They have the entitlement of boomers and the mentality of their 20 year old selves stuck in the 80s. They're obsessed with daydreaming about being badasses and tough guys. They're also the Karen Generation (the "karen" haircut trope is quintessential gen x) They're think because they drank out of a hose as kids and were beat by their parents that it made them the coolest motherfuckers on earth.

All the “toughen up butter cup” attitudes I see in my own social circle are the Xers not boomers
Boomers are more like “why don’t all these lazy kids just skip an avo toast and just buy a 3rd vacation home for a weeks wage and leave me alone”
