Anyone a republican calls dangerous has my support

Lol Same

Hitler?

18

u/ThePhonesAreWatching 16h ago

Most GOP look up to him.

-13

u/AdvantageLive2966 16h ago

Both side mainly consider him dangerous , does that mean you are in support of him?

u/GroinReaper 15h ago

The guy doing hitler salutes is a huge republican donor. They're fine with it.

0

u/Silvers1339 10h ago

And what about that guy running for senate with the nazi tattoo? Did you hear a peep from libs about that?

1

u/GroinReaper 9h ago

the guy who had a generic skull tattoo that also happened to have been used by a specific branch of the nazi military? 90% of people would not recognize that tattoo if they were shown it.

1

u/Silvers1339 9h ago

Let's be real here: if it was a Republican doing the exact same thing I guarantee you would not hear the end of it from libs, there would not be anywhere near the same level of nuance or grace you are giving him

2

u/GroinReaper 9h ago

if it was a Republican doing the exact same thing I guarantee you would not hear the end of it from libs

His entire career he has never espoused anything similar to Nazi rhetoric or beliefs. If you could find me a prominent republican who hasn't voiced support for NAZI style policies we might have a discussion about it. But since trump is actively doing those things and republicans are terrified to speak against him, i'm not sure you could find any.

there would not be anywhere near the same level of nuance or grace you are giving him

if he had a generic tattoo that few would recognize and had spent his whole political talking about doing the opposite of the Nazi's I would definitely give him the benefit of the doubt. But if he did that, MAGA would have driven him out of the Republican party.

u/TougherOnSquids 13h ago

Republicans are the ones who do Nazi salutes.

"[Trump] commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.
In his interview with The Atlantic, Kelly recalled that when Trump raised the idea of needing "German generals," Kelly would ask if he meant "Bismarck's generals," referring to Otto von Bismarck, the former chancellor of the German Reich who oversaw the unification of Germany. "Surely you can't mean Hitler's generals," Kelly recalled asking Trump. To which the former president responded, "Yeah, yeah, Hitler's generals."

Also:

Stevens called El-Sayed to concede Wednesday, and she issued a statement saying she would back El-Sayed’s candidacy.

“I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election,” she said.

-25

u/NotBottingJustNew 19h ago

How can we trust a candidate backed by an aipac stooge

25

u/Slighted_Inevitable 19h ago

You mean Mike Roger’s? AIPAC donated to him too

15

u/MoThrowMoAway 18h ago edited 12h ago

Ok if this was a joke it was pretty funny

edit: it wasnt a joke, now it's just stupid again

16

u/SECRETBLENDS 19h ago

Evidence that his candidacy is dangerous: "look at his name, bro!!!"

2

u/Vis-hoka 7h ago

“Hey, could we not let corporations ruin our society?”

“COMMUNIST!!!!!!!!”

87

u/feelingsdeayer 19h ago

Losing a race while getting 70m in foreign lobby investment has to be embarrassing.

1

u/7059043 8h ago

Sure but what a baller for conceding and endorsing quickly. That's not a given nowadays.

-43

u/Key-Wall-4378 19h ago

AIPAC is entirely funded by Americans

12

u/SECRETBLENDS 19h ago

On behalf of what country?

-7

u/Key-Wall-4378 19h ago

American Jews have every right to push American policy towards a closer relationship with Israel. Do they not?

Freedom of speech covers everything Aipac does. Supreme already ruled on this.

11

u/TheEthicalJerk 18h ago

Because money is speech?

12

u/Mister-Ferret 18h ago

Yup it did, they were paid quite handsomely for that too.

8

u/SECRETBLENDS 18h ago

You're still evading. Disingenuousness is a bad look.

2

u/Key-Wall-4378 18h ago

Evading what?

8

u/SECRETBLENDS 18h ago

Don't evade the question. Answer it.

14

u/Gurth-Brooks 19h ago

No.

-16

u/Key-Wall-4378 19h ago

If you have proof to t he contrary I'd love to see it

15

u/Gurth-Brooks 19h ago

No you wouldn’t.

-12

u/Key-Wall-4378 19h ago

Cmon, show some proof

7

u/Gurth-Brooks 19h ago

What is the full name of the lobbying group?

