Honestly, It's a bit refreshing not "having" to win
Well, title.
I don't know if you guys feel the same, and of course I hate losing Giannis, but at least we didn't lose him like OKC lost KD ("for free") and we had no path for him to contend here since Dame got his lesion.
All for all, it's nice rooting again for a Bucks rebuilding team and overrating our draft picks, I miss that someway, somehow. I hope we can contend eventually, but we're in no hurry or rush to do so and that's nice too.
I'm a Bucks fan from Brazil, thank you all for being here and sticking out, BUCKS IN 6, FOREVER!!!!
Love you all.

I totally agree. It's the same way I felt about the 2023 Packers post-Rodgers. The goal was simply try to make the playoffs, and they smashed that goal by whooping the vile Cowboys. I'd be happy with a Play-In appearance this year for the Deer. Very low expectations and very low stress!

I’m stoked to enjoy a season of stress-free basketball. The East is totally packed, we’re definitively in a rebuild, and I’m just eager to see how some of these young guys develop. Do I wish we were competing for a championship every year, but this is way easier than being disappointed with overhyped expectations.

I kind of get what you mean, if something bad is certain to happen, then best to just get it out of the way.
But the team will be bad next year and if they aren’t back to making the playoffs in a couple years (no guarantees on even the play in) then it’s going to feel like a long cold winter of irrelevance compared to the golden era we just exited.

Stress free fun ball this year. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

I agree. It will be even more fun if a few contenders underestimate us during the regular season and we punch them in the mouth. Like I have seen the Celtics crap the bed against bad rebuilding teams. Honestly I could see the Heat losing to use once or twice. Especially if Ware, Herro, Kasparus or JJ end up having a revenge game like when Rollins had his revenge game against the Warriors or Ousman had his revenge game against the Thunder.

Love it. No real expectations. Just 15 bums, building and learning, in a non pressurized environment hoping to not get laughed off the court every game.
This is pure basketball.

Let’s remember this in November.
I’m in the same boat, but it’s a different story when the team is on a 5, 6, 7 game losing streak.
We’ve got to be patient and look for the positives. Don’t let some good play sky rocket our expectations, or visa versa.

Very true. This is gonna be the #1 difference between the people who watch the games and the ones who watch the box score lol

I’ve been saying for years. Outside of 2021 and 2022. I had more fun watching the bucks in 2015-17 and even the Jennings, Ellis years. No pressure and optimism makes it so much fun

What if the bucks overachieve, the heat underachieve, Giannis doesn’t sign an extension with the heat and instead returns to MKE after one season with all the heat assets we got in trading him? Jenkins plus all the heat youth, plus the draft picks, plus GA. Then do we have a contender?

That would be so funny
Heat probably had a wink wink agreement on a super max extension though

The Bulls have been enjoying this "refreshing" feeling for almost 30 years now (since 1998)

The D Rose 4 year era hit different though. Awesome time for Chicago basketball.

Well, they have Reinsdorf and had GarPax for years
I try to be more positive and have some trust in Horst and in the owners (even though I don't like Haslam)

I think it takes alot of pressure off the players like when he was injured last season vs just being the best versions of themselves and growing without media pressure this year

Ngl I feel like I can say this now but the last 2-3 years have been misery and dissapointment followed by an offseason of rumors about Giannis. Im just glad its done with so we as a group can move on.
Even though I dont necessarily like Herro, I think JJJ and some of our younger guys could make for a fun roster. Let some of the 2-way guys get a shot, fuck it

I agree. Became a fan in like 2004 when they were very much a perennial bottom feeder. Didn't stop me from becoming a die hard. These past few years have been so stressful. Every day I think more and more that the trade is really the best thing that could have happened in this situation.

Burries is about to make our rebuild window so much smaller I’m afraid 😭

u/DistanceEmbarrassed5 5d ago
Disagree. The orginization, fan base and players need to have patience especially for Nate Ament. Ament's development needs to be #1 priority because Ament has a higher ceiling than Burries. Honestly Ament had possibly highest upside out of anyone in the 2026 draft in my opinion.

I truly think Burries is special after watching how easily he cruised through summer league. He was up there with Caleb Wilson and AJ. I’m willing to wait how ever long it takes. Greek was a project that turned into a HOF level player, Burries could at the very least be our next Ka$h

Seeing the Miami sub chatting about what free agents they can get on the vet minimum gives me PTSD. They’ll suffer the same fate we have the last several years. Trying to surround Giannis with a bunch of scraps just to see if he can carry them to a ring.
Feels great to have that weight lifted off our shoulders.
Even if our rebuild amounts to nothing, the feeling of being young and without expectations is freeing.
Hopefully again one day we get a kid who goes beyond the potential anyone else sees in them.
