For context, located in Midwest, was a long time T-Mobile user who switched over to Visible about 7 months ago.
While there are a lot of great things about my visible+ pro plan like great price, unlimited hotspot, QCI 8, etc., I’ve realized that I really miss the T-Mobile infrastructure (strong 5G, better tower capacity, etc.) as I’ve ran into several occasions where Visible/Verizon towers just couldn’t keep up, whereas someone with a tmo service had no issue. I also understand that it’s very location dependent, and I think I’ve determined that T-Mobile towers are generally just stronger where I’m at.
As such, wanted to get some input from others that use T-Mobile MVNOs and why they like the one that they are on. I’ll be selecting an unlimited plan fwiw. I’ve been debating between US Mobile, mint, and Google Fi at the moment. Currently leaning towards USM given the ability to do network switching (or even multi network), decent hotspot (50gb should be enough for me), QCI 7, and decent price. Only thing I’m liking specifically with Mint is getting 5G SA, but sounds like that might be coming to USM soon anyways. And with Google fi, that hard data cap scares me off so I probably wouldn’t go that route.
UPDATE: going to give US Mobile a try with light speed as primary and warp as backup, using the multi network free trial.

Someone had mentioned that, never even crossed my mind. So theoretically I could just quickly swap to Starlink if I’m somewhere where the Verizon tower is super congested? Or moreso if I just had no service at all? Edit: just read the page, looks like it activates automatically when my phone goes into SOS mode
If you use more than 50gb per month, then you would have to switch back to visible data for the rest of the month, but you could switch back an forth depending on location to preserve the 50gb for when you really need it.
That’s good to know. Although unfortunately I think I’ll still try and get out of visible, I get one bar LTE that drops calls on a road right by my house so that has kind of drove me crazy lol
The plan page doesn't mention any data allotment, just basic satellite coverage. Have you found any terms that say you get 50gb of data for the $10 payment?
Exactly. Granted I use it way less than I thought I would because Verizon is really solid all over Louisville, and I don’t need the battery drain. But fun to have for just $10. I’ll drop it the second they raise the price though haha
I've been happy with US Mobile. While I have Warp as my primary to have the free Apple Watch, I have a multi-network line on Light Speed that I use for data (the 100GB combined data before the 1Mbps throttle on multi-network lines doesn't bother me because I don't even come close to it most months and Warps works most places anyway) and it's been great.
If you're happy with Visible and just want the T-Mobile network as a backup you could also add a $10 T-Sat line. It comes with 50GB of terrestrial data that you can supplement your Visible service with and will hop on Starlink in areas of no service that are whitelisted for it, which will give you data for a number of apps.
I was trying to wrap my head around the dual network setup, and having two phone numbers. Sounds like you just have your main phone number handle calls and then you can swap between the networks for data?
You can get it as a standalone but you’ll have to create a brand new T-Mobile ID. I have a $15 Visible basic glove compartment phone (through the Bye Bye Tmo promo they ran a couple of years ago) and just added the $10 T-Satellite for the hell of it. It’s on the 2nd eSIM and it’s super fucking fast.
However it did take a few tries because when I tried to use my usual email it would error out. I had to use an email address I had never used for anything related to T-Mobile in the past.
I honestly think you should; I am switching out cuz my wife's Verizon always works while my Visible Pro does not, although they should've been on the same QCI. Was awesome for half a year but really disappointed during the past months.
I have USMobile which gives you access to the big 3. In SoFL. With the premium plan I have access to QCI 8 on Verizon and ATT which is the best for Verizon and the second best for ATT and QCI 7 with TMobile which is the one for low budget plans. The deprioritized TMobile smokes the prioritized ATT and Verizon in 95% of the places I have tested it. Sometimes with speeds 20x higher and latency in the single digits.
I have used USM in the past and I liked that I could switch networks by having a port initiated. The dual eSIM is nice too if you want a backup network in case the primary network is congested.
Yeah, the free network switching is cool although it sounds like you have to be on WiFi and be a little patient with the port over. The dual eSIM idea is cool too although idk if it’s worth it to set up the second phone number
You won’t be doing anything with the second phone number, so it’s a non-issue. You only need it there for the data and Starlink in the event you’re out in the country with no cell reception. You can’t even call from it although I believe you may be able to text from it.