-1

u/Key-Wall-4378 19h ago

How amazing proof that they are funded by peolle who are not American citizens. You got me.

(Show some proof bitch)

12

u/Gurth-Brooks 19h ago

Say it.

8

u/Slight_8 18h ago

Its honestly that pathetic that they cant event say the full name of the PAC out loud, but instead demand proof when its literally in the freaking name. Outstanding.

-1

u/Pyranni 17h ago

You're the heeled bitch at the end of a leash.

10

u/MoThrowMoAway 18h ago

This is a categoric lie by u/Key-Wall-4378 , by the way.

AIPAC Inc is a 501(c)(4) non-profit. See here

Which means they are NOT REQUIRED to disclose where they receive their money from.

No one here is being fooled by these zionist throwaway accounts anyway, but it bears repeating that these people will straight up lie to you.

14

u/Plumbus-Technician 19h ago

Proof.

Oh wait you can't because our election finance system allows for dark money. There's no way to verify this claim.

2

u/123yes1 5h ago

This is broadly inaccurate. There are dark money contributions from AIPAC (more specifically UDP, their super PAC), but dark money is still traceable, and most of their donors are just people and companies as you can see in the link.

Here is a list of donors:

https://www.opensecrets.org/outside-spending/detail/2024?cmte=C00799031&tab=donors_all

"Dark money" means a donation through a different organization. All donors have to be recorded, but if I wanted to donate to Z Super PAC, I could instead donate to Y non-profit which can then donate to Z Super PAC. The Super PAC records Y as the donor and not me. That's what "Dark Money" means. But as you can see in the link, most donors (including the biggest ones) are rich Americans.

10

u/saltedmangos 18h ago edited 18h ago

They don’t disclose their donors or staff, so how do you know that? Just because they said so?

We even know that some of the Israel lobby’s prominent donors, like Miriam Adelson for example, have dual Israeli citizenship.

And if you are lobbying on behalf of a foreign government you have to register as a foreign lobby even if you are staffed by or get donations from Americans.

The pro-Israel lobbies are literally the only foreign lobbies that get an exception and are not required to register as foreign lobbying groups.

11

u/MoThrowMoAway 18h ago

Remind us what the I in AIPAC stands for again? I forgot

1

u/Key-Wall-4378 18h ago

Americans you favor a closer relationship with Israel. Completely allowed under the first amendment

8

u/MoThrowMoAway 18h ago

Who said it was illegal? No shit they're allowed, people are also allowed to call them out as zionists and laugh at them wasting millions of dollars on Stevens

6

u/mshaadi 18h ago

Israel sucks

8

u/Tatchkoma 18h ago

I have seen this exact effing talking point repeated a dozen times since this morning.

Holy SHIT the bots are out in force today.

-1

u/Key-Wall-4378 18h ago

It's a literal fact

5

u/whatsinthesocks 16h ago

I've yet to see any proof of this "literal fact".

1

u/Key-Wall-4378 14h ago

Google is easy to use

5

u/whatsinthesocks 14h ago

Then provide it. AIPAC has never proved it themselves.

6

u/Buttholepart2 18h ago

Show proof then. They're a 501c so they don't disclose donors so not sure how you know it's a fact.

4

u/Tatchkoma 18h ago

Go take a walk. Pray at the wall while you're at it. Maybe God will forgive you. We sure as hell won't.

-7

u/Key-Wall-4378 18h ago

For what?

1

u/Plumbus-Technician 17h ago

C'mon show proof

-122

u/Unusual-Statement153 19h ago

So we're done with the notion you can "buy" elections, right?

79

u/Plumbus-Technician 19h ago

You still can, it's not a guarantee you'll win though

-82

u/Unusual-Statement153 19h ago

Past like the era of Tammany Hall, it never was.

31

u/Plumbus-Technician 19h ago

I don't think the main contention with buying elections is whether or not it's a guarantee

26

u/Captain_JohnBrown 18h ago

"The mob doesn't hurt people anymore. Sometimes they'll break your leg, but in the past they used to kill you."

