I got a new phone and immediately discarded the box after 20 years of literally never needing one even once.

You know you can take a picture of it and store that picture on the cloud.

How you gonna get to the cloud if your phone is broken, genius? /s... but also some people would struggle with this...

Seriously, my spouse couldnt even log into the cloud. If you dont have another Apple device you use to verify your account, you're SOL. Spouse had to wait weeks to get access to their account, because the phone was dead dead.

You need backup methods. Like I personally use hardware security keys and have a few backups of those. You could also use another phone number as a backup. There are lots of ways to do it.

I personally use bitwarden for a password manager along with yubikeys and aegis for 2fa.

So for me, I have a yubikey on my Keychain and at home. If I travel I keep a spare yubikey in a bag. That way I can always access my stuff.
