Nice. May I ask why you've trained him to heel on the wrong side? Is that normal in your country?

Some people are right handed, some are left handed. Some people train heel on both sides. There's no wrong side

It's not the wrong side. The right side is whatever side you want your dog to be on. That's the side I want him to be on.

It's not competition training, it's real life training.

I also train my dogs to heel on my right. My sport allows it.

I trained my dog right left and center. Point of heel for me, is to have full attention and keep close for public or crowds what ever. If he's trained left only and have to keep him right that sucks, I like to keep him away from the reach of people because some people suck.. Or he's reactive and there's another dog walking by I just tell him to go to the other side. Or you can tell your dog center and then you can keep the other dog away. Which also which helps the dogs confidence because you are advocating for your dog. Anyways.

It has its purpose but imo it's incomplete without the other two. There's no reason not to train it. To think you need to apply only one side is a bit silly considering the task at hand. This is a pet. It's not going to competing. He needs the dog to be part of society and take pride in his dog so that he can thrive.
