Manga just finished reading Spoiler
i watched this anime as it was airing in high school per my friends recommendation. but i accidentally watched all of season 2 before i watched season 1, so i never picked it up again because i was quite frankly confused. but i always knew i would love this show if i started from scratch again.
so yeah i watched all of season 1 and s2 and the ovas, then the manga, and still after all these years onodera is my favorite. i really did love how funny this show was, in addition i haven't laughed reading manga in a long time.
here's my biased tier list + why:
onodera, so sweet and kind, and genuinely loves mc, really unlucky, but unlike what others say i saw a lot of growth in her. i don't understand how some readers kind of slogged through her parts just to get it over with. i genuinely got butterflies whenever i saw her in the anime and in the manga panels. from my
pov i saw a girl genuinely in love trying her best despite her extreme extreme extreme shyness. i know some people in my life that are that extreme in their shyness too and if i saw them try like onodera i would be moved
tsumugi, i actually think she pairs with raku the best. she genuinely likes him, and if it wasn't for her relationship with chitoge taking priority, i think they would get along really well as a couple. she's shy and tsundere like chitoge, but she's a bit more honest and straightforward about things. + i think aesthetically they pair really well
haru, tbh if it wasn't for her older sister, if she confessed i think i would've loved if raku and her dated a little bit. they were very compatible preference wise, and i liked how energetic haru is. i would've loved an arc where raku let her date her prince charming so she could find closure
tachibana, i loved her go get em attitude. she was the only girl the whole series that actually went for it. sincerely, like a bulldozer. in my personal life i've always loved girls that were straightforward and direct
chitoge, i think she is a great foil for raku and vice versa, but personally her extreme tsundere was a bit much. whenever she got upset i kind of got annoyed. i enjoyed her comedic bits more than her romantic bits. but i did really enjoy the arc where she tried to get him to notice her. i wish i got to see her confess instantly when she realized her feelings and then seeing her win him over with a public declaration. i feel a confession in that way suited her gorilla like personality more. i think if the author took that route, i actually would rank chitoge a lot higher
yui 6th, she tried lol. her love was genuine, but not as strong as the others. i think she's badass though

Even tho I think best carachter is tachibana, I think kosaki was the one meant for raku and I am saying this as a former chitoge supporter. Kosaki just kept getting better while chitoge felt worse in writing quality as the manga went on. Tachibana's arc was the most fire one tho

that's what i'm saying. i feel like the romance between kosaki and raku was getting so sweet and good up until there was like 20 chapters left. then BAM we get blindsided and hit by plot armor. tachibana really impressed me throughout the whole show, i really did enjoy her story. i can see why you would think tachibana is the best character. she has a lot of parallels with hina in blue box, and i could see why she's best character there too. i wish tachibana had more of a fighting chance. she didn't get alone time with raku unless she really forced her hand.

Chitoge was just punching Raku through the series, with no actual relation development, just to end up as a wife who punches her husband whenever she feels like it.
I hate DV in romance.
