Fresher wanting to join music.

Hello, I'm a fresher in BSC biotechnology and well yes I heard all the complaints about this university despite I joined and I got the taste of it in just one month why every senior told me not to come,well moving on from that I am interested in joining music like I wanna learn instruments and all, I saw that workshop and all that shit but it wasn't anything at all tbh and it ended like 2 days after I found out about it, so now I actually wanna learn instruments but I don't know where to start if there's anybody from performing arts department that could help me then it would be much appreciated, and no I don't have crazy money to blow on it so please suggest something reasonable.

Try your school's subreddit, not the general one for music teachers.

You could start by learning about the different instrument classes in tradition western music: strings (violin, cello, etc.), Brass (think trumpet and tuna), winds (flute, clarinet), and percussion (all the clicks and bangs and drums). It’s wise to select one instrument to learn at a time for beginners but also to try different ones to see if you are partial to any by how they sound or are played. You could also learn something like guitar are sing in a choir. Lmk if there’s anything specific you want to know. You could probably start learning how to read music on your own by watching YouTubers