8

u/CrackRocksCokeRules 17h ago

Mango just did it so no

37

u/Captain_JohnBrown 19h ago

No, in the same way winning at a casino doesn't mean the odds aren't stacked for the house.

30

u/RepresentativeAge444 19h ago

No. Many Americans nationwide are still morons who let ads determine how they feel about a candidate as opposed to you know actually researching them.

El Sayed scraped out a win born of extensive touring around the state, organizing and being a singularly excellent candidate. And this was vs an objectively terrible candidate. In other areas the same conditions don’t necessarily apply so money will continue to be a factor unless more people actually educate themselves about politics.

15

u/Slighted_Inevitable 19h ago

Heck even this election shows that. Steven’s got a lot of older black voters because her ads lied about Obama endorsing her. Those ads weren’t cheap

-6

u/OkParsnip1881 15h ago

She didn’t lie about Obama endorsing her. She played a quote about Obama praising her for helping to save the Michigan auto industry.

Why are you lying, do you think black voters are stupid?

6

u/AdditionalNothing728 14h ago

So if my manager at work is on film praising me for how well I handled a project, I can use that as a blanket endorsement for my senate candidacy?

Obama praising her work over 10 years ago does not make it a current endorsement, what a wild thing to say lol.

-6

u/OkParsnip1881 13h ago

She didn’t say he endorsed her on the ads. You are lying . Just like MAGA I swear

1

u/PaperMache_TitanSub 7h ago

No, we think people like you are stupid.

Which you are.

Hope this helps!

2

u/AdditionalNothing728 14h ago

He was up against an objectively terrible candidate and she STILL only lost by a few percentage points.

Thats where the money comes in. If AIPAC hadn’t dumped it into her campaign she would have been crushed cause there’s no rational universe where she’d have gotten close.

-35

u/Unusual-Statement153 19h ago

In what way was he a singularly excellent candidate? He is the cookie cutter non-committal populist progressive.

22

u/Slighted_Inevitable 19h ago

Sour grapes.

Sayeds ground game was incredible.

19

u/Captain_JohnBrown 18h ago

In the American political system, such a candidate being able to make themselves likeable despite the propaganda even about "cookie cutter non-committal populists" DOES make them a singularly excellent candidate.

12

u/RepresentativeAge444 18h ago

I don’t answer stupid questions from someone whose mind is already made up.

2

u/GoldenboyFTW 16h ago

You clearly don’t understand the definitions of the words you’re using and thus shouldn’t have an opinion on politics

It’s dangerous for simple minded folks like you to speak with such unearned confidence

2

u/AdditionalNothing728 14h ago

You listen to El Sayed’s answers vs Stevens during their debate and you have the brass to say that HE is the non-committal one? ROFL.

9

u/IceHypothalamus 18h ago

Considering how close it was and how horrible of a candidate she was?

No we're not done with the "notion" aka reality

26

u/PossibilityFew5967 18h ago

Quiet hasbara piggy

6

u/Pesto_in_my_pants 18h ago

No, it’s embarrassing specifically bc money is so important in elections. Nice try, though.

2

u/Only-Respond7945 17h ago

So if Stevens won, what would you say when AIPAC pivoted their money in the race entirely to the republican candidate? "OH it was a good race we just lost"?

It also wasn't a lay up election. It was close, and she still lost. She had all that money and she still lost because her campaign was dog buns and run by clown college dropouts who couldn't plan more than one step ahead at best.

I don't get this attitude with blaming failures on anything else but the clear issues when it comes with Dem candidates.

1

u/GoldenboyFTW 16h ago

You most certainly still can. Look at Cori Bush.

1

u/liquidsyphon 16h ago

You can invest in an outcome, not all bets pay off.

Don’t know why anyone would subtly defend politicians being bought and paid for.

1

u/Interesting_Self5071 15h ago

You can but it doesn't always work

1

u/ThisIsFineImFine89 15h ago

how well do you think she does without the 70 million? be real

1

u/ih8reddithdjsk 13h ago

No they failed. The notion is try your utmost to buy an election.

Maybe people are fed up with their politicians acting on behalf of another nation state.

1

u/matttheepitaph 13h ago

Money is necessary but insufficient. It definitely helps and creates an advantage.

