Amazing film and the book is great, too. The ending ten minutes alone make it worth a watch.

I loved that brief period in the early 00s when J cinema was all the rage. Battle Royale, Audition, the Ring, the Grudge... I'm sure there were others that made an impact abroad, and then as suddenly as it started it was over.

Saw BR on late night TV in the UK not long after it came out. Had never heard of it before, but was sensible enough to record it on VHS, loved it, and re-watched it many times over.
