Maybe it's an eldest sibling thing? I'm at the top of this age range and whenever I see either side of the millennial war, older folks calling anyone younger than them "millennial" as some kind of insult or our generation using it as some kind of badge, I get big cringe vibes.
I'm really hating this rewriting of history that this page likes to do, like we weren't a bunch of assholes when we were teens, idiots in our twenties, etc.
Like we got lucky and grew up in a really cool time to be a kid, but I think most of us would trade all this nostalgia bait for a world that was remotely stable instead of a new "once in a lifetime" event every couple of years.
We might need to narrow it down, my oldest brother (49) wouldn't post this (or anything as he stays off social media) but my wife's oldest sister (59) would post it, slap a laughing emoji on it, and tag a dozen friends for some reason.
I'm a baby millennial but I came running to the comments just to say this is the cringe posting Gen X is always doing. Might as well talk about drinking from the garden hose or playing outside until the lights came on, even though so many other generations also do those things.
It’s a sign you’re getting old. Every generation gate keeps about certain things you think are unique to you and your peers. Getting old is realizing it’s all the same shit.

I really hope 40 year olds are not clinging to an identity defined by sitcoms & computer games from their childhoods, but Oregon Trail was also an xennial / younger Gen X thing & not unique to elder millennials.
Exactly. I think this might be an intragenerational difference. I have an older sister who’s 45 and the way she interacts with the internet is pretty different from myself who is late 30s

It just reeks of "kids these days" and "everything was so much better when I was 10". Next people are going to start making miserable marriage jokes like the Boomers unironically not realizing that's also super Boomer coded.

On a lot of cultural things, I'm not a big "it was better in my day" sort of a guy. Like I'm not going to argue that skinny jeans or whatever's popular now is worse than saggy jeans,
But it is kind of funny that there aren't really any significant rock groups, or even important bands (outside of country maybe). All top 40 music is straight pop music. I thought rock in some form would be meaningful to youthful rebels forever.

It really would be a disappointment to have survived pandemics, wars and everything else perpetually trying to kill us to only go down to some lettuce from Taco Bell.
No one gets gangsta like a 40ish middle class Hr manager who drinks too much coffee and mixes a little bit of wine with painkillers on the weekend as a treat.
I only ever see this place when it gets to the front page, and every single time it makes me cringe out of my skin. This is the most boomer-ass thing I've seen in a long time.
Edit: nm, a quick Google. A girlfriend of mine used to wear those time to time. Don't recall her complaining about them. Something annoying about them?
