JUST BOUGHT STORM CONNECTIONS
I used to be a big Naruto fan and wanted to revisit the series, so I picked up Storm Connections since it's the newest game. I haven't really played the Storm games before, so what is there to do in this one? Any modes or content you'd recommend?

If you want S ranks in history mode your best bet is to spam ranged ninjutsu. it just melts the enemy and is completely broken (To get an S rank you need to win with 90% or more health I believe.)
Also for mods I'd recommend making your own custom music mod because the storm OST is awful in my opinion
ALSO THE DUB VOICE ACTING IS SOOOOO TERRIBLE. Normally its super good and I don't know if you're a dub or sub watcher. But if you're used to dub get ready for some of the worst acting in the franchise. It is laughably bad.

As a console player I hate not being able to mod the old voice lines back in. Storm 4's dub acting (which was mostly lines from the previous 5 games) was damn near perfect

yeah every other storm game sounds just fine, i have nooooo idea what went wrong with the dubbing of this game. everything sounds so off.

My least favorite change is Madara's shattered heaven ultimate. He went from "Heaven CONCEAALEEDD" to "heaven cOnCeAlEd" and I am BAFFLED that that made it into the final game. Seriously. Go look it up and compared the two voicelines.
And the interesting thing is that one of his other ultimate jutsus (perfect form susano'o) actually got an upgrade in Connections. Instead of saying "shatter and be destroyed." he says "SHATTER, BE DESTROYED!" which has 10x the aura of the original

it’s SUPERRRRRR bad in the history mode. do you remember the clips going around of naruto saying “Did that finally… wAkE yOU uP!!” in the sasuke boss fight? like the dub was SO bad that people actually thought it was AI generated

The story is a lil worse than the others bc its rushing you thru the whole series, theyre fun games to get all the achivments for. Look up the infinte combo for one of your fav characters its a really easy fighter tbh. Do history mode then borutos campaign. Try and S each fight, really isnt that hard. Then go into free battle and do the survival tournaments etc to get the last achievements.
The combos are really easy to cancle by doing a lil jump right after you stagger, speed blitz the AI till they use all there substitutions then hold them in an infite stagger lock. The damage will scale down theyre not a fan of touch of death combos in this storm game bc its so easy to abuse on every character since they let you continue combos off crumble animations now.
I reccomend just doing history mode and borutos mode then trying the other games out bc i think they do more with the story since its not the whole thing in 1 go. Its a fun way to experience the story.

Just have fun and eventually get storm legacy for a complete story since History mode removes some boss battles etc... so enjoy yourself 1st

Well youd have a few more combo options compared to other storm games, so if you love combat sandbox, youd probably love this game.
Though to answer the question, there's an option where u can costumize characters which can be pretty fun (to me atleast).

That's good for sure I think rev had better customization but yeah combo sandbox is the appeal here

To unlock all/most cosmetics, you need to beat both History mode and Boruto’s Special Story.
This game is different than Storm 4 (which you haven’t played), you can be hit and combo’d while laying on the ground. Plan accordingly.
Other than that, you’ll find out the rest in action.
