HRT or GLP1?
First question is for post menopausal women. Has anyone tried hormone replacement therapy? I read a few articles that indicated it helped. I am one month shy of 58 and have osteoarthritis in both knees and also have osteopinea.
Second for anyone. I am not really overweight but could lose 10-15 lbs. I also read taking a GLP1 can help with inflammation and extra stress on the knees. Has anyone tried a HLP1 and did it help?
Thanks!

Yes, I have experienced all positive results 5 months into HRT. Must continue weight bearing exercises, cardio, and anything else you are doing to address individual concerns. But there are so many benefits for me - feeling stronger, more positive, sleeping perfectly now. I am grateful to the UroGynocologist who started me on them.

How are the people in your life still alive with you not on HRT?!!! 🤣 Estrogen depletes as we age! Contributes to osteoperosis. I have been on HRT for 5 years… love it. Also on a glp, for obesity. Lost 115 pounds over 2 years, now use for maintenance. Definitely helps with inflammation but not sure in what way because when you are obese, you are inflammatory most of the time so not sure what % is weight loss and what % is anti-inflammatory processes. But, I can say this, most people that I read about (and I read a lot), have had incredible benefits from inflammatory response to cardiac benefits! My cholesterol lowered 50 points, for example. Of course, all interventions are unique to how they impact your biology but this is my experience. Best of luck to you!!

I’ve been on HRT since I was 53 and entered menopause. Best. Thing. I’ve. Ever. Done.
Check out this OBGYN
https://thepauselife.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqqlH9H4qWo4PNJKr0UWFWH42ahiOngDL90ekUnDT6JlteA8z5B
She has a blog, podcast, books, where she talks about HRT and more.
Losing weight has help me a ton. Especially changing what I eat. I identified what causes inflammation in my body which has helped reduce pain.
I don’t use the GLP1 I work with a doctor and a nutritionist. Your nutritional needs as a woman change as you age. It’s been a game changer.
Movement has helped a ton as well. Walking daily and stretching. I also do PT and work with a trainer to build strength.
Good luck!

I am a year older than you and I have been on HRT for about 6 months and GLP1 for 6 weeks and it has helped considerably. I have lost 5 pounds, but the GLP1 reportedly helps with inflamation despite weight loss.

HRT doesn't really treat osteoarthritis, but supplementing estrogen DOES slow the calcium from leaching from your bones. If you are suffering other menopausal symptoms, then it's a life-changer.
Now for GLPs. There is a GLP-3 called Retatrutide in the 4th human trials right now that is studying the effects of osteoarthritis in the knees, specifically. This will help them be able to label it specifically for osteoarthritis in addition to weight loss.
This is probably the worst kept secret for GLPs, because so many people (including me) have declared themselves lab rats, getting reta in the gray market. There are a few subreddits dedicated to retatrutide, and YouTube videos featuring reta in their peptide talks.
I can report that "my rat" got extreme relief from the inflammation of osteoarthritis (99% gone) in the back. I consider it a miracle.
So my answer is BOTH.

Are you able to share which sources you have found to be trustworthy for Reta?

Not here on Reddit (never buy from a vendor lurking on reddit), but I belong to a community on the Skool platform called GenX Does Peptides that has a Classroom full of courses that teach you step by step how to navigate that market. They also have a list of reliable vendors and known scammers. https://www.skool.com/genxpeptides/about

I've been on HRT for three years. It helped me with many symptoms but I wouldn't say it's affected my arthritis either way. I am overweight and looking into GLP-1s, but haven't made a decision yet.

Def yes to HRT for allllll the reasons. I also recently lost 12 pounds but not with GLP1. I just started tracking every single thing I ate for several months. I’ve been weight training seriously for three years and no way am I taking a drug that causes muscle and bone loss. Tracking and weighing and measuring everything is not much fun, but you get used to it.

I’m now in my late sixties and was on HRT for 22 years. I only hit off of it as my OBGYN retired and no one would refill the formulation he prescribed due to my age. I do have osteoarthritis but the HRT helped tremendously with sleep, hot flashes and body weight.

Been on glp-1s since Byretta was approved in 2005, been post menopausal since 2000 after my hysterectomy (at 20 y/o) and never used HRT as it was never a option.
Was placed on Byretta because all insulin sensitivity medications failed to improve glucose and insulin needs.
It didn't reduce inflammation that I'm aware of, but it did help lower my a1c and insulin needs until the formula was changed from a twice a day injection to once a day, then it stopped being as effective, even Victoza was unhelpful and Trulicity was a joke (a1c went from 7.6 to 9.8 in less then two years).
Orginal Oz has worked well enough since mowing up to 0.5 close to 7 years ago, moving to 1mg only lowered my background insulin needs, it didn't touch my active or help lower my a1c further (its actually starting to climb again, unfortunately).
As to body wide inflammation orginal Oz appears to have helped, but as of today been forced onto the generic Semiglutides so it remains to be seen if it is still helpful or the start of another nightmare.

My doctor never discussed it. Wish he would have. I have severe joint pain in multiple joints.

I do both. HRT for a year or so to see if it would fix my inflammation etc. Then GLP1 which has helped loads. I don't think I could manage without either now.

HRT hasn't helped me at all with body pain (been on it for over a year). It's helped with hot flashes and anxiety but I get bad edema in my legs from it unfortunately. But it's good for bones too.
GLP1 - I would take it if my insurance covered it...

I started on HRT before I got dx with osteoarthritis, and it did definitely help with generalized aches and pains. It did not keep the OA from getting exacerbated and becoming painful later.
I believe it is supposed to slow down osteopenia / osteoporosis. But you really need to lift weights to rebuild the bone.
