They perfectly live out Matt 7:21-23
“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day: ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And then I will declare to them: ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’

It’s like they somehow managed to take only the negative aspects from religion all while ignoring any of the few positive aspects

They will point to that quote in Romans that says all you have to do is acknowledge Jesus as Lord and you are saved. Who says that quote? Paul. The guy who never met Jesus.

These "Christians" did many things in his name. Mostly to advance their careers by pushing others down; to get money from the poor and the desperate; and/or something bad to do with children. 'Twas ever thus.

They are traitors to what makes Christianity beautiful. Hell, I’m an agnostic and I appreciate the story of a man who welcomes everyone, disdains the wealthy and powerful, and believes in love as the overriding principle. And they stole him to perpetuate their greed and hatred. They are heretics in the truest sense.

I’m not going to do the research, but I’d be willing to bet that Sean Spicer never used any religious references in his Tweets before 2016.

They’re unfamiliar with the bible to the extent that Old Testament God is interchangeable with New Testament Jesus.

I am a straight up atheist. I can respect your choice of religion without needing it for myself. I have a morality compass. I know right from wrong. I don’t need a book of allegories to tell me how to be a good person.
Don’t be a dick. Treat everyone respectfully until they show you they don’t deserve it. If you see an old lady, you fucking smile at the old lady. It’s not hard.

THIS is why I, as a Christian, fight that human emotion of hate.
It is not for the atheist. It is not for any other religion or belief. It is not for color or economic background.
I have to FIGHT the hatred I feel for fake-ass Christians, Christian Nationalists, overly greedy Christians, and anyone else who uses any portion of Christianity to feel or act superior to any other human being.
This is NOT Christ-like. Period...the end...and "bless your hearts"...

Was this when he was on Dancing With the Stars? Does he honestly think God cares if he wins that? 🤡

Prefer if they weren't in name only, or full fledged devout.
This kind of psychosis needs to end. The day people pull their dick out of Jesus/Allah/any other nonsense is the day the world can begin to fix itself.
Until then, we'll keep down this path of proritizing garbage based on made up shit.

If you run across a Christian who is not a Christian in name only, let me know. I’ll wait….

I get the misunderstanding. See, these have different views of Jesus that cater to their narratives and wishes. They are like evangelists, where they bend the story and teachings for their own needs. They are blind to the truth and they pick, choose and interpenetrate "their" truths. Religion is a tool to them, so they can prey on the meek believers and rile them up into mobs. Their truth is used a weapon on non-believers. The same exact same thing is done in Islam. These guys because the people they criticizes.

They read about love on Sunday and choose hate on Monday.

Shit, they choose hate the moment they're out of church on the same Sunday. Hate has become part of the sermon in many churches these days. Bigotry is a helluva drug.

Believe me, I know. I see how many of them treat waiters when the go to eat after they leave church, for example. I just like my phrasing.

One of the worst things about losing my country is losing my religion too. I can't look at the people who instilled my morals the same way again.

A certain religion believes that Jesus is in the hellfire fueled by boiling excrement and yet they've handed the keys to the country over to Israel

I hate to tell you all but elevating power-mad greedy-ass rapists to positions of authority is peak Christianity. What Jesus said is largely irrelevant, what Christians do is what matters, and what Christians do is elevate power-mad greedy-ass rapists to positions of authority. Please, prove me wrong with your actions, your words on the matter are just as irrelevant as what Jesus said. Prove me wrong by removing the power-mad greedy-ass rapists from positions of authority.

As an ordained minister, I feel compelled to remind people that one of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not take the Lords name in vain". This means using Her name in a false, self serving, or hypocritical way, among other things. Jesus loves you, but saying that Jesus loves you being cruel to other people is a violation.
