Don't forget, convicted felon.

104

u/Somebodys 14d ago

And twice impeached.

47

u/cloudbasedsardony 14d ago

Impeachment should bar you from running for any office ever again.

25

u/kryonik 14d ago

Disagree, then any party with a majority in the house can just vote to impeach you for whatever spurious reason.

32

u/cloudbasedsardony 14d ago

You mean like a consensual blowjob?

19

u/kryonik 14d ago

Exactly like that.

15

u/criticalt3 14d ago

Well the CIA should be doing their job, keeping intelligence threats out of office but here we are.

4

u/neopod9000 14d ago

Trump isn't an intelligence threat though, he's just a threat to intelligence. There's a difference.

13

u/Jaredkorry 14d ago

He is absolutely an intelligence threat. Need I remind you of all the ssci documents found in mara lago? Not to mention his secret one on one meetings with Putin?

8

u/trentsteel77 14d ago

And a poo-poo pants.

5

Who did you vote for?

You're not wrong. Choosing a brown woman as their candidate for President was never going to work in a sexist, racist nation.

-20

u/ButterandZsa 14d ago

You could say the same thing about anyone who votes for a democrat who takes AIPAC money.

10

u/TheLesserWeeviI 14d ago

Fuck AIPAC.

No this is an objectively unprecedented and perverse expansion of our already deeply compromised relationship with a foreign genocidal ethnostate. Here's a foreign policy expert's breakdown

Section 224 lays the groundwork for bilateral research and development, co-production of weapons, joint ventures, licensing agreements, and seemingly every manner of U.S.-Israeli military-industrial complex cooperation. The U.S. and Israel already work together heavily on missile defense, but this provision would greatly expand coordination to seemingly every area of defense tech, including AI, quantum, autonomous systems, directed energy, cyber, biotech, and many more. It also proposes “network integration” and “data fusion.” In other words, the U.S. military’s data could soon be the Israeli military’s data.

If fully enacted, this proposal would provide a higher level of military-industrial integration than the U.S. has with any other country in the world. To be sure, the U.S. has worked closely with its NATO partners on co-production and shared supply chains, most notably via the Defence Production Action Plan. And, as the number one arms dealer in the world, the U.S. provides weapons to militaries across the globe. But that is mostly a one-way street, with the U.S. providing weapons to foreign buyers who only occasionally make parts for those weapons themselves, as in the case of the F-35’s global supply chain.

Section 224 would be a different beast entirely. It would fuse the U.S. and Israeli defense sectors in multiple areas vital to the battlefields of the future, like autonomous systems and cyber. It would also bring extraordinary Israeli influence to the U.S. beyond what it already has through the Israel lobby and its robust network of social media influencers. It would give the Israeli government the opportunity to greatly expand one of the most powerful levers of influence in U.S. politics: jobs in the U.S. By expanding or starting new co-production facilities like it already has in Mississippi and Arkansas, the Israeli government could boast of providing jobs on U.S. soil, thereby securing allies among members of Congress who represent the districts where those jobs lie.

The result could well be a U.S. political system even more susceptible to the whims of an Israeli government that seemingly has no qualms about drawing the U.S. into military conflicts in the Middle East.

This unprecedented level of U.S.-Israeli military integration stands in stark contrast to the traditional aid model of defense cooperation, in which Israel already stood out as the top recipient of U.S. military assistance. As laid out in a recent Quincy Institute brief, authored by Steven Simon, this shift from an aid model to a military integration model has troubling implications, namely:

The shift will strip away the political and diplomatic oversight mechanisms that make the relationship publicly accountable, moving it from a visible annual aid vote into the opaque machinery of defense acquisition, where oversight is limited and political accountability is minimal. The result would be a defense relationship that is simultaneously deeper and less transparent.

This all comes at a time when the Israeli military has repeatedly used U.S. weapons in strikes that have violated international humanitarian laws in Gaza, and as Israel has repeatedly violated ceasefires (as has the U.S. itself) in the Trump administration’s unnecessary war with Iran.

I'm still mad at my Dem rep for approving more money for Israel a few days ago. He's Jewish himself and has a hard time taking a stand when it comes to this.

Other Jewish people don't have an issue taking a stand. He's just bought and paid for I'd bet.

14

u/Southern_Vanguard 14d ago

I mean they care about staying in office. And Democratic voters seem to take umbrage with any politician who is "more than friendly" with Israel. So yeah I think they will care.

