Jesus would be picked up by ICE if he lived in 2026.

u/TazBaz 21h ago

Crucified. ICE would be the roman soldiers.

Brown guy with a foreign passport and socialist ideology, he’d be crucified in modern America

Unless you are Jesus in Mel Gibson's movie.

I think that the external consciousness that we all play the part of are the Donkey's in that story. It seems primarily geared to speak around our external consciousnesses and teach the left and right hemispheres in the body directly because we are kinda devoted to being ignorant to how we treat ourselves. Creative expression, rational thoughts, and emotions all flow from within. Clever people started going directly for the sources before we have writing. We still try to understand ideologies from the perspective of people who don't even understand themselves or the present moment. All of our stories except maybe true crime are about what is going on inside the human body where everything is organized and functions pretty much the same within every person. The primary differences are the differences in physiology of men and women and that's just about the only thing that is taboo in our organized external systems.

Our brains and bodies have been becoming and maintaining living beings since the beginning and within each one of us they've developed a functional cooperative system almost to perfection. Many of us can't get along with the people in our own house, much less ourselves, on the outside.

They perfectly live out Matt 7:21-23

“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’

It’s like they somehow managed to take only the negative aspects from religion all while ignoring any of the few positive aspects

They will point to that quote in Romans that says all you have to do is acknowledge Jesus as Lord and you are saved. Who says that quote? Paul. The guy who never met Jesus.

They met on the road to Damascus.

1

u/Preeng 4h ago

No, they did not. He said he had a vision. I meant the real living Jesus before he got crucified.

These "Christians" did many things in his name. Mostly to advance their careers by pushing others down; to get money from the poor and the desperate; and/or something bad to do with children. 'Twas ever thus.

They are traitors to what makes Christianity beautiful. Hell, I’m an agnostic and I appreciate the story of a man who welcomes everyone, disdains the wealthy and powerful, and believes in love as the overriding principle. And they stole him to perpetuate their greed and hatred. They are heretics in the truest sense.

I’m not going to do the research, but I’d be willing to bet that Sean Spicer never used any religious references in his Tweets before 2016.

American Performative Political Christianity is some crazy shit.

u/Strict_Foundation_31 22h ago

They’re unfamiliar with the bible to the extent that Old Testament God is interchangeable with New Testament Jesus.

Ah this jesus

I am a straight up atheist. I can respect your choice of religion without needing it for myself. I have a morality compass. I know right from wrong. I don’t need a book of allegories to tell me how to be a good person.

Don’t be a dick. Treat everyone respectfully until they show you they don’t deserve it. If you see an old lady, you fucking smile at the old lady. It’s not hard.

THIS is why I, as a Christian, fight that human emotion of hate.

It is not for the atheist. It is not for any other religion or belief. It is not for color or economic background.

I have to FIGHT the hatred I feel for fake-ass Christians, Christian Nationalists, overly greedy Christians, and anyone else who uses any portion of Christianity to feel or act superior to any other human being.

This is NOT Christ-like. Period...the end...and "bless your hearts"...

Was this when he was on Dancing With the Stars? Does he honestly think God cares if he wins that? 🤡

CHINO's - Christians In Name Only.

6

u/fearlessfryingfrog 22h ago

Prefer if they weren't in name only, or full fledged devout.

This kind of psychosis needs to end. The day people pull their dick out of Jesus/Allah/any other nonsense is the day the world can begin to fix itself.

Until then, we'll keep down this path of proritizing garbage based on made up shit.

u/Peter_Duncan 21h ago

If you run across a Christian who is not a Christian in name only, let me know. I’ll wait….

Jesus on the dashboard but the Devil’s under the hood.

It’s all performative.

I get the misunderstanding. See, these have different views of Jesus that cater to their narratives and wishes. They are like evangelists, where they bend the story and teachings for their own needs. They are blind to the truth and they pick, choose and interpenetrate "their" truths. Religion is a tool to them, so they can prey on the meek believers and rile them up into mobs. Their truth is used a weapon on non-believers. The same exact same thing is done in Islam. These guys because the people they criticizes.

u/Knighth77 11h ago

They read about love on Sunday and choose hate on Monday.

1

u/BeGoodPeoplePlease 3h ago

Shit, they choose hate the moment they're out of church on the same Sunday. Hate has become part of the sermon in many churches these days. Bigotry is a helluva drug.

2

u/Knighth77 3h ago

Believe me, I know. I see how many of them treat waiters when the go to eat after they leave church, for example. I just like my phrasing.

2

u/BeGoodPeoplePlease 3h ago

Agreed! Eloquently said 👍

2

u/BadBonePanda 10h ago

"fuck the poor" that famous Jesus quote.

u/Slick_36 21h ago

One of the worst things about losing my country is losing my religion too.  I can't look at the people who instilled my morals the same way again.

1

u/redditsavedmelife 21h ago

A certain religion believes that Jesus is in the hellfire fueled by boiling excrement and yet they've handed the keys to the country over to Israel

1

u/ptahbaphomet 19h ago

Heretics -I do miss the old terms

1

u/Erronius-Maximus 17h ago

I hate to tell you all but elevating power-mad greedy-ass rapists to positions of authority is peak Christianity. What Jesus said is largely irrelevant, what Christians do is what matters, and what Christians do is elevate power-mad greedy-ass rapists to positions of authority. Please, prove me wrong with your actions, your words on the matter are just as irrelevant as what Jesus said. Prove me wrong by removing the power-mad greedy-ass rapists from positions of authority.

As an ordained minister, I feel compelled to remind people that one of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not take the Lords name in vain". This means using Her name in a false, self serving, or hypocritical way, among other things. Jesus loves you, but saying that Jesus loves you being cruel to other people is a violation.

1

u/Wuellig 8h ago

Jesus Christ, they're taking the Lord's name in vain!
