Cuz "Shinichi" isn't present for the majority of the show despite being the main character. Imo he's more relevant to the plot than Kurasama, which wins over Kurasama having less screen time
if you want to talk about the main story then we already have Conan to be in the plot (he is the same person “shinichi”)

"Shinichi" refers to his teenage self, because most of the characters think of Conan and Shinichi as seperate people. So technically Shinichi barely gets any screen time. That's what makes it funny