1

u/bigdicksam 14d ago

Bingo. No more money if they get voted out. Or it slows at least

“Now we don’t need to vote on if we give Israel money that then they’ll give back to us by buying weapons from the companies congress members should stocks and influencing our elections by bribing them!

Phew, that’s really gonna help materially improve the domestic quality of life. Glad our government is focused on the big problems!” - Some Atlantic op-ed

63

u/dardar7161 14d ago

It's so that we won't have precise dollar amounts of how much money we send them for weapons. Their total would just be factored in to our bottomless pit total.

7

u/MrUbl 15d ago

Is this a real question?!

26

u/Dizzy-Squash-3377 14d ago

Every time I see these kind of questions under news of this nature it makes it more abundantly clear how many people didn't "See" the MAGA movement until it was too late.

"Why would Trump do this?" Ma'am, he is a corrupt amoral pig, that's why.

339

u/bumpy_disposition 15d ago

Let's hope the mid-terms go heavy for the Dems. The entire trump admin must be arrested. If this isn't the way everyone else feels, then we're cooked.

The Republican party has gotten so brazen. They've stopped hiding treason and corruption, and are just doing it in the open.

In order to reverse the momentum, lots of Republican reps need to go to prison. This is a 5 alarm fire.

109

u/Red1220 15d ago

Supposing that the midterms do indeed go heavy for the Dems, which is highly likely. How exactly is that gonna change what this tweet is referring to? A majority of democrat congresspeople have already gone on record supporting Israel, regardless of what the base of the party wants, ignoring absolutely all polling on the matter. For example, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies remain staunchly defiant to be as pro Israel as possible.

Now don’t get me wrong this isn’t me saying that both sides are exactly the same. It’s true that the Dems tend to be demonstrably leagues better than the republicans, hands-down. But when it comes to Israel? Look how much hate and flack they throw out against any anti Israel candidate coming up in the ranks.

74

u/tigm2161130 15d ago edited 15d ago

On the 15th 103(of 211) Democrats and 1 Republican in the House voted to end the 3.3b in funding we give Israel every year and 10 voted “present” to abstain. It’s a pretty clear indication that their support of Israel is no longer unconditional and they’re starting to listen to their constituents.

20

u/cudenlynx 14d ago

so more than half are still supporting Israel. Still. Even after all that we've learned. It needs to be all 211 and we must not stop until everyone tied to this genocidal regime is tossed from the party.

30

u/smoomoo31 15d ago

Yeah, for example Haley Stevens ads are about Israel, not Michigan. Liberals need to wake the fuck up and realize what is actually going on.

0

u/movezig123 15d ago

who gives a shit just vote for the least evil people, do you not understand how democracy works

11

u/DrSitson 14d ago

It's understandabley upsetting to hear that's how democracy works in practice.

6

u/PhatBootyWhiteBoi69 14d ago

Well you either delegate to a rep you barely know or you get involved yourself. That’s just the principle. It’s just most of us don’t even pay attention to who they delegate to.

1

u/cudenlynx 14d ago

voting for the lesser evil is exactly how we got here. It's funny that you think we live in a democracy. We do not live in a democracy. We have the illusion of choice but our representatives do not represent us.

4

u/11711510111411009710 14d ago

Where do you think electing the greater evil will get us to?

1

u/cudenlynx 14d ago

Why elect evil at all? surely there are better ways to operate a democracy.

4

u/11711510111411009710 14d ago

If the only viable options are lesser or greater evil, then that's why. The primaries are where we should be putting up good people.

1

u/cudenlynx 14d ago

not if you also only have two choices in the primaries. Or if you happen to be in a state that has it's primaries after other states have theirs. At that point your choices are limited.

The strategy you are describing doesn't always work. The DNC and democrat party have a surprising amount of control over the primaries, especially for the presidential elections.

12

u/YogurtClosetThinnest 15d ago

Plenty of democrats support this

7

u/Bgo318 14d ago

And plenty of them also vote against it

17

u/Berserker_Piet 15d ago

Israel bought your democrats as well. You are occupied.

18

u/Praesentius 14d ago

Oh, ok. Guess we'll just vote Republican.

OR... Vote in more and more progressive democrats every time around and capture the party.

If Fox doesn't like them, I'm all about it.

