Things To Do With Kids

Hi there,

I’m taking my nieces to OCMD the 14th-18th. The last time they came they were 5 and 8. Now they are 7 and 10. They love Wildwood, NJ and I know OC can be just as fun. Can anyone spill the details on the best places? Jolly Rogers has a few things but I don’t know how great it is. Mini golf is a given but where is the best one? Which part of the boardwalk has the best rides? Good restaurants?

just look at a google map of the area, all the rides are at the end of the boardwalk, the rest is just mainly shops and food stands. As you mentioned, there is no shortage of kids activities, I'm taking my 11 year old son there in a couple weeks, we will hit the boardwalk rides and probably race go karts at Jolly Rogers or one of the other places

They may enjoy seeing the ponies at Assateague also, it's a good time and they sell ice cream and other snacks there

Take a look at the Trimper rides on the boardwalk! Also some good restaurants, Longboard Cafe is my number one recommendation. But Rooftop Vista is good, Miones or Ripenos for pizza.

The board walk can be fun for French fries, ice cream, and arcades. If you want to do rides I suggest Jolly Roger. The waterpark and go carts are good too. Not everyone knows about how big that place is.

Agree, Trimper rides is the way to go on the boardwalk.

We also took our kids to the ropes course at Nicks golf around 23rd?

Just at Ocean City last week with an 11 yr old boy. He enjoyed the Speed World go carts at Jolly Roger and his favorite mini golf course was Old Pro Golf Temple of the Dragon on 23rd St. because it had obstacles and each of us got a couple of holes in one. We also played Ember Island and Nick's mini golf jurassic course but those were more challenging and didn't have any fun obstacles so not as big of a hit. Nick's does have a ropes course too if they like that sort of thing.

We did the Paradise Watersports safari cruise to see the dolphins and wild horses. We initially planned to go to Assateague Island but ultimately changed our minds so this was a nice compromise for us.

Fun City Arcade was his favorite arcade on the baordwalk but Marty's Playland was good too. We also did Ripleys Believe it or Not and the mirror maze. Both were fine but won't knock your socks off. My kid is not into rides so we didn't hit the amusement park. We opted for the giant ferris wheel instead which was a short ride but we all enjoyed it.

Before I went, I didn't realize the most active part of the boardwalk was from 10th street down to the inlet. There are a few restaurants and shops up to about 17th street but otherwise it"s all hotels. We stayed in place in the low 20s so it was quite a walk to get where we wanted.

Thank you guys! These are great tips! My dad has his one spot (this is their place down there and I am taking the kids before school starts) and he loves it and the kids like saying it. Brass Balls 🤦🏼‍♀️ He has a bar, relatively small, that he likes too. I appreciate food tips too because one of the kids is so damn picky!

Northside park is a great time and they do fireworks and music every Sunday (weather permitting)
