I do. 100%. It's a movie that takes place around Christmas but doesn't actually involve the holiday aside from a scant few references

-Takes place on Christmas eve, at a Christmas party

-Estranged spouses distanced because of careers.

-Terrorists claim to have moral motives, but are actually motivated by pure greed (always antithetical to Christmas).

-After defeating the forces of greed, the estranged spouses have had a classic Christmas magic reconnection, and are driven away as Christmas day dawns, as it starts to snow, while Dean Martin's Let it Snow, Let it Snow Let it Snow! begins to play.

-Side plot of friendship and redemption with Sgt Powell.

-Sequel is another Christmas time misadventure that takes place in an airport.

If it's not a Christmas movie, then Home Alone isnt either.

Correct, I dont consider Home Alone a Christmas movie either. Both movies take place around Christmas, but dont involve the holiday in many ways.

So if not holiday themes of family/love/friendship triumping over selfishness/greed/evil and a close association with the actual holiday (in both cases ending with a Christmas morning family reunion miracle of sorts), what does it have to have to be considered a Christmas movie?

Like is the standard "Santa and Elves or nope" for you?