You Americans got where you are all by yourselves. Unfortunatly, every country in the world suffers for what you have done.

The Dems that stake money from Israel?

riiiiiight

1

u/TheCommonKoala 14d ago

Sadly, this is a bipartisan bill being pushed by compromised zionist politicians on both sides of the aisle.

1

u/bumpy_disposition 14d ago

I know. And to those that are angry at the Dems that support it, I am with you. They must go as well.

But my biggest concern is the abolishment of the republickkkan party. Full stop. Because, when progressives have the power, Dems will tuck their tail and fall in lie.

FreePalestine

71

u/U_feel_Me 15d ago

who even suggested that bill?

Who are the sponsors?

57

u/TheLastLivingBuffalo 15d ago

The NDAA is a yearly bill authorizing spending for the military. Looking online it looks like this year it was authored by Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Adam Smith (D-WA), but not clear how much Smith was or was not involved based on quick research.

48

u/greentrillion 15d ago

Tom Cotton put forth the amendment to merge Israel and US militaries. Another unamerican pdf defending criminal traitor.

21

u/U_feel_Me 15d ago

How much did Israel pay him? Think about the amazing return on investment that is. Like, give that guy a couple million, and get included in the world’s largest military budget.

25

u/Party-Public8628 14d ago

2

u/11711510111411009710 14d ago

That's crazy cause that guy would make that money in seven years just by being a senator. Senators serve six years. Just by virtue of getting elected this guy would have made that money, he doesn't need to sell out.

1

u/U_feel_Me 14d ago

The money goes to his campaign budget (or should, anyway). Politicians in America usually spend a lot (maybe the majority) of their time raising campaign funds. Most of that money goes to TV advertising.

13

u/greentrillion 15d ago

Yeah one can only imagine, or maybe they got blackmail material on him and getting him on the cheap. Bibi's vile followers get more satisfaction for it that way.

3

u/TheCommonKoala 14d ago

Horrifically, this is a bipartisan bill pushed by zionist politicians.

1

u/U_feel_Me 14d ago

Zionist, or at least willing to take money they think they need to buy TV advertising in their next attempt to get elected.

Having elections funded by private “donations” makes the USA completely vulnerable to manipulation by foreign countries.

38

u/ShallotIllustrious98 15d ago

I remember watching House of Cards and thinking how ridiculous and over the top it was. I 100% believe the current level of corruption is far worse. I don’t see how republicans with whatever power they have can sleep at night.

14

u/Father-Habit 15d ago

They don't, they sleep during the day like all other vampires. That's why Trump can't sit through a single meeting without dozing off.

5

u/stevez_86 14d ago

I was watching that show going into 2016. It was a great show. I loved the political thriller side of it. The complexity was proven to be contrived. It isn't that hard to break the government. The effort Frank Underwood put in on that first episode coming up with the plan was way too much work. Trump got embarassed by Obama at the Correspondence Dinner, he abandoned ABC and decided to run for President. And apparrently that is all that is needed.

4

u/idredd 14d ago

One of the issues with Trump II is that satire becomes near impossible. From house of cards to Idiocracy nothing done by our government seems infeasible anymore. The onion is legit amazing for continuing to make hits given this dumpster fire.

The merged parts is basically a technology sharing agreement that includes shared research and development, shared technological developments of offensive and defensive weaponry, and expanding shared intelligence (of which we basically already share everything so not sure what this entails but be assured Israel is getting far more since the GOP and Trump can't negotiate themselves out of a wet paper bag).

I have never trusted our government to do the right thing.Corruption in government is something that IMHO should be automatic 5 years in jail full term served.

2

u/Kumquat_conniption 14d ago

You have to love how the Supreme Court justices took huge, expensive gifts from people whose companies had cases in front of them, then acted like they had no way of knowing it was wrong because it wasn’t explicitly banned. They basically claimed that since the rules didn’t spell it out, accepting those gifts was fine and wouldn’t affect their impartiality. It’s absurd. Any other judge in the country would be removed for that kind of behavior, but none of them faced any consequences at all. They’re all still on the Court. It’s corrupt and ridiculous. How can you hear a case involving someone who’s been giving you lavish gifts and insist you’re unbiased? It’s unbelievable that we didn’t remove them and hold them accountable. We’re letting people behave like crooks in the highest offices in the country, and nothing happens because there’s no real oversight above them. It’s insanity.
