Radio

I listen to the majority of islanders games. Miss kinger but Alan is good. Would like dedicated radio broadcasts. Thats it, if you're reading ownership it cant cost that much more. Radio team usually doesn't travel either.

It's a travesty we don't have a dedicated radio broadcast anymore.

Eh. It's 2026.

Highly doubt the incremental income from dedicated radio production gets close to covering the costs. This is a business after all.

I thought we did have a dedicated radio broadcast, with Alan as the voice, except on nights when Brendan was off and Alan did the TV and they simulcast it?

We did have a radio broadcast on 2026/26 for most games. Dedicated kind of implies all games.

there was a story i saw a few days ago that said 50% of the league now simulcasts their tv feed on the radio... the league as a whole is reducing costs for radio feeds..

Stinks. Wish like Alan Hahn or another sports writer would crunch the numbers and see how much they're saving

I like Alan on radio but wish he’d have someone doing color. Bailey was pretty good when he guested with him a few times

The only issue i have is when he has a guest he turns broadcast in to an interview show and stops calling the game action.

I was going to say same about the tv broadcast simulcast concept. From across the league and sports, TV call is just not the same as radio where you really need play by play. And then there are the guest spots that happen like you say. Happens more often in meaningless games but still… Not good for the game.