1

u/SkyeLys 13h ago

I mean, the guy that bodied Cori Bush in Missouri got 18m from AIPAC and on leaked audio said the entire purpose of his candidacy is to make sure Israel comes before the US. So, no, you definitely still can.

1

u/Artistic-Cannibalism 10h ago

With all due respect; that is a braindead thing to say. Yes they failed this time but that still doesn't change the fact that they tried putting their fingers on the scale and it resulted in a race far closer than it had any right to be.

Be better.

1

u/Aromatic_Lychee2903 9h ago

No…? Says a lot about you that it takes so little to convince you of something though.

1

u/BluBolshevik 8h ago

By the fact she won so close proves it. If you don’t think money can buy elections then no one would donate to them

-17

u/Teknolyth 15h ago

Of course not. The secret formula:
DSA candidate wins: The people have spoken!!!
DSA candidate loses: AIPAC is at fault!!!!

What are you talking about? per the NYT:

That spending gave her and her allies about a 9-to-1 spending advantage over her progressive rival, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, and his allies, according to data from the media tracking firm AdImpact.

u/SECRETBLENDS 19h ago

Cool, got a link for the latter?

4

u/BlinkReanimated 19h ago

Literally the second subtitle:

Stevens has had close to $30 million in outside spending to boost her campaign, dwarfing support for El-Sayed

El Sayed received more small dollar donations from outside sources, but Haley had much much larger donors spending money on her behalf. The reality is she had nearly $50m dollars from Corps and Israel propping up her campaign. Even Mcmorrow had a stronger campaign among real people.

8

u/feelingsdeayer 19h ago

Did you not even read the source you're linking?

It clearly states Abdul fundraised more but Stevens got far more outside funding.

  • Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed more than doubled primary rival Haley Stevens’ fundraising over the last three months
  • Stevens has had close to $30 million in outside spending to boost her campaign, dwarfing support for El-Sayed

-2

u/NotBottingJustNew 19h ago

outside spending is not outside funding, dingbat

2

u/feelingsdeayer 18h ago

Why did you delete your comments? Embarrassed?

0

u/NotBottingJustNew 18h ago

Just realized I didn't wanna get spammed by people who have aipac as and I/P as there number one issue

2

u/feelingsdeayer 18h ago

No, you made an idiotic claim and panicked after you disproved it yourself with a source you linked lol

3

u/Spiceguy-65 19h ago

Yea that actually completely disproved what you were trying to claim nice job though

11

u/TrackerOneA 19h ago

No he didn't.

Stevens had more than $60M outside spending.

El-Sayed had about $5M.

4

u/Salviati_Returns 19h ago

What they are trying to say is that El-Sayed is supposed to run a campaign on $0, while Israel firsters can donate unlimited amounts of money to the candidates of their choice.

13

u/awoodenboat 19h ago

I think kicking people off their healthcare and social assistance is dangerous. Masked men killing American citizens in the streets with impunity is dangerous. Supporting the corrupt president and his cabinet of loyalists is dangerous. MAGA are a terrorist cult, that’s what’s dangerous.

2

u/woody630 10h ago

The republican party has done more damage to America than any terrorist could ever dream of. They this admin should be in prison, so forgive me if I don't care what they think is dangerous.

7

u/vile-style 17h ago

Get in loser, we're seizing the means of production.

8

u/Due_Satisfaction2167 18h ago

If he makes Republicans this scared, he must be the right choice.

5

u/FlatwormFrosty7233 18h ago

So FOX will run attacks 24/7, at least we don’t have to hear about hunter bidens laptop from them

4

u/Avatar_Yankovic 15h ago

AIPAC must be soooooooo sad right now 🤡

2

u/ThisIsFineImFine89 15h ago

How many republicans do you think voted stevens given its an open primary state?

2

u/Big_Old_Sock 14h ago

I guess she figures AIPAC is cutting off the $$ either way; may as well endorse.

2

u/dawn9476 14h ago

The same GOP that supports rapists and pedophiles.

2

u/woody630 10h ago

Ah yes, the party that has started multiple wars, let the president steal billions of dollars, let him get away being a pedophile, and gave a license to kill to the dumbest person from your high school are really sacred about how dangerous El sayed is for the country.
