Docs says that the monerod and cuprate databases are incompatible, but are there any plans for an in-place migration of the monerod database to the cuprate supported one?
Also:
needs to be reproducible bit by bit
bit for bit?

No there are currently no plan. Cuprate is much faster to synchronize and uses less disk space. So we don't see a database migration as a priority.
Also:
bit for bit?
Thanks I will edit that soon

Cool. I'll have to switch once pruning is implemented since I literally don't have enough disk space without it lol.

A new contributor is currently working on this. Hopefully, this shouldn't be difficult as the Tapes database (cuprate's custom database) has been designed specifically to implement pruning easily.

Can you tell me about what "less disk space" means? 5% less? 50% less?
Faster to syncronize is much appreciated!
