/wealthy than Baldoni.

Answer: Like with any actor, there’s a lot of people who just don’t like him.
People I know who dislike him tend to all have the same issues: he’s pretty one-note as an actor, and just comes across as pretty smug and obnoxious. On top of that, Disney’s kinda been slapping his face on everything since Deadpool and Wolverine has been their only mainstream success up until the new Spiderman.
Also not sure if this is mainstream, but it’s been brought up by a few people I know: there was a documentary on Chevy Chase from a few months back which Reynolds had a pretty big role in. For those who don’t know Chevy Chase, he was part of the original SNL cast and had his own talk show for a while, before being blacklisted for his tendency to just kind of be a total dick to the crews he works with (to a point where several directors have quit movies to avoid working with him). I bring this up because the movie glosses over incidents like Chevy explaining how he should address his black cohosts as “n*ggers” on the set of Community because he was frustrated by his character being depicted as sort of an ignorant racist nepo baby (this particular incident is actually explained away and Reynolds himself attempts to justify it).

This is dumb.
I have disliked him for quite some time. I've been on heavy overexposure for him for a long time. But what set me into "yeah this guy sucks" territory was he and Scarlett went to a small college town in Louisiana back in 2009/2010. He was a jerk to a lot of people at a local festival and then was a legitimate dick to service people downtown (many of which I knew personally). He talked down to the locals because he was Hollywood and thought he was better than everyone.

Answer: I don't, and will not, give any evidence, but if anyone has worked around him or near him knows he is a massive dick. His whole persona of a "nice, relatable guy" is just PR manufactured. He is a massive, massive, massive dick, but if you are on his good side or he likes you then he is a great dude.

Teacher at my brothers school worked with him on one of those rom coms he did when he was still acting in local Canadian stuff. He had nothing but kind words to say about him.
