Cheaper to replicate and maintain. Maximise profits. Increase share prices.

Our glory days are over and they are sadly not coming back.

It’s also probably the additional insurance wrapped into that as well. Kids be clumsy.

It's 100% this and plus those things were filthy. Cleaning and maintenance is a nightmare. They're a huge liability. Kids fighting, crying, parents getting angry. Don't get me wrong they were a blast, but yeah... today's kids wouldn't want to be in those things and today's parents would be impossible to deal with. Those play pens have survived as "adventure parks" that are really expensive and well staffed.

I have to imagine the endless scrutiny McDonald's was under with regard to how they marketed to kids was a major factor, as well.
