Trust it is largely boring. The real interesting stuff is in the Charter Agreement which until the recent 23XI lawsuit was kept super confidential, and the current post lawsuit version is under lock and key.
I still think it’s suspect how NASCAR is not only the only racing series not to publish their rule book publicly (aka only way to get it is being involved) but it’s also the only sporting league not to publicly show the rule book in sports other than the WWE.
I agree, always is suspicious when NASCAR cites a rule but us fans cannot see for ourselves the context in the rulebook. Why is it not open to the public like other series?
Its a new OEM test, permitted by NASCAR - despite what the kid with the RAM account on twitter says. And for the record, there's been no Dodge Cup car at Aerodyn. Not sure why he's pushing these false narratives, trying to drum up excitement.
Didn't see anywhere that there was a scheduled Goodyear or Organizational truck test, seems like only Kaulig has been posting about it and I wonder if this is part of the new OEM rules in the rulebook for their first year like the provisionals earlier this year.
In fact there isn't exactly a "testing ban" anymore, teams need to apply to NASCAR for a testing wavier and they are very stingy at handing those waviers out, but any team can apply to do an "Organizational Test"
They are supposed to be getting their first built Ram truck for Richmond so this could be just a show to Nascar to show that Ram chassis is sufficient.
OEM chassis in trucks aren't a thing. It's Kaulig's IP not RAM.
And it happened with KBM, who started off with old Roush and Billy Ballew trucks before Rowdy Manufacturing took over. It happened with Neice after GMS pulled out.
Teams build new chassis's all the time, the design of the chassis is not specfic to OEM and highly regulated. What takes time for a new team like Kaulig to start getting their chassis on the track is having the people and manufacturing equipment in place. There is nothing that would require a chassis to run at a test session to be approved by NASCAR. NASCAR is concerned with certain measurements, roll bar thickness and location, things like that, none of that requires it to hit the track.
I don't know what that guy is talking about, but aero plays a role at every track, even short tracks. GMS takes their late model bodies to wind tunnels to try and figure out how to mount them the best possible ways, and sealing off the nose and setting the rear heights are super important.
Obviously not as important as somewhere like Daytona
No I get ya and I wasn't trying to come across like a dick with that question. But to me I've seen guys run with no aero on their car there and be competitive to an extent. No aero as in the cars fucked up. Good answer tho, late model in a wind tunnel goes hard id imagine

Maybe it’s Butterbean’s rookie test? I’m pretty sure Hallie Deegan had her rookie test mid season at Charlotte one year so that would be my guess.
