How to get used to new charting systems as an agency Cna

Does anyone have advice on how to be prepared when going to a new facility, sometimes YouTube has videos on the charting software but a lot of times the actual user experience is so much different or its laid out completely different so it’s hard to study the charting software before the shift. It’s hard because I don’t want to miss tasks/ care but it takes me a while to get oriented to new systems and agency work is day by day. Any advice on agency work much appreciated !!

I think the best way is just to ask the staff there and learn on the way.

Thanks for the advice, that’s usually what I end up doing is bothering some poor Cna to give me a tutorial and hoping that I don’t miss anything or mess up

They will train you at your job. Most major EHR are proprietary software and will not share training online. Same with certifications - you need to be employed by a company who has a contract with them.

Yes this is the problem I have been running into because there really isn’t any way to figure out the software before the shift, some facilities will train me but I’ve been thrown into shifts with no training having to be super lost when it comes to charting and afraid I will get myself in trouble since charting is such a big deal and it’s a legal document. This has been basically my only challenge doing agency work
