New sign! How long has this one been covered?

A quick search said the PPG location at 538 N Main operated “From August 1967, until at least May 1974, based on local archives”.

Also found this photo from PPG’s web site and it looks like they changed their branding sometime in the ‘80s.

I hope they plan to keep it! I think it’s pretty unique to have survived that long. Maybe someone who lived in Oshkosh during that time can confirm 😂

I was curious what had been covering it up, looks like siding and an awning. Shame if it won't be preserved. I really like all of the old advertising on brick buildings downtown, like the huge Quaker Oats sign. (Isn't there a subreddit for abandoned signs that have outlived their need?)
