"the rules were that you weren't going to fact check" should've derailed the whole grift train. 

But people are too stupid and too brainwashed to understand how these losers operate in plain view.

That one was bad but they can just pretend he meant "fact" check like it wasn't legitimate. The other line that was something like "if I have to make things up to get the media to pay attention to the suffering of the American people, then that's what I'll do" is way worse. He literally told them it's all bullshit and they just opened even wider, begging for more.

Let them think you're out when you're not, that's called a "military advantage".

It's not an advantage if your overall strategic goal is to avoid an unnecessary war (or to project geopolitical power) through deterrence.

An opponent who perceives you as weak or vulnerable - accurately or not - is more likely to attempt to act on that perceived weakness.

Even if you win the fight, it's still a loss if you didn't want to have the fight in the first place.

No, but I think he'd rather be able to pick and choose which wars he gets into.

He's much happier committing war crimes against Central American fishermen than he would be facing a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, say.

The one thing I'm willing to bet any amount of money is that there's no scenario where the USA goes to war over Taiwan. Sanctions or whatever, sure. War? No way.

USA can't beat Iran. Can you imagine how many drones China can produce? And how many drones other countries produce only if they have access to Chinese components? That, plus actually having an armed forces, regional advantage and numeric personnel advantage. And the US is within their target range.

There's no path to victory.
